The folks (Amanda & Ross) that run the camp grounds and general store were awesome. Since we were two girls camping alone we felt safe! Ross lived on the property and delivered our wood ($8/bundle). Amanda let us hold her new puppies to help socialize them. The puppies were so cute and sweet! The campsite was perfect. There was a little connecting trail behind our campsite that lead you to the cliffs and the main White Rock Mountain trail. The best spot to watch the majestic sunsets. Pictures just don't do it justice. I will definitely come back here again! This might be my new favorite campsite. The water from the spicket was delicious well water. We cooked, washed dishes, washed our hair and drank the water. The bathroom stayed clean and stocked! We had no trouble getting up the mountain but it was dry. It was an all dirt gravel road. I can imagine you might have some difficulty if it was raining or snowing. We had all wheel drive just incase but probably didn't need it on this trip. Also it can get very windy up there make sure you got some good stakes for your tent. The grill on the pit was good and we did all our cooking in the pit. Plenty of trails! The White Rock Trail that goes around the plateau/ cliffs of the mountain was easy, pleasant and gourgious!

Camping here was a fun and quiet spot. We had Site 9 (Group one) which had a good distance from the…read moreother campsites. It was perfect for our family of five, plenty of trees for our hammocks and enough space to play catch without bothering anyone. The trail was overgrown, but beautiful views. I don't recommend going on the trail with small children because it gets very narrow and easy to fall. At night raccoons did bump our tent, the firefly's were a sight to see and we had deer visit during the day. The campsite site and bathroom were clean and the staff maintained their presence throughout the campground. There is a cute little store with such friendly staff, we went back for ice cream! I did underestimate the rough terrain getting there along with the road being very narrow in some spots. So drive slow and be careful because there are blind spots. Overall, I would come again in the fall vice summer.

Check all my photos to get a full visual on how great this cabin is. Convenient and not even a quarter mile from the Buffalo Outdoor Center. Some cabins in the area need a 4wd to get to but not this one, it's right off the highway. All the amenities of home with a full kitchen, free wifi, DirectTV, DVD collection and the private back porch and patio have treats of a fire pit and outdoor hot tub. They even provide the firewood, kindling and a lighter. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone wanting a nice getaway for two. Super close to the Lost Valley trail, Steel Creek, the Elk educational center and elk watching.

THEY HAVE NO LEGAL ACCESS TO THE TRAIL SYSTEM. After 1000 miles traveled on a lie I was told "the website doesn't say "legal" access", and "just drive your off hiway vehicle a kilometer up the state hiway 23 and there's a trail, dont worry, the police aren't enforcing it right now". I will not be the guy that causes us to lose the privilege of riding the ozarks.

The host is great at selling the place online, but the actual property does not live up to…read moreexpectations. -the host explicitly said there'd be salt, but there was none - the propane for the grill was all but empty, forcing us to adjust our cooking plans - there was no smoke detector in the bedroom - the screened in porch was badly ripped in multiple spots - there was not ottoman - the gas fireplace was not functional - the neighbors are closer than presented in the photos - the host claims "absolutely no light pollution", yet several neighbors have bright outdoor lights My biggest issue, though, is the host lies through an automated message to fish for good reviews. Then, if she has any inclination you'll give her a negative review, she refuses to review you. She says "hi, I just gave you a 5 star review", but a week later I still never got a review. This is someone's investment property, and they charge a premium price for a poorly maintained facility. Take your business elsewhere if you're looking for honesty and integrity.

You can really tell that it is taken care of. There are 2 cute bedrooms! Perfect for a family of 4, or 2 couples! We stayed in the bedroom upstairs. It is a loft with a gorgeous view to your left and right! There's a balcony where you can enjoy your morning coffee. No matter where you are, you have an amazing view in this cabin. We brought sausages and steaks for dinner the two nights we stayed! There is a microwave, an oven and stove top. You can cook up a gourmet meal if you'd like! They have utensils, dishes and bowls. Pretty much everything you'd need. We had a fire going the whole time here! Never ran out of firewood. This was such a treat. If you are wanting to bring your pups, this is a pet friendly cabin! It's $25 a night per dog (2 dogs max). Worth it to bring them as they are family too! If they have an opening, take it! This is a great spot you don't want to miss out on!
