There is a lot of liquor stores in the area, but this is my favorite one! The staff is friendly and helpful, not pushy at all. Sometimes I need more time to decide what I want and nobody bothers me. I really appreciate that. In January it was my dad's birthday. I had no idea what to buy for him. I came here and ask if they have gift cards. My dad is really picky with the wine he drinks, so didn't wanna take a risk. Unfortunately they said no. I was about to leave when the lady stopped me and said that we can work something out. She said that she can give me the business card with her signature and the amount I wanna give and that will work as a gift card. I was worried that my dad may have problems using it but she told me that she is the owner and assured me there will be no problems. And there wasn't. They really care about their customers and that's another reason why I like to come here.

For that, I have to detract a star, but even so this is a pretty quality operation that merits a look. The store seems small, but the layout is conducive to the stellar selection of wine and spirits. Furthermore the place is clean and doesn't have that musty odor that many liquor stores tend to have. Those spots smell like unkept basements, while this place could be someone's home. They have a really awesome selection of wines and quality imports such as a decent soju and sake collection. I also appreciate their line of spirits and how organized everything seems to be. For collectors or gift givers, they have some really neat high end versions of various spirits which come in specialized boxes / collection / kits, etc. The prices are as good as the selection. Not too expensive and certainly affordable considering this place has a loyalty system (points per purchase) that can be redeemed after buying a certain amount of bottles. in terms the overall package, Muho is one of the better liquor stores in the neighborhood.

my fave liquor store in astoria. will go out of my way to go here instead of getting off the train…read moreat 30th and hitting up one of the 2 more convenient stores on my commute. why do i go here? first, they have a great selection of basic, easy to drink white and red wines from reputable brands. i'd say they have more california and french wines than anything. occasionally i'll go for something i'm not familiar with (and they have plenty of options for those feeling more adventurous), but most of the time i'm looking for a $10-$15 bottle of chardonnay, cab sav, malbec, or pinot to go with dinner. if you're looking for something really crazy they may not have it here. the size of the space just won't allow them to stock as much as, say, grand liquor on 31st. second, their refrigerated options are pretty great. they have two refrigerators, one of which is in the front by the registers and the other is kind of hidden -- ask an employee where it is because it's difficult to describe. they have more options in the hidden fridge. the store is kind of small and laid out strangely (hence the hidden fridge) and that may bother some people but i've never had an issue with it. third, the employees are super nice. i go there about once every two weeks and it didn't take long for them to learn my name and the name of my dog, whom i bring in from time to time. even when i'm by myself they always make a point to ask how my dog is. super friendly, always willing to help you find something. also, i casually mentioned that i loved cupcake brand chardonnay (so good! try it!) because they had the sav blanc...and a few weeks later i walk in to find the cupcake chard in the fridge. :) fourth, their prices are more than reasonable. i tend to mostly stick to the same brands wherever i buy from, and their prices are even often times comparable to north carolina prices. i can't comment much on their liquor selection as i'm not much of a liquor drinker. the few times my husband has wanted bourbon, they've had what he was looking for (bulleit, perhaps?) and they always have various sizes of my hendrick's gin in stock (this is not usually stocked in the smaller, more sparse liquor/wine stores). last but not least, their hours are pretty great, especially sunday. $10 credit card minimum but if you're just under that they'll usually run it anyways. :)

This is definitely the best Greek wine selection by far (a close second to non-mainstream regions for me is Mr. Wright in UES), although once you come here, you quickly learn that there are only around 3 major producers in Greece anyway (although they carry more than that). Not having a website is a real big bummer. I know they mentioned that they used to have one and shipped nationwide, but legislation has prevented that, and ever since they just haven't had a website, since people from out of state kept on inquiring. But I wish they had one, as now the only way to do delivery (which they do btw, free shipping on over $150 orders in the metro area), is to call them and ask what they have in stock. For non-Greek wines and spirits, I'd say it's pretty lacking. There's not much stuff that's inspirational, although there are a few mainstream bottles they have that are priced reasonably. It seems crazy to think a place this small really has it all, but this biz is certainly A+ all the way. For starters, the store is immaculate. It's not big, but everything is organized in a way where it's super easy to find most of what one could want. You know that weird odor when a room smells like an attic / basement that a lot of other liquor stores have? Not here. Secondly, the prices are solid. I tend to buy a lot of liquor in general and have noticed Jin Bros are usually just right price wise. They're not exceptionally cheap per se, but they're not exorbitantly expensive either. Another bonus? They take Android / Apple Pay here! Finally, what is a business without quality customer service? If I call ahead of time, I get someone professional, polite, and patient on the phone. They will often help carry cases if necessary out to cars and do so with a smile.
