Most of the time whenever I need something beer related, I can almost always count on Tri-Boro Beverage. The process has been simple: I call ahead of time and if they have what I want, it'll be waiting for me when I get there. I pay for the beer and they help me load it in the vehicle and I'm off. Tri-Boro is located in Astoria, along the BQE highway and in a semi-rural location of the hood. The setup almost looks like a gas station, except the place is loaded full of craft beers. There no doubt they have some of the best selection in the borough, if not the city. They have had a lot of popular brands as well as some obscure ones, many of which are not local to the NYC. They have beer via bottles / packages, as well as via kegs. Their prices are pretty good for what they have and ordering can actually be done online. Many of the kegs range from $150-300 and the staff is pretty good about helping folks get it setup properly. The only thing they don't have is a lot of international beers. I've had to look in other places for more bulk type stuff, but when it comes to craft beer, Tri-Boro is as reliable as they come. read more

These people are absolutely disgusting. I was cursed and abused for no reason. We asked for delivery to our healthcare facility, they said okay, now saying no. I am so upset by how the guy on the phone treated me that I went home early! He used the worse curses even street people don't use! I don't recommend even an animal to use these people read more

This place can be hit or miss. Sometimes they have everything you are looking for, and other times nothing you want is in stock. They were stocked with pumpkin back in August, by September/October nothing at all. (Yes, I am one of those people obsessed with pumpkin, judge me). I have been going to Tri Boro beverage since I was a little girl. My parents would stop here every Sunday morning on our way to sunken Meadow to load up on ice, charcoal, beer and soda. It left such wonderful memories that I continued to do the same with my child every weekend. Today for the first time I sent my 21 year old daughter alone to purchase Arnold Palmer spiked lemonade for me. I have never had this problem And I truly do not know why this happened but I feel that my daughter was taken advantage of because she was a young naive female. She was overcharged for the two six packs and when I looked at her receipt it said White claw rather than Arnold Palmer. I was very upset and they just lost a 40 year customer along with my entire family who have been good customers for many many years!!! Shame on you !! read more

Wasn't it nice to get a kegerator as a holiday gift? The problem is that I need to find a couple of 1/6 kegs to complete my at-home beer bar, and Triboro is there to save me. So I stopped by to pick up a 1/6 keg of Hennepin Farmhouse Saison and refill a CO2 tank. The process was so easy. The keg was reasonably priced at $125 for Hennepin plus $30 keg deposit. Premium beers are around $99 to $130 which is very reasonable. They also have a great selection of craft beers! Actually, I'm there just to pet the dog. ;-) read more

Went out of my way to check out this place after a Why Leave Astoria? article directed me to this place for their beer selection. Not only do they sell in bulk, but they have five fairly large displays of 6-pack beers. Some you'd find in a local grocery store, but the selection extends beyond your average, say, Sam Adams or Dogfish Head, and provides seasonal ales and other rarities. Prices are about what you'd expect for relatively rare beers (I noticed $9.99-$16.99 for a six pack). I was a bit disappointed not to see more Belgiums, but they do have some classic ones, like Delirium. Just drive right up, park in their big "lot," and peruse or get immediate help. read more

Feel bad leaving a negative review for a small business, but there were mistakes/negligence throughout the entire process of what should have been a very simple keg order (I can't speak to the quality of their brick-and-mortar store - seems like people have better experiences with that?) I originally placed an order online, but never received a confirmation email. When I called about it, they said the order never went through, so I just placed it again over the phone. Days later I get a text notification confirming the first order I made online, which supposedly had never gone through. I told them about the duplicate order, and they said they'd refund me for it - no biggie. Multiple times throughout the weeks preceding the event, I emailed + called asking them to send a confirmation email so I could check the price, delivery time, etc - you know, things people generally want to know about when they're shelling out hundreds of dollars? My emails were ignored, and each time I called I was simply told to send another email (despite them clearly not being responsive to those).... Day of the event, they deliver kegs but no ice (still got charged for it though). Our party's left with two giant kegs of lukewarm beer. I call and ask for the ice I purchased and am told, with zero apology, that they don't have time to send someone back to deliver it. The dude's attitude was very much "tough shit, what do you want me to do about it?" I get that mistakes happen, but everything seemed entirely preventable in this case. Worst of all was that throughout the entire process - from the duplicate orders to the botched delivery - I never received a simple "sorry" for any of the mistakes they made. Pretty astounding lack of basic etiquette. Will never be ordering with them again. read more

We came here to get dry ice. The person we dealt with was so incredibly rude that we were completely put off. He packaged up the ice very poorly, was extremely patronizing, and was acting like he was doing us a favor. He gave us such a hard time about cutting the ice into smaller pieces that we decided we'd rather just try to do it ourselves. We were given a tattered, broken box (honestly it is more like two pieces of cardboard rather than a proper box) and he was going to put one of the giant chunks of dry ice in the box BARE. We asked him to put it in a bag for us and he went "well I'll have to CUT IT" with the biggest attitude. Dry ice is dangerous to handle and inhale. He was really going to give us a bare piece of dry ice in a broken box. We asked him to please cut it, and when he did we couldn't believe how little effort it took him to cut it. We are so disappointed with our experience and Tri boro should seriously consider reevaluating who they hire or train their workers to not be such assholes. I only gave this business two stars because the dog is cute. Update: I wrote this review in the car on the way home. We just got back and the ice was packaged so poorly that my fiancé burned his hands bringing it from the car to the cooler. He was only holding the box for about 30-45 seconds. That's how poorly this guy packaged the ice. He didn't even make an attempt to package it well. read more

Went to this beer/soda/ice distributor for ice just last Sunday and I mainly went to pet Guinness! I pulled up and got out and both my significant other and I were greeted by him. After the initial greeting of checking us out then someone came out and took our order for ice. While waiting for our ice order we continued to pet Guinness and tried to stop petting him for a split second and he stared at the both of us as to say... umm I didnt tell you that you could stop petting me... keep going... So in summation... you can order a whole glacier, soda, and beer and get to visit with a black great dane and feel safe and your beverage needs met all in one trip. read more

None of their employees wear face coverings. In fact, there was a man sitting in a chair without a face covering just inside the doorway so you had to walk past him. There was no social distancing. I would probably never come here if not for Yelp. On a last minute search for my summer beer staples, I came to Tri-Boro (it was getting late, they close at 8pm). The place is not huge but they pack a great variety of craft beer and imports. The prices are clearly marked on the shelf and I must say that you won't get a bargain but they are fairly priced in NYC. The staff were a bunch of guys and they were super nice and helpful. My biggest gripe about living in Astoria is how much more expensive beer is than the surrounding neighborhoods. When I first moved here it was sticker shock and weird attempts at raising my eyebrow or a funny look as if someone laid a deadly silencer on an elevator or escalator whenever I bought something. Solid selection of craft beer overall no noticeable gaps in offering but not exhaustive. Will return often. I preface this by saying my boyfriend is a craft beer lover, I think the two of us could have spent a couple of hours in here sifting through the shelves and we would still not have unearthed all it had to offer. GREAT BEER SELECTION!!!!!! I think he was in heaven. We ended up taking home the Voodoo Donut (bacon and maple brew) from Rogue and another beer that we have yet to try. I was really impressed with the guys behind the counter too, friendly/chill. This place has a good vibe for a shop. When we were leaving two associates were helping a customer load up his vehicle with his order (trunk full of beer) which I thought was pretty cool. We will be coming here again for sure, but not as often as we like, because everything we buy we have to carry (better for car-driving customers buying in bulk). Quite possibly the best craft beer store in Queens! I came here based on the glowing Yelp reviews - trust me, they're well-deserved. Quality and wide-ranging craft beer selection, very rare beers available on shelf, cheap growlers, and a parking lot. I am very used to NJ pricing after living there for 4.5 years - for the selection, Tri-Boro offers the closest to this, maybe 5-10% more on average. Compared to most stores which are 20-50% more than NJ . .. not bad! Great selection too - smaller than the Whole Foods on Houston, but bigger than most other stores in NYC. Sizable cold box and warm shelves too. On the day I was there I found the Stone bi-annual Cali-Belgique on shelf, Stone Enjoy By on draft, a sizable Belgian selection, Founders Bolt Cutter bottles, Speedway Stout . . . pretty good options. Helpful staff too, in a place best reached by car - come here and stock up, you won't be sorry! read more

Triboro Beverage gets better every year. First they increased their craft beer selection, then they started filling growlers, then they started updating twitter with their growler selections and beer on sale. We all miss Guinness, the Great Dane who would greet you at the door, but he lives on as their logo and I think there is a new pup hanging around the office area now. My wife and I ordered kegs/ice/30 packs/sodas from these guys for our low budget LIC wedding and they made the whole thing possible by delivering it all at an awesome price. I would recommend them if you're throwing a shindig or if you want to fill your growler with awesome craft beer for like 13$ instead of the 30-40$ prices you'll pay at a lot of bars. read more

This is a good place to stock up on craft beer by the pack. Not the best I've ever seen, but by Astoria standards this is as good as it gets if you really need to stock your fridge! They carry a pretty large selection of (mostly Belgian) imports and craft American brews. I didn't see anything really unexpected or rare here, but there was a good range of styles and some seasonal selection! The main downside of this place is that it's not a very fun store to browse-- it's got dingy, chilly warehouse vibe that didn't encourage me to stay any longer than necessary! read more

Astoria is not exactly close to me, but given great weather and a day off, I didn't mind the trip to Tri-Boro. It is not terribly far from the N, and you can get a great feel for the neighborhood while you walk there. Compared to other locations listed on BeerMenus, their prices were very reasonable and even cheaper by $2 or so. They also update their list regularly, which is helpful - I wish everyone with a BeerMenus account did so. The craft selection is varied and they have everything organized by region, if my memory serves me correctly. This place is no-frills and all beer - like a mini-warehouse/distributor. Guys working there were nice enough. Not sure how often I'll be back given the distance, but it's great to know this place is here for my craft beer needs. read more

Great place to go to for all of your beer needs. TriBoro carries hundreds of varieties of beer, from your disgusting and cheap Natural Ice to some really fine craft beers. All the prices are reasonable/standard MSRP, and you won't really see any sales here. Since they do so much distribution, I suppose they don't need to have sales. When it comes to seasonal selections, you can trust they will have a prominent display in the center of the small-ish store featuring any highlights of the season. Good God, October was pumpkin everything, right? There were at least 30 different kinds of pumpkin ales, lagers, ciders, etc. from both large and small brewing companies. Have a difficult time finding Southern Tier Pumking? TriBoro has it. There is a walk-in refrigerated room carrying a good number of beers by the case, and regular fridges to buy single cans and bottles. -1 star for the dumb young chauvinistic guys who work at the loading dock doing manual labor. You won't need to deal with them in the store, but they'll be outside either hanging around in an annoying group, or occasionally doing actual work. Shock. If you're a girl, they're freakin' disrespectful, immature, and gross. One dude said, "Watchu need, babe?" either ignorant of the fact that that's sexist and disgusting, or purposefully being a douchebag. Also, during warm weather, I noticed an insane fruit fly infestation in the back of the store. Clearly this doesn't affect the sealed beers, but I definitely rushed out of there because there were hundreds, at minimum, in the back corners. Might have just been during that week, but worth noting. Regardless, this place is my go-to place for all my beer needs, you really need no other. Note: They have maybe 4 parking spots available in front of the store, which is never full if you're making a quick trip, but if this is ever packed (I've never seen that happen) parking in the area is atrocious. read more

People care more about what they're putting into their bodies now. Not so much in the "is this healthy for me" way, but in the "is this delicious" sense. Hence, beer distributors are stepping up their games, and Tri-Boro Beverage is no exception. It looks, and functions as a loading doc for distribution of beverages. Yet there is a great selection of craft beer, and they seem to be expanding this selection by constructing an indoor room for craft beer on the left side of their facility. They're still working on what I shall call the "Mini-Valhalla of Beer," but even in it's under construction phase, I could easily lose track of time and money spent here. read more

This store has the best microbrew selection in Astoria. They boast over 400 at all times. For a beer nut, this is heaven. To top that off, they have a state of the art growler filler. This filler back fills c02 while filling one of the 5 rotating beers on tap. This method helps keep beer fresher for longer. A claim of 30 days has not been tested personally, but my guess is it will last longer than the 3-5 days from normal fills, but most likely not a full month in a growler with a plastic cap. Awesome piece of equipment though, and always top of the line beers on tap. If you're not into any of the fancy crap, there is a huge locker of cold beers in 6, 12, 24, 30 packs, and mini kegs. I'm sure you could order full kegs as well. Other alcohol? Yes. But I come here for the incredible beer selection. The beer is also generally cheaper than at Key Foods or your local bodega. My only beef is that whenever I need help there's no one around. I usually have to wait for someone to come by from next door. Also, their credit card machine never wants to work so they have to bring it next door to charge me. read more

2 stars for the immensely high prices for their growlers, even by NYC standards. $18 for a growler is highway robbery, and it wasn't even one of the "expensive" offerings. I can get the same exact beer from Whole Foods for $10 for a growler. They rotate the selection weekly, and the high price wasn't a one time thing. Yes, they have a great selection and a huge space. No, you can't wander around (despite what Time Out New York might have you believe) and they know virtually nothing about the craft beer they sell -- which can be good and it can be bad. It's good because they don't realize the real monetary worth of what they're selling and you can typically get a good deal while other beer stores would jack up the price. It's bad because if you don't know what you want, you won't have anyone to ask. The last time we went here, they weren't even sure what they had on tap and their binder listing the tap beers had obviously not been updated. We accepted a growler of "mystery beer" which was likely a pale ale but we were a bit annoyed with the rigmarole of trying to figure out what beer it was. Luckily it was pretty tasty. Anyhow, go for good beer but beware. They won't be able to tell you about any of the beers they sell (unless you're going there for a keg of Bud Light or something) and, if you try to wander around the space, you might get attacked by their very cute but very large watch dog. read more

Best prices around, without a doubt - and perfect for me since I was frustrated with only being able to buy six packs at the corner store instead of a 12 or 18. Great selection too. And growlers! We went one afternoon to check their selection and their staff were incredibly helpful, pointing us toward interesting beers to how to handle purchase and delivery of multiple cases. They had a huge selection of craft beers to choose from, both New York-area breweries we never even knew about to larger national brands. We ended up with three awesome beers from New York microbreweries for the wedding. Carlo was easy to work with via phone and email - placing our order, setting up delivery, and finalizing payment was a breeze. Highly recommend Triboro if you're need 10 cases or just a really good six pack (P.S. their build-your-own six pack was a great way for us to test out beers for the wedding). read more
