Unfortunately our 20 year system no longer had the freon available for the slow leak. Since the entire system was 20 years old, we opted to replace everything. Adam gave us good advice. We'd never get our money out of the super efficient one with the rebates . The one he recommended was about a third less and almost as good efficiency wise. Always watching the money, I looked into Costco. In the central Ohio area, Costco only uses one company and that company has very specific lousy Yelp reviews. Nope. We were going with CRT which we know does quality work. Price was reasonable. They arrived on the designated date, on time, cleaned up after themselves. Very pleased with CRT Mechanicals

I called their shop and left a massage explaining the issue, I also called the after hours number they provided on their voicemail greeting and left a message there as well. I understand that it was the weekend so I really didn't expect a callback until the work week. Luckily I have a gas fireplace and electric heaters so it was tolerable in my home, but it was still rather cold. Monday comes along and I didn't receive a callback so I called their office again leaving a message. They never called back. I found another repair shop that was able to come out that Monday and fix the issue within 30 minutes. I am in the same town as Parsell Heating & Plumbing and would have preferred to stay with a local company but apparently they do not need any new business so I had to look out of town.

We were understanding that it had a heat pump, but I couldn't figure out how to turn it on. I was more than a little embarrassed, being over 50yo and can't turn my heat on. In speaking with one of the neighbors, I found out that Parsell is the company who installed and serviced our home for the previous owner. Great, they will be familiar with the system and can help for certain. Here is where I determined, I would not allow this company to hang a ceiling fan. I called this guy and left message after message. I informed him that I worked 2nd shift and it would be best to return my call before noon. I always got a voicemail, NEVER a person. He did return my call and left a message, he was familiar with the address and knew the names of the previous owners. Great, now we're getting somewhere....Nope, said he would call the next day. that day hasn't came yet. I called this guy for four months, mostly to see if he would return my calls he has not. I figure because he did a terrible job on this install, the air handler is for a home two times the size of ours, the registers are in the wrong locations, the cold air return is way oversized. How do I know this? I have held a Master HVAC license, I have done complete removals and installed a new system. That is why I was going crazy with this. I really needed help to figure out the wiring they installed. It should take six wires, I'll bet I have ten. I did not have time to tear this thing apart and figure it out. I was talking with a HVAC guy in Bucyrus and mentioned to him who I was trying to reach and who did the install, his exact words were "Good luck with that." It turns out we didn't really need it, we have baseboard in the finished basement and on occasion we would run a radiator heater upstairs, it never got below 70 degrees. Anyhow, I have no faith in Parsell Plumbing and Heating. He apparently doesn't stand behind his work and doesn't want to continue to keep a address he has serviced for years. I do not recommend this company.
