This new addition to the 30th ave stretch east of the train tracks is certainly a welcome convenience. Having just opened they've been offering free wine tastings which I'm sure will not be an ongoing thing. The store being new is *absolute*ly pristine, with a fairly decent selection. What's great about them is they offer free delivery with NO Minimum. Prices are reasonable although there are some better deals to be had at other liquor/wine stores around the neighborhood. However if you're getting your alcohol delivered to you (perfect for those last minute parties), then that marginal price difference is completely worth it with their delivery service. Hopefully this is something that will continue on and isn't just a grand opening special. As mentioned by the previous reviewer, perhaps due to the fact that it is a new store or maybe the small crowd I brought in along with me, the owner was certainly lurking around a little too much which made the browsing experience uncomfortable. Final verdict? Not enough of a selection to come here as a destination liquor store. Great for last minute parties where you need delivery service or if you live in the immediate vicinity and need to bring a bottle of wine home for dinner. read more

Only thing I wish they had was the large size piña colada mix - don't judge! it's bomb on a hot summer night- just add ice!! And they should have wine/ spirit tastings. This is our go-to-wine store in Astoria. They deliver, with no minimum, which is awesome. The staff always remembers us (my boyfriend and I have swapped the FourSquare mayorship of this place a few times and they get a kick out of calling him "Mr. Mayor", even when we order for delivery). I love the "pets allowed" sign on the door, and they're always helping to advertise for other local businesses and events if you look at the barrel next to the door when you walk in. The selection is forever changing which is nice, just don't get too attached to certain wines since they might not be available much longer. read more

Their selection of wine has a good array, but nothing worth 5 stars. Every single one of those stars up there belong to their excellent service and speedy deliveries. Yeah, I get my wine delivered, so what? Remember these past few months when it got down to negative 0? Yeah, well I forwent my opportunity to get frost bite and opted out to get my booze delivered to my three-floor walkup. When I call the store, the same guy is always so polite and cordial, calling me "miss" and recommending wines for what I'm cooking for dinner. And whatever time they say they'll deliver it by, cut at least 10 minutes off because they're always overly-punctual. I've had two large magnum bottles of wine in my possession within 15 minutes of calling! Awesome job, guys! read more

I first started coming here since the location was convenient to my place, but I keep going back because the service is so great. They always greet me when I walk in, quickly offer assistance for higher up bottles, provide recommendations not just for wines but also for whatever liquor I'm looking for. In the rare chance they don't have what I need, they are apologetic and offer similar options that I can try. They have wine & liquor tastings as well. Great shop overall. read more

This is a great Liquor store near me. I pass by this place nearly everyday on the way to the subway, so I know they have various tastings (wine and vodka usually) from 6-9PM on seemingly random days. I'm mostly a beer guy, so I'll make a trip to Triboro Beverage instead, but I come here because of the airplane bottles. As funny as that sounds, there are so many occasions where you would need these tiny shot sized bottles. And Absolute Wine & Spirits has them.. quite a few of them actually. The selection otherwise is great, and you can find pretty much any type of liquor to make your cocktails at home. read more

I really like this little wine & liquor store (emphasis on the little). While small, it has everything I could ever want from a liquor store, INCLUDING great service. They are always super friendly, they give you space to browse, and they are happy to answer questions, too. They have a nice selection of wines and spirits, but it's not so large a selection that you stand there staring at the mile long wall for 45 minutes trying to decide which of the 500 labels you are going to purchase. Sometimes less of a selection, if it's a quality selection, is better. I'm no sommelier, but I do know a good Malbec when I taste one, and I've found several good ones here. read more

This store just opened and had a free wine tasting for most of a Saturday afternoon (with sausage!). Open late (11pm), this store is very classy looking. With that said, the prices are nothing to write home about; most were over $9.99. (Maybe I am a cheap-o?) When my boyfriend and I were in the store, the manager/owner kept kind of following us around, presumably to help us, but after he asked if we needed help, he still seemed to be lurking... Maybe he was just over zealous, having just opened the store. Nonetheless, I'm sure if I lived closer, I'd check out their selection more. (They did seem to have a lot of "eco-friendly" wines labeled.) However, at least these days, I'll find a place with a larger, cheaper selection. read more

Actually, this place is pretty cool. They have a huge selection of different wines, as well as a variety of different brands of alcohol of each type (rum, vodka, etc). For a small shop, they pack a lot of options in there. I was a tad disappointed they don't have Captain Morgan Long Island iced tea, but hey, what can you do? Seemed friendly, and they also have some wine tasting there. read more

I don't like to put bad reviews only because I run a business and I know it hurts the owner to give a bad one!! But since I was dealing with owner then I gotta say this is the Worst costumer service ever!! I ordered 10 bottles of wine to deliver ! 10 not one not two!! So I paid by card over the phone cause I didn't have enough cash for it! The delivery guy shows up with no receipt and I didn't even ask for it because I had people over for a housewarming dinner and was thinking the wine is gonna be gone anyways ! First mistake is to ask the guy (the owner) Jose, for advice! I asked for a specific white wine and he recommended something else that's "similar" and cheaper! I said ok so I ordered 4 white wines! Guess what? It's tastes like vinegar with a mix of gasoline ! Obviously the three other bottles are still closed since it was horrible! I go back to the liquor store today and ask for an exchange NOT a REFUND and the guys says "I need a receipt "and wouldn't even look at me until I make a scene to get his attention ! Funny Thing is he didn't believe me but at some point he asks for my phone number and pulls out my order so he has the God damn receipt with the entire order in front of his eyes: full description of the purchase, the name of the wine, the credit and info, EVERYTHING but still acts like he can't do anything about it!! So I asked if he rather have an unhappy costumer for $30 than a new costumer who just moved and will probably be a regular and he said YES!! Well Jose, I guess you make enough money not to focus on your marketing and getting new clients !! So Congratulations, if people do business like you I would quit drinking in a heart beat! So people, you better know what you want to buy from that guy cause otherwise you will be treated like a shit afterwards. This place is great and their prices beat out all the other liquor stores in the area. More importantly, the staff is very nice and very helpful. MOST importantly, they deliver with no minimum, and usually very quickly. You can call and tell them what kind of wine you're looking for, or even what you're having for dinner, and they'll send you over something to match. Wish they had a bit of a better whiskey selection, but it's a decent selection considering the small size of the store. Also wish they had a few more decent wines under $10, but that's generally hard to find in Astoria. read more

I've always walked past this place, because I already had the liquor store to which I was faithful. But one rainy day when I was already lugging too much crap, I popped in to get my fix. Nice store, clean, they have samplings at times, there is a senior discount, and they have a 1.75 ml glass bottle of Kraken Rum for only $30! They're also the only place I've discovered in the area that sells Mamajuana. Methinks I'll be stopping in here more frequently :-) read more

They have a decent wine selection, especially French, but their whisky selection leaves a lot to be desired. They keep their single malts on a display behind the counter and last I counted there were only a handful of them. I realize single malts don't move like wine and vodka but I was a bit surprised at how thin their selection was. Their prices are pretty good and they are friendly but I won't have much incentive to spend my hard-earned bucks if they don't broaden their whisky selection. read more

This is generally a good wine/liquor store, but their delivery leaves much to be desired. My roommate and I have had a lot of problems lately with their delivery estimates. For example, tonight we ordered wine at 8:30, and it was said that it would take a half hour. I called at the 50 minute mark, they said that, "oh, he should be somewhere near your house" and the delivery person took another 15 minutes. I appreciate very much the fact that they deliver -- I just wish that they would give accurate delivery times. read more
