The folks (Amanda & Ross) that run the camp grounds and general store were awesome. Since we were two girls camping alone we felt safe! Ross lived on the property and delivered our wood ($8/bundle). Amanda let us hold her new puppies to help socialize them. The puppies were so cute and sweet! The campsite was perfect. There was a little connecting trail behind our campsite that lead you to the cliffs and the main White Rock Mountain trail. The best spot to watch the majestic sunsets. Pictures just don't do it justice. I will definitely come back here again! This might be my new favorite campsite. The water from the spicket was delicious well water. We cooked, washed dishes, washed our hair and drank the water. The bathroom stayed clean and stocked! We had no trouble getting up the mountain but it was dry. It was an all dirt gravel road. I can imagine you might have some difficulty if it was raining or snowing. We had all wheel drive just incase but probably didn't need it on this trip. Also it can get very windy up there make sure you got some good stakes for your tent. The grill on the pit was good and we did all our cooking in the pit. Plenty of trails! The White Rock Trail that goes around the plateau/ cliffs of the mountain was easy, pleasant and gourgious!

Camping here was a fun and quiet spot. We had Site 9 (Group one) which had a good distance from the…read moreother campsites. It was perfect for our family of five, plenty of trees for our hammocks and enough space to play catch without bothering anyone. The trail was overgrown, but beautiful views. I don't recommend going on the trail with small children because it gets very narrow and easy to fall. At night raccoons did bump our tent, the firefly's were a sight to see and we had deer visit during the day. The campsite site and bathroom were clean and the staff maintained their presence throughout the campground. There is a cute little store with such friendly staff, we went back for ice cream! I did underestimate the rough terrain getting there along with the road being very narrow in some spots. So drive slow and be careful because there are blind spots. Overall, I would come again in the fall vice summer.

The cabin was so cute, good size and had everything we needed. The cabin was clean and had plenty of the necessities; linens, towels, pots and pans. We stayed there in December and the heater and fireplace kept us toasty and warm. The pictures don't do the cabins justice. The location is great, between Fayetteville and Fort Smith. You will be pleasantly surprised by how nice the cabins are. I would stay here again and highly recommend these cabins to everyone.

We've stayed here several times when hiking the trail. They are super friendly, and will even shuttle for a small fee. They told us about some of the other local sites too, which made the trip that much better. We stayed in the old stone house, which they have since sold. I'll miss that awesome view of White Rock Mountain! We'll be back for a stay in the cabins, which are nestled into the woods and cute as can be!

Some cabins in the area need a 4wd to get to but not this one, it's right off the highway. All the amenities of home with a full kitchen, free wifi, DirectTV, DVD collection and the private back porch and patio have treats of a fire pit and outdoor hot tub. They even provide the firewood, kindling and a lighter. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone wanting a nice getaway for two. Super close to the Lost Valley trail, Steel Creek, the Elk educational center and elk watching.

The only thing I would have liked would be something on the bottom of the tub to give feet traction when getting in and out but there was a handle so that helped a lot. There was a huge window that overlooked the forest with a little birdfeeder that was very popular. Management was super responsive when we had questions. The location is about a 5 min drive from downtown (which was such a nice area). The week we stayed was very rainy so we didn't spend too much time on the porch but honestly everything was so cozy inside with huge views so we felt like it was perfect anyway. I get that, but an immediate phone call back would have been appreciated.

Convenient location, cute and quaint, great breakfast, awesome staff!…read more I botched a reservation on AirBnB for another property (forgot to actually click through the last screen) and didn't realize it until the day we were supposed to arrive. We quickly tried to book on AirBnB and didn't find a place we liked. We ended up on Booking.com and found this little gem. The treehouses are very quaint. They are a nice cross between old school Victorian styling with modern amenities like deep tubs with jets, very comfortable beds, flat screen TVs and comfortable patio furniture. The unit we're in is small-ish, but a perfect size for us. Though the breakfast is up at the main lodge, it's a quick drive, or a longish uphill walk for those who like some exercise in the morning. The breakfast was very tasty. We walked into town in about 10-15 minutes. It's uphill a little bit, but it's a gradual grade. At night it was very quiet. We slept amazing. A special shout out to Pat who helped us get into the proper unit. The online booking was wrong, but she straightened us out immediately and got us into a unit more appropriate for us and our 2.5 year old (Unit #6). We did get to checkout one of the smaller units and though too small for our family, would be a great little retreat for a couple. It's pretty obvious these are the Treehouses when driving by, but it'd be nice if there was an easier to see sign out front. Especially when approaching from the north. Pat gave me great directions, so we found them pretty easily. The "second-chance-bridge" into the property wasn't open, but it was easy to turn around and take the bridge on Main St.

The cell phone service is spotty, but there are tons of games, vhs tapes, and a jukebox to keep you busy. Situated in the Ozarks of NW Arkansas, down a lovely country lane just south of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, FSTR provides a quiet place in the country to sit by the pool, wander the forest near the resort, or party and play with your adult friends (they are 21 and up, except on special kid-friendly dates.) As the sign says, there's no wi-fi, so talk to each other. We did - making quick friends with a couple of girlfriends from Hot Springs and a young couple from Oklahoma. We took our 4WD and toured some of the dirt roads and trails just south of FSTR, enjoying a brief visit to a very busy Devil's Den State Park. If you've forgotten something, they probably have it. Seriously, there's everything: Atari, VHS player with a good movie collection, a jukebox, matches, new toothbrushes, shampoo/conditioner, a pizza cooker, knives, forks, etc...AND the kitchen sink!! This silly, but lovely, trailer hood includes trailers with a theme to fit anyone's fancy. These include a "Friends" themed Airstream, a rock-n-roll themed Shasta (my abode for the weekend,) Candy Cane Lane (an Airstream that definitely has the perfect-over-the-top Christmas decorations inside and out!) and others that provide the perfect mix of whimsy, community and comfort. Speaking of comfort, the only thing that kept Zack and Laura (the outrageously creative and talented proprietors of this crazy place) from getting that 5th Star was the mattress in my "room." Although, the thinner mattress is likely retro-correct, as I know these cute trailers weren't known for true comfort, just convenience, my nearly 50-year-old body needs a bit more cushion to be truly comfortable while sleeping. Upgrading to a slightly better quality mattress would have gotten them a higher score on the comfort scale. Cell Service: Spotty, But you wont care. Wi-Fi: None, I hope they NEVER add it. Can you find it: Yes, provided you use a better app than the older, never been updated, GPS in our Jeep. Good Thing: Kitschy Decor, Clean campers and bathrooms. Bad Thing: Mattresses. Favorite Thing: Instant sense of community. Final Thoughts: Visit FSTR in NWA. Pretty awesome.
