The park is named after Ross Pendergraft, a prominent resident who was the executive vice president and chief operating officer of Donrey Media Group, a national media company. There is not much to this park. It is relatively small and features a Bass Reeves statue titled, Into the Territory. You will also find a covered stage/pavilion (which serves as a unhoused person camp) and some benches that are positioned along the parks paved walkways. There is a patch of green space, but nothing large enough for playing field sports. The park's primary purpose is relaxation, picnics and small to medium special events. The park is well maintained and has a capacity of about 500. It should be noted that the park does not have any restrooms or water fountains, so, plan accordingly. They call beforehand to confirm our arrival. And they're always super friendly too. You couldn't ask for a better time and staff! If you want outdoorsy fun, this is the place. They get 4 stars rather than 5 only for a couple reasons. First, the well water is just plain gross. In the small cabin when you flush the toilet the "fresh" water is just as yellow. Yuk. Lots of sulphur. At Riverside, the sulphur smell in the shower will make you choke. A filter would do wonders at both locations. Second, the price is a bit steep considering the upkeep state of the lodging. It's par for the area, but needs a bit more TLC to justify the price imo. Would I recommend it? Absolutely! But, just know that the water is kinda stinky.

To make matters worse they charge per .... Every Person , every tent, camper and every buggy. So while they are calculating the cost for each item. Then need to count and make change for each person. Those are taken. It's far away both good and bad. If you Forgot something or need to get a part for your buggy . It's a wasted 1/2 day in my opinion. So bring whatever you think you need and maybe some spare parts. I recommend a filter for your RV water intake because it can be very murky. The restaurant serves good food. The sights are amazing. Most guests are very friendly and welcoming. Sometimes it can get rowdy on the weekends. Forest service prays on out of towners that get on the wrong trails so get a map! It's all about making the best memories possible.

The blonde lady in the front is always nice. She told me which table was ours. The table was set up nicely. No one came to ask about our drink or if we wanted pizza so I walked up to the concession stand. The girl that was working behind the counter was a new girl that looked young and had the personality of a rock. Anytime I had a questions about drinks or food she seemed annoyed. I asked for the drinks for my kids bc they where very thirsty from skating it took them 10-15 min. to get my drinks out there. I walked up there 2 times thinking they had forgotten about us. The pizza that was brought to us still had the price tag that was bought either at sams or Walmart of $6.98 . We bought it for $13. Wow! This was the worst customer service experience I have ever had ! If you are thinking about throwing your child a birthday party DO NOT go here you will regret it like I did!
