Awesome country town post office and old mercantile near creek and park entrance that is a great day trip to cool off in the water

This guy watched over us in the "Wild West" room!

This is a cool place. It's a historic Inn that has been restored in a quaint Boston Mountain rail stop. Well worth a stop.

Pawpaw ice cream!! Delicious!

We ended with a great breakfast at the Chester cafe and would highly recommend it as well.

Whatever we needed or asked for they were ready to accommodate us. At one point we needed a gas can and they provided it. We got there late (10 pm or so), when the front office was closed. We called the phone number posted on the front door and someone came within 10 minutes to let us into the house we rented. We rented the Sears house. The place comes with a washer and dryer. This is great for those on bikes, this means you can carry less clothes and wash your jeans and shirts along with your "unmentionables" every night. Laundry detergent, shampoo, body wash, and towels are provided. I would definitely return and stay here. We bought a few beers and relaxed at night. The room has satellite television which is great to watch the news and local weather daily. The A/C worked and cooled the house great. We ate breakfast at the local gas station down by Ozark. It was a great diner with big breakfast plates. The place is called Hillbilly Hideout. If you are on your motorcycle, remember that the ride up to the Sears house is tricky. There's pavement for a short stretch but then there's loose gravel/rocks. This can be a little difficult to cruise or ride on with two wheels. Makes your front wheel dance left to right quite a bit.

The drapes were hung so beautiful and the black chandelier is gorgeous. My favorite part is the bathroom. It has pink floral wallpaper and it's so quaint. The whole room was filled with such detail and intention. Michael is such a wonderful cook. There were homemade scones and cinnamon rolls served with eggs, bacon or sausage and they also had little parfaits. I had to have everything because it smells so delicious! Totally worth it to stretch my waistline. Joana mentioned they plan to open a bed and breakfast in France! With the wonderful couple hosting, you know I'll be there! Learning about the history of the Victoria from Joana was surprising! I'll leave yall with a cliffhanger so you can go and check it out or go back and hear about it from Joana or Michael.

The B and B itself was welcoming, tastily decorated, cozy and comfortable. The pool and hot tub looked inviting although we didn't have time to try either. Killer breakfast in the morning with plenty of food. Fruit was the best and so fresh and delicious. Pastries were equally as fresh. The presentation and vibe of the dining area was nicely done. Breakfast order was cooked as requested and yummy. I am sorry we were able to spend more time, not only in the area, but at The Victoria. It takes a special couple to own and manage a B and B and Michael and Joana have it mastered to a fine art! You won't be disappointed to add this to your list of places to stay if you are in the vicinity.

If you look on the map it looks like you are in the middle of a pasture, and that's sort of how it feels. It's the most comfortable place I've ever stayed. When you stop in the main house they have a fresh baked loaf of bread for you--there's butter and blackberry jelly in your fridge at one of the two cottages. Now if you are looking for 5-star accommodations with the finest spa amenities, this is not your place. If you are looking for a country cabin with a fire pit, comfy bed, rustic beauty of the mountains all around you--then you have hit pay-dirt. This is the only place I stay in the area. Based on when you books you will pay $80-$100 per night, less than most hotels in the area. We stayed the night before in Mena and regretted it. The cottage has a fully stocked kitchen with coffee, hot tea and enough spices, pots, pans and dishes for you to cook what ever you want. I make breakfast every time I'm there. I grab some eggs and ham at the local convenience store and I'm set. The bed is comfy and the bathrooms is super clean. They have DISH Network, so you can watch television or enjoy the selection of VHS tapes. But really you should go sit on the porch and see the stars or listen for the wildlife to come scurrying by.
