This job included refinishing the table and chairs, which also meant that the seat cushions from this set would be fitted with new foam and upholstery. That's where Larry's Custom F&U comes into the picture. The person that worked on our table had dropped the seat cushions off at Larry's and told us that we would need to make arrangements with him in order to stop by and choose the color and pattern of the upholstery that we would like for our dinette set. When we finally did make it by the shop and met Larry, we were taken by what a very nice, easy to work with gentleman he is. When the seat cushions were finished with and we picked them up from LCF&U we were very impressed with how outstanding they looked and how well the job had come out. A month later, after looking around for a new living room couch and not being at all satisfied with the choices that we were coming across, we decided to take the same route with our current couch that we had with our dinette set and have it reupholstered. So obviously, after having just worked with Larry we knew that we were going to have him do this job for us. Fortunately for us, our first impression of Larry was spot on. He was absolutely great. He let my wife bring home several of his upholstery fabric sample books so that she would be able to take her time and to make the right choice for our tired out old couch. Larry had our couch over the Christmas holidays, which took a little longer to get the job completed than it typically would have, and he was completely upfront with us and told us right from the start that this would be the case. But, boy, oh boy was the completed job ever worth the wait! Our couch came out just phenomenally. When you sit on it, it's so obvious that it has been refurbished with quality materials and also a job completed with true master craftsmanship. All at a fair savings over buying a new piece of furniture.

She was a wizard at assisting us in choosing a cat-proof fabric to restore our beloved Room & Board sleeper sofa (it has the best sleeper mattress by far). Joanne has experience in cat-proofing with her own little critters, and she swore by the fabric that looked great after 7 years and counting in her house. It definitely gave us confidence, even knowing how destructive our little critters can be. Joanne was extremely responsive and most of our communication was accomplished remotely, but we also benefited greatly from visiting the office and going through fabrics. She gave us a competitive price that INCLUDED pickup and delivery, which is a rarity these days and made for an UNBEATABLE price. The sleeper sofa was no easy task for delivery, but Joanne's crew was amazing in bringing it back in pieces and reassembling on the spot! Perfectly done. The quality of the upholstering work is impeccable. Joanne's team did such a good job that we now know the areas where Room & Board skimped, as Joanne's team did not skimp! They went above and beyond, and somehow the aforementioned sleeper mattress is even MORE comfortable. I really can't say enough about the job Valley Upholstering did. Then I pick a fabric and ask him to contact me asap when he gets the fabric. Funny... but not funny I'm still waiting for him to call or text me. The front frame piece on our couch cracked in the center as there was a knot in the lumber…read more Furniture & Repairs was able to repair and reinforce the crack by adding lumber for bracing and a middle leg for support. This was done instead of having to take the couch apart to replace the entire piece of frame. In addition they recovered the cushions for our mid-century Siesta chair. I was unhappy with our previous choice of leather and the new selection is beautiful. They were also able to fix the cross bar of the ottoman that had cracked years ago. It was done so well you can't really tell where the crack was before. Very good workmanship and service.

Turns out the entire table has bubbles from inappropriately refinishing. Top coat of Shellac. Polyurethane etc. not applied correctly .

They charged me $125 to fix a lift recliner that they did not fix. It's impossible to reach anyone…read morein this company and they don't stand behind their work. Now I have to find a different company to help and this company stole money from me. I will NEVER use them again nor do I recommend them. This company's communication came out to repair a lift recliner chair. The technician, a very nice man, reported that the problem was a wire under the chair. He claimed to have repaired the wire and fixed the chair. I paid him $125. The next morning, when the chair was used again, it once again failed to decline after lifting. I called the company back and reported the chair was not fixed. They got back to me two days later. Then they requested more pictures of the chair in order to schedule a technician to return. I sent them immediately via email. I also told them via email, voicemail & text that it was the Control Box under the chair and to have the technician bring a control box on his vehicle. The company never acknowledged this information. And the technician did NOT have a control box with him when he showed up a week later. Once there, he reported it was indeed the control box and he now had to order the part which could take up to two weeks to receive and 2-4 weeks to come back and install it. AND he wanted to charge me an additional $185 for the part. Their rate for a diagnostic is supposed to be $50. I paid $125 already. And 2-4 weeks? This chair is my mom's only chair and it still doesn't work. Wtf did I pay for? So...instead of fixing the chair, I decided not to. Why sink over $300 into an old chair when a new chair is less than $500? That makes no sense. This company's customer service is non-existent. They don't answer their phone and everything is robotic about the experience. While the technician was nice enough, he did not do the job correctly and preferred to argue when I called him out on it. I maintain that I will not use them again.
