In June of 2024, he suggested I have cataract surgery for both of my eyes. His assistant explained the three different cataract procedures, and she answered all my questions. She helped me to decide which lenses to get. She was super nice and personable. Actually, the whole staff knew how to treat a patient. I never felt rushed. I felt like I was the only patient that day. Dr Ruttig, in my opinion, is a very nice and knowledgeable doctor. I had each eye done on different days so the first eye could heal. After the second surgery, I wasn't happy with how my eye was healing. I explained how I was seeing. I waited 2 weeks to see if everything was going ok, but when I went for my appointment, he told me he and his assistant thought maybe a different lens would work better, so they scheduled another surgery. I also had issues with my bill from the hospital. I totally misunderstood the cost of the lenses and surgery. Hoda listened to my issues and said she would do some research. Hoda got back to me quickly and Dr. Ruttig refunded me a little under $3,000 to cover the costs of the hospital. I was so shocked. The office is amazing and so is Dr. Ruttig. Everyone is so professional, helpful and nice. I would highly recommend Eye M.D. of Niceville to anyone.

Dr Streeter is thorough, professional and truly listens to patients. This last exam I pointed out a…read moredry eye condition, most would have dismissed as allergies or age but he proceeded to examine my eyes again and noticed another problem not immediately noticeable, my bottom lids are slightly separating (fractions of millimeters) due to extra sagging skin and do not therefore spread moisture correctly. He gave me a good plan to follow. You're never rushed and he thoroughly goes over last visit first and your general health. The frontline staff are also amazing and eager to help with insurance, referrals, appointments or pricing glasses. Great team, highly recommend and if you're on Medicare/Tricare4Life it's all covered.

I was told they were booked until the 16th of October and could be put on a cancellation list. I said fine I'll take it. Something came up and I was going to be going out of town on the 16th so I called and they said they could move my appointment up to the 13th. I said that was great (thinking wow I guess that appointment JUST opened up). Well I ended up getting sick and wasn't going to be going out of town let alone making my doctors appointment. I called the morning of my appointment before they opened and left a message to reschedule. They didn't call me back that day. They didn't call Monday. I called them Tuesday to reschedule and I was told they could get me in on the 27th of December. I said excuse me? I'm sorry I didn't make it in. I could have come in but I really didn't want to get anybody sick so you're telling me I can't get in for another 2 months because I chose to be responsible. She then told me I could be put on the cancellation list again. I said it didn't do a damn bit of food the first time. So they would expect me to wait 5 months for an appointment. I was an office manager for a mental health therapist, I would NEVER do that to a patient. I would get them in asap, especially since they would have already had waited months to get in. This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!

There are only two ways to do things at Dr. Hemmig's office. His way or the highway. He spends his entire exam time telling the patient what they want rather than shutting his mouth and listening to what the patient is telling him. Confuses professionalism with rudeness. His wife runs the eyeglass portion of the business and is a perfect match for the good doctors way of conducting business. She will TELL you what you want. She will also attempt to sell you the most expensive eyewear and add-ons available. Extremely pushy with a know-it-all attitude. I personally waited for over a month to receive sunglasses, that I was assured were in the process of being made, only to eventually receive a refund and no sunglasses. Clearly Mrs. Hemmig was lying to me the entire time. To make matters worse, they misspelled my name on the refund check. Along with the refund check was a letter telling me that "due to a customer/doctor relationship breakdown" they no longer would be providing eye care to me. This simply because I refused to allow them to tell me what I wanted rather than accepting that "the customer is ALWAYS right". The shear audacity of their condescending attitudes was more than I could take. I had already determined that I would NEVER go there again long before I received their pathetic letter. I would strongly recommend finding another optometrist. You will regret going to this one.

I have not…read morehad surgery in 30 plus years and was very anxious but Dr Hudson made me feel very comfortable about going in and having this removed. Dr Hudson has been the greatest! Very professional, knowledgeable, kind and has the greatest bedside manner. He takes his time and I have never felt rushed. He answered any questions I had and made me feel very comfortable. Dr Brabham provided a very thorough eye exam…read more However her office help and optical lady are very unprofessional, rude, inconsiderate, won't answer the phone and if you leave message will not return your call, won't justify billing/charges, incorrectly filed inacurate insurance claim and completely ordered the wrong lenses that I had paid for, didnt listen or care about my questions or concerns, took over 5 months to get my glasses from exam time to getting/redoing glasses and was told that I was nothing but trouble and to give the glasses back to them....at that time I asked to see Dr. Brabham who professionally and graciously answered all my questions. Ive talked to others and they also agreed she has very incompetent office and optical help. No customer service at all!
