And one order of nachos with blackened chicken. And an order of buffalo shrimp. My husband and I love shrimp and we have never seen buffalo shrimp. We ordered the mild because sadly I can't handle any heat. It's ridiculous I know. Anyways, I only ate two because it was kind of hot for me. It was me not them. And I really liked it. I would like to try some again if they weren't as hot. My husband, was probably Happy because he ended up eating the rest of them himself. Lol. We all loved the nachos. I liked the ones with the ground beef Best. And my boys and husband loved the blackened chicken nachos. My four guys all had burgers and fries. No complaints and no leftovers. So I think that went good. I ordered the sirloin with the smashed red potatoes and Parmesan toast. I ate every bite of the steak. I couldn't finish the potatoes. I could tell you they tasted delicious though. Sadly, nowhere near our house or else we would go again and often. I only remembered to take one picture after I drained it in A1, which is my preference. But there's a picture. The staff were Uber friendly. Overall, we would definitely return. I only had one complaint. Do not get ice water. It was the most disgusting water I've ever tasted. I ended up asking for a bottle of water because I couldn't even sip the water after I even drowned it in lemon. They need to do something about that. It's gross.

In 2025 we couldn't stop raving about this place the food was amazing the service was impeccable. This last visit this weekend was disappointing. My partner ordered the beef wellington which was excellent and I ordered the duck which was...unexpected. The black cherry confit seemed non-existent, I think I actually got the same sauce that was on the Wellington. I didn't say anything because I wasn't sure and the duck was prepared well so I just let it go. The creme brulee dessert was a disaster. The first order came out black and I told the waiter there was something wrong with it immediately. He had mentioned he was new so I'm guessing he wasn't sure what it was supposed to look like. I tried to crack into it and the top just molded with the spoon so I asked him to take it back because it was not right. I watched him show it to someone, who I was told was the owners son, and they sent another. The owners son dropped it off the table and said, this should be more to my liking and walked away. Well it was only slightly less burnt but it did crack so I tried it. Sugar was definitely burnt, you could taste it, and the custard was dripping wet instead of solid. I showed this to the other waiter who was helping and she understood immediately and took it back. She said let's just get you the lava cake instead and I said fine. It's too bad because the flavor on the custard itself was excellent and I was really looking forward to it. Needless to say I was disappointed when the dessert was not taken off the bill after all we had been through with it. I expect more when dinner for two costs almost $200.

They loaded the nachos so we even got extra tortilla chips on side to keep dipping! We sat in a comfy booth in the bar area. The hostess stand had 2 very kind and helpful teens working. It even made my teen daughter think "how fun, Maybe I'll get a job here!" The server was so sweet and checked on us frequently supplying extra napkins, water refills, more chips throughout. The manager asked us how things were at the end too. So the staff seemed very on top of things! The only reason I'm giving 4 and not 5 stars is that my daughter had to go wash her hands in the bathroom and she said it smelled horrible. A mix of some sort of scented spray and other "bathroom smells" made her have to hold her breath. I figured it was a one off but she said no she had actually been here once before and the bathroom smelled bad then too. Maybe they can check and fix if there is some sort of sewer issue or something? Anyways, excellent food and service so we will def be back and maybe even w an application hahaha

Manuel's Mexican Restaurant sits exactly where it should for a family like ours: close enough to…read moreSnedigar Park that you can still hear the echoes of a running club finish line in your head while deciding whether tonight is a burrito night or an enchilada night. Twice now, our visits have followed my daughter's running club events, which feels oddly poetic. Victory laps pair well with Mexican food. We are vegetarians who drift toward veganism, which means eating out is less "let's see what looks good" and more "let's quietly run reconnaissance before anyone orders." To Manuel's credit, we did our homework and the staff met us halfway. We confirmed which beans were safe, which rice was not, and arrived confident we knew the terrain. On our first visit, our server Jonah was a standout right away. Energetic, warm, genuinely engaged. The kind of server who makes you feel like you're being welcomed rather than processed. The opening act was excellent. Spinach cheese dip that disappeared faster than it should have, warm flour chips that refused to go stale, guacamole that tasted like someone actually met an avocado earlier that day. Spirits were high. Life was good. Then the entrees arrived, and after one bite, the record scratched. Rice. Definitely rice. Rice that should not have been anywhere near my spinach enchiladas. I knew immediately what that meant, and unfortunately I was right. The order had been rung in as seafood enchiladas. Jonah was mortified, apologetic, and sincere. The manager came out quickly and comped the meal without hesitation. The response was absolutely the right one, but the moment still stung. When you have not knowingly eaten animal product in over two years, that kind of slip lands heavier than most kitchen mix-ups. Time passed. Life continued. And recently, we gave Manuel's another shot. Call it optimism or call it hunger. By pure chance, Jonah was our server again. He remembered us instantly, which was both impressive and reassuring. This time, he double-checked everything. We double-checked everything. A team effort was formed. We did discover another quirk. The kids' burro arrives with cheese, despite the menu never mentioning cheese at all. That is the kind of detail that matters when you are navigating dietary restrictions, and it reinforced the lesson we had already learned. At Manuel's, you can absolutely eat well, but you must stay alert. Here's the honest truth. The food is good. Really good. The service is kind, earnest, and human. Mistakes happen, and when they do here, they are handled with accountability and grace. If you eat without dietary restrictions, I would recommend Manuel's without reservation. If you do have restrictions, especially plant-based ones, go in informed, ask questions, and advocate for yourself. Manuel's is not careless. It is busy, generous, and well-intentioned. And with a little vigilance, it can still be a place where post-running club dinners turn into warm family memories. Just keep one eye on the plate.
