Then, over the next 10 days, a puddle formed in my garage. I wasn't sure what was happening, but no lights came on the dash, no weird noises were heard, and I work every day. Then, a clunking sound appeared. I brought my vehicle here and showed a video of the sound to their "Master Mechanic," who called it the 'Toyota clunk of death.' They told me how sorry they were but it would be $2,600 for the labor and part. I had my vehicle towed to my friend's mechanic, who told me nothing was leaking from the rear, which is the part of the vehicle the 'replacement' needed to go. The new mechanic only tightened a plug after he visualized the entire underside of the vehicle. Magically, after I informed these people my car would be towed to a new shop, the 'Toyota clunk of death' disappeared.

BUYER BEWARE! I had my oil changed at this location earlier…read morethis year. That day I followed their instructions to remain in my car with the motor running. During my visit, I heard a loud pop like sound and felt the force of it. I thought that the tech in the bay under my car was having problems loosening the oil filter. When the job was completed, I left there and went straight way to a car wash approx. one mile away. I pulled up to the vacuum pumps, turned my car off, and proceeded to vacuum it out. When done, I started my car and tried to put it into gear but it would not respond. The gear shift changer moved backwards and forward freely without engaging the transmission which meant that I could not move the car. I had to call for a ride home. That took longer than 90 min. I later on started the process of unpacking my car and transfering the items to another car. I was amazed at all of the stuff I'd been hauling around. I was so frustrated that I decided to call a tow truck to have my car towed to a junk yard. That took another 2+ hours. The tow truck driver arrived and had to get under the car in order to manually engage the transmission in order to back the car out and into position. He alerted me to the fact that the transmission cable was disconnected but not broken. I had the car towed to my home and called a mechanic (my brother named Craig). He arrived an additional 2 hours later and reconnected the cable in less than 30 mins. Mind you every step of this process cost me money. I waited so long to post this review, because I didn't want to unnecessarily defame this business in case it was merely a coincidence, and I also wanted to lessen the impact of any negative blow back like being blackballed, in some way, or another. I decided to post this review because I don't want anyone else to ever have to go through this kind of ordeal. In all fairness, I cannot say definitively that the oil change tech at Jiffy Lube popped my transmission cable, but it seems like that is something that s/he should have noticed and mentioned to me. That was the most regretful, stressful, time consuming, and expensive oil change I have ever experienced. Needless to say, I hope that I'll never be put into a position in which I have to give them any more of my business. Buyer beware!

However, as soon as I stepped inside, Lyle informed me that I was fortunate to have come in early because they wouldn't have time to perform my alignment if I had arrived at my scheduled appointment time. Twenty minutes later, Lyle approached me again and revealed that there was only one mechanic available, and he might not be able to perform my alignment. I explained that I recently had suspension work done on my car and couldn't drive away with $2000 tires without getting an alignment. About fifteen minutes later, Lyle approached me again and requested the wheel lock key. I informed him that my wheels don't have wheel locks. He insisted that my lug nuts required a special key and then told me that there was nothing he could do and would issue me a refund the following day because there wasn't a manager in the store. I requested a receipt or some form of documentation to confirm that I was getting a refund, but he instructed me to leave the store. I went to Discount Tire just to double-check if my lug nuts required a special key, and they confirmed that my lug nuts are regular 17mm socket and that it's not advisable to trust someone who doesn't know that to work on your car. I also visited Mercedes of Schererville, and they provided the same information. This is the second set of tires I've purchased from Belle Tire, and I will never spend a dime there again. I will strongly advise everyone I know to avoid dealing with them for their vehicles. The next morning, I called to speak to the manager, but they informed me that he's still not in and to try calling at noon. The lack of a manager's presence explains Lyle's behavior and lack of customer service. At the end of the day, I'm glad they didn't work on my car. I can't even imagine the corners they would have cut if they had done the work. I also found the tires for $120 cheaper at the Tire Barn and had much better customer service. They were actually persuading me to do other services, not the opposite.
