It is the quintessential neighborhood store, and centrally located in the heart of Astoria. While their international selection is good, they seem to have a robust specialty on Greek wines and spirits (#2). They carry quite a few options from different regions, which is more than I can say for a lot of local spots. I ended up picking a bottle from southern France -- a 2023 VSE (Vino San Esteban) Private Selection Malbec for $9.99. It was a solid choice for the price -- dry, with a nice touch of spice and ripe red fruit notes. Great value if you're into bold reds without spending a fortune. The tall guy working there (wish I caught his name) was super helpful and pointed me in the right direction. It's always nice when staff actually seem to care about helping you find something you'll enjoy.

What a cute little wine spot on Broadway!…read more First off a little shoutout to John. We stopped by here last night after dinner and he was teaching us about all these different wines and liquors. We even had a little tasting of some. I was able to buy some mini moonshine for our Friendsgiving at $2.99 a bottle. They were so cute and come in so many flavors I might just add them as stocking stuffers for my friends. My best friend bought a nice bottle of wine. Definitely coming back here since they said they would look into getting wine from Peru for me. Again, thank you for having us. We will back soon for that bottle of pisco for the holidays!

This is a simple local liquor store with a good-not amazing selection of wine and spirits. For whiskey, I always thought their selection was very tasteful and prices were probably the best in the city. They still have good prices on staples but whereas they used to keep highly allocated bottles behind the counter only and if you asked about prices they might have a small markup from retail value. Now a glass case adjacent to the counter is filled with allocated stuff priced at about secondary market value. I can understand this from a business perspective, in a way it's just supply and demand, but as someone who frequents this establishment for its local feel, I would have liked to see them deal with high demand items by making them accessible to repeat customers via raffle or just putting them out for everyone at retail prices. I'll still come here but it's too bad about the secondary prices mentioned above.

For that, I have to detract a star, but even so this is a pretty quality operation that merits a look. The store seems small, but the layout is conducive to the stellar selection of wine and spirits. Furthermore the place is clean and doesn't have that musty odor that many liquor stores tend to have. Those spots smell like unkept basements, while this place could be someone's home. They have a really awesome selection of wines and quality imports such as a decent soju and sake collection. I also appreciate their line of spirits and how organized everything seems to be. For collectors or gift givers, they have some really neat high end versions of various spirits which come in specialized boxes / collection / kits, etc. The prices are as good as the selection. Not too expensive and certainly affordable considering this place has a loyalty system (points per purchase) that can be redeemed after buying a certain amount of bottles. in terms the overall package, Muho is one of the better liquor stores in the neighborhood.
