I really like this liquor store. It's cheap, clean and well stocked. They have a big selection of all the liquors and wines. There is a lot of liquor stores in the area, but this is my favorite one! The staff is friendly and helpful, not pushy at all. Sometimes I need more time to decide what I want and nobody bothers me. I really appreciate that. In January it was my dad's birthday. I had no idea what to buy for him. I came here and ask if they have gift cards. My dad is really picky with the wine he drinks, so didn't wanna take a risk. Unfortunately they said no. I was about to leave when the lady stopped me and said that we can work something out. She said that she can give me the business card with her signature and the amount I wanna give and that will work as a gift card. I was worried that my dad may have problems using it but she told me that she is the owner and assured me there will be no problems. And there wasn't. They really care about their customers and that's another reason why I like to come here. read more

I'm fan of the selection and I'm a fan of the prices. I even love the fact they deliver. The *only* thing I'm not super fond of is the fact I've experienced some 'tude via the phone on multiple occasions. For that, I have to detract a star, but even so this is a pretty quality operation that merits a look. The store seems small, but the layout is conducive to the stellar selection of wine and spirits. Furthermore the place is clean and doesn't have that musty odor that many liquor stores tend to have. Those spots smell like unkept basements, while this place could be someone's home. They have a really awesome selection of wines and quality imports such as a decent soju and sake collection. I also appreciate their line of spirits and how organized everything seems to be. For collectors or gift givers, they have some really neat high end versions of various spirits which come in specialized boxes / collection / kits, etc. The prices are as good as the selection. Not too expensive and certainly affordable considering this place has a loyalty system (points per purchase) that can be redeemed after buying a certain amount of bottles. in terms the overall package, Muho is one of the better liquor stores in the neighborhood. read more

Great liquor store! There are a couple walking distance to my apartment and I found Muho to be my preferred one. It seems like every Friday they have a tasting of some kind! The reps are always welcoming and generous with the samples. I always feel bad declining to buy their product. Anyways, the store is not as large as Grand Liquors (on 31st Street & 30th Ave), but it's convenient and has a great selection. The workers are helpful all the time. They did not have a wine in stock that I was looking for, but they looked it up online and started stocking it! The prices are extremely reasonable as well. This unassuming shop doesn't look like much from the outside but step in and you're presented with a pretty great selection of wine and spirits. I'm a single malt whisky fanatic and I was pretty impressed with their selection AND their prices. I sell wine & spirits at a shop in Brooklyn so I know what the going rates are and Muho's prices are awesome, especially for imported premium spirits like single malt whiskies. I don't want my gushing about their whisky selection to suggest that their wine selection is lacking, though. They even have left and right bank Bordeauxs in their own sections! Very cool. I saw some of the wines my shop carries and they were at our price or below. Impressive. They are friendly folks and definitely don't hover over you while you look around though I get the feeling that the older fellow, ever-present in the back of the shop is constantly keeping an eye on me out of the corner of his eye. :\ Cypriana around the corner has some single malts that Muho doesn't carry and vice-versa but that's alright by me. Both are very competitively priced. Cypriana doesn't have as comprehensive a wine selection but it's still quite good. Sheer number of bottles can't trump careful selection no matter how much space you have and both shops seem to know what they're doing. It's nice to have some solid places in the neighborhood. I walked in there on a Saturday PM. The place is bigger than your usual liquor store and there seem to be choice. I was looking for Cachaça, asked slowly two ladies discussing at the counter, explaining to make caipirinha. Seemingly annoyed by me, they pointed vaguely in the rum section telling me in was the "white thing", promptly returning to their convo. They where pointing at Rum Chata, not Cachaca. read more

Great people, a little quiet until you struck out a conversation but John is a good wine guys to consult with when you come. This is a great place to buy Italian and French wines. Lots of choices and prices is very competitively low compare to other store. They also have lots of wines from California, Oregon, Washington, Spain, AU..etc. You can find lots of ETHNICS wines at this store. Of course liquid/spirit buyers will be happy here as well. A little gem on Steinway. They have an excellent selection of Cab's in all price ranges. Pleasantly surprised! Prices are very good, surprisingly the same as some discount wine stores I've shopped! They also have a points system make sure and sign up! read more

I didn't expect to be writing a review of a liquor store, but I was surprised to find the employees were so sweet and the prices are amazing. I went in on my way home to pick up some cheap cooking wine and was surprised to find some excellent prices while I was in there. You'd be hard-pressed to find decent wine prices around Astoria, especially under the $10 range, but Muho has a better selection than other places around the area. It's just a nice perk that the employees are nice. If you live close to Muho, this could be your go-to liquor store. read more

This used to be one of a number of local liquor stores near my home. But even after moving two miles away (with no convenient subway), I continue to visit this liquor/wine establishment. Their prices are at least 20-30% cheaper than the other local Astoria options. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and also makes sure you get what you need and at the best price around. The selection, quality, and price are excellent. I can't speak highly enough for Muho Liquors (and wine) :) read more

This is the liquor store closest to my apt- so this is my default places for buying liquor. It's a small store, but they have a decent selection. Much heavier on wines, particularly from other parts of the world. Not so much the US, and they have nearly none from New York (and I like to buy local wine as often as I can) Again, though their liquor selection is nowhere near as expansive as say Grand over on 31st and 30th ave- it's more than adequate for 95% of my booze requirements. I went here for the first time the other day. I will not be going anywhere else. I'm a big fan of American whiskey and this place has a WAY better selection and price than any of the other places I'd been to around here. Most other places you'll be lucky to find ONE brand of rye whiskey. This place had at least six (probably more I can't remember): Old Overholt, Rittenhouse, Bulleit Rye, Jim Beam Rye, Sazerac, and another small batch brand I'd never heard of! I was extremely happy with the 15.99 price tag on the bottle of Old Overholt I bought. And, of course, the bourbon selection was even larger. I didn't take as much note of it because I was on a rye mission, but I will definitely be going back the next time I need a bottle. read more

Bought an expensive whiskey as a gift and unfortunately needed to exchange it because the recipient didn't like the taste of that particular one. Returned 4 days later and asked if I can exchange it. truth be told I was going to exchange it for something more expensive. Clerk moved around some brochures that covered a no refund no exchange policy. ASININE. If you actually value customers you would do it with your actions. read more
