Came to this bar and grill in Lena to get drinks and maybe get food. It certainly has more of the former to get. Mulligan's is one of the better places in town to watch games or sports. A place that can be loud or quiet. The menu has the basic things. Better than it looks to be honest. It's another one of these small town bars with mostly the same few locals. They have more room than expected with a few tables. Cleaner than one also expects. It's about $6 for a basic cocktail like whiskey mixed with whatever. A pretty limited food menu. It's about $6 for appetizers like the tater tots. Burgers are one of the meaty items. There's also things like onion rings. For sure it's one of the hangouts in town to watch games. We were in the area and intended to stop for a beer at the local brewery in this town only to discover that it is closed on Tuesdays. This place came up as a local bar in the area on YELP. Yay to YELP! So we gave it a try. Travis immediately greeted us and had our ice cold beers (Sam Adam's Octoberfest) quickly in front of us. We only intended to have a beer but he offered us a menu and we decided to split the Brisket Burger. It was so good! Wish this place was closer to our home. We found this place on our way to Galena. A cute place with a friendly vibe. After sitting down we were asked what we would like to drink. We received the drinks 15 minutes later. At that time the server took our order. We waited close to a half an hour for 2 burgers. We don't attribute the poor service to the server because she was the bartender, the server and cleaned off the tables. Now the burgers. Someone needs to tell the cook to lay off the salt. All you could taste was the salt. I could only eat half of the burger because I wanted something for the $15 a burger we shelled out. My husband left a half uneaten burger but I decided to take my leftovers with. A couple of miles down the way I dumped it in a trash can. No thanks. Never again! read more

The food was mostly decent. My wife's fried pickles were soggy as could be. When we arrived we were the only new customers but still took close to 45min for club sandwiches. Staff were in the dining/bar area dropping the f bomb. We aren't prudes and swear ourselves but I find it in poor taste to swear in mixed company. Overall, I would not recommend this place. We frequently go to Milligans for an early dinner. We enjoy the home made soups. Lasagna soup is my favorite, my husband enjoys the beef stew and chicken rice. The chicken wings bone in are a favorite as well. The food is always Steaming hot and the service timely. read more

Live in Freeport, but when we want a good place for lunch, we make the trip to Mulligan's. Service has been great and the food excellent. Portion sizes are generous. Will continue eating there. read more

On our way to somewhere else we stopped for lunch at Mulligans on a quiet Saturday afternoon in January. There were no Yelp reviews so we just taking a chance. What a wonderful small town bar & restaurant. Mulligans is the gem of Lena that's for sure. From the outside it looks like a small pub but once inside it is quite large. Huge bar area with high top tables then a nice size dining area. We got fantastic service for a super friendly bartender. Mulligans has a good menu too. read more

Just passing through and found this gem!!! Sunday Funday lunch and more! The shaved prime rib sandwich was the special and did not disappoint!
