They have a big play room for littler kids and lots of tanks of animals to see in multiple rooms. Everything is free to see and do. They have a nice gift shop and a big porch with rocking chairs. Outside they have nature trails, docks, play areas, and sitting areas. A fantastic place to see in Arkansas for both kids and adults!

Many boaters, some swimmers (with designated areas and beaches even), some fishermen, and hikers scattered this area of Arkansas just outside of Hot Springs. It was fairly hot when we went, but still good fun and beautiful scenery. If time had permitted, I would have liked to take my daughters to Three Sisters Springs and other places. We instead stayed at Echo Canyon which is not technically part of the state park, but exists on Lake Ouachita.

Gambinos Pizza delivers and it's amazing! We definitely will be back! we stayed Sun thru Wed so it wasn't crazy busy like the weekends. It isn't a "Resort", so if you want pampered go find a resort. HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT - Jamie, manager of Marval RV Resort was left numerous messages as we were…read moretold by an office employee we were no longer able to stay at Marval or have our reunion there. We have been going there since 2020. Jamie never returned the phone calls. In the end I wrote her an email and she responded that say we were no longer able to stay at Marval or have our reunion as we parked on the grass, cars blocked areas where trailers drove through and a camper was in disagreement with her. 2. Jamie, manager of Marval RV Resort said we had numerous issues however could not let us know what they were. Even though we have been coming there since 2020, we never had issues with Marval. Jamie is new this year and based on other reviews takes great pleasure on her "power trip". She is not customer oriented, does not introduce herself when she is in the campground riding around looking for violations, not friendly at all! I would go so far to say she is devious. 3. Marval is not ADA compliant with their pavilion - had a 96 yo legally blind woman and an 86 yo woman who is disabled walking - there is no accessible ramp to pavilion. There are no handrails to hold on to, there is a high step to go up. There is no accessible parking for handicapped, car was parked on grass by pavilion. We are no longer welcome to return to Marval due to one of a couple reasons - parking on grass and not abiding by quiet hours. This is not why I am making this report. There are AMERICAN DISABILITY ACT issues that need to be fixed. An ADA issue was reported for violations. 4. Laundry room was locked and not operable. We had to go to Gore. 5. Some showers in public bathroom did not have hot water 6. We used to have access to the Club House for free based on number of trailer campers and number of cabins rented - beginning in 2024 we started to get charged $400 7. Each person who is not staying at Marval must have a pass to get in - it is $12 per person per day - even if you are coming in just to visit family 8. The loft with 2 beds above does not accommodate any adults even tho it is advertised as such. There were 4 in the cabin and 2 slept on bed, the other 2 had to sleep on the futon which barely had any cushion.

In winter there are several kinds of gulls, lots of pelicans and cormorants. There are fishing areas above and below the dam as well as areas down the river. Several boat ramps have been closed due to silt and them not wanting to spend money to maintain them. It is getting pretty grown up now, but you can still follow the roads to the side of the river to look for birds or fish. The closed boat ramps are secluded and there is poaching, be careful.

We hike, bike, float, and off road and this place is prime for river floats and off roading. One of the most beautiful waterfall hikes (Devils Den) is right up the road as well. The owners are incredibly nice and welcoming. There is a mile of river front where you can camp (tents, vans, small trailers) and plenty of large RV spots in the main area (50 ft from water). Oh and the owner brings her kangaroo on Saturdays who is so friendly and can be pet. If you need a shuttle for your float the owner can help you out (spots to float 15, 8 or 3 miles) and bring your ATV bc there is a ton of trails on the property. All the campers have been really nice and respectful of quiet hours too.

The RV campground is right next to the mulberry river, and has a very peaceful vibe; it feels like camping in the forest. All hook ups were in good condition; electrical was new, and the campground was clean. There are a lot of nearby nature activities - kayaking, off roading, hiking, etc., and our kids had a blast playing on the river bank. The owners are very warm and genuine, and made us feel like family. We highly recommend this RV site if you ever find yourself in Arkansas.

Lake Catherine-- We absolutely love this lake!…read more Although, I felt like things were not labeled as they should have been during the hike of "Falls Creek Falls". There were marks on trees during the hike that were red, white and yellow, but I had no idea what those meant. Maybe this part of town is less touristy and more locals, because people had set up hammocks, and all of their things that they needed for the night/day around the waterfall after the hike. I spoke to a sweet man and woman on a golf cart who seemed to work there, as they were going around and changing papers for the reservations for there were trailers in the parking lot, and they advised us on where to go and park. They did advise us that if you go on the trails, if you go towards the left, the hike is shorter and it's about a 1/2 a mile, and if you go towards the right, it's about a mile and a 1/2 Which is a great tip because, of course, we wanted to take the shorter route. We had a toddler and an elderly person with us, and so we did not want to do a strenuous hike. This hike was just enough for us to feel better adventurous, and like we accomplished something when we got to the falls. The falls were beautiful, and the water looked gorgeous. Although, I did see later on another app, that a lot of times sewer water gets into the falls. Unfortunately, we had decided to take a dip even though we didn't have swim suits just because it looks so refreshing but it's just something to keep in mind. Overall, we would definitely come here again! It looks like a great place to bring lunch and hang out and eat after a great hike!
