Great environment for celebrating and hanging out with family and friends. The Mariscos are delicious with friendly and accommodating staff. Had dinners with friends here and were able to just talk and laugh while we enjoyed big portions of mariscos (seafood) in a lively environment. Music playing and tvs with soccer games on the screens. Someone was celebrating their birthday and to our surprise the place sang their version of La Mañanitas that was fun and unique. Ordered the Mullecito Never have I ordered something on a menu based on a photo and the photo be smaller than the portions I received. The food is AMAZING here. Came down on Ash Wednesday and wanted some fish, and one of my coworkers suggested this restaurant. I'm happy she did-I will definitely be back! I got seated pretty quickly, the food was decent, and the waiters checked on me and my family pretty often. We came on Valentine's Day, but I had seen this new place, just had not tried it. The service was very slow, but I'll give that it was a busy day. My husband had a botana for one which was piled up with more chips than you could count. My son had the shrimp plate. He did not complain. I had the "Pescado al Mojo de Ajo" and that was tasteless. I don't know if imitation fish exists, but this was as close as it could get. I had tea that tasted like infused water. We will not be coming back. read more

The two times I have been here have been great experiences. The staff is very friendly and willing to help which is great for a new business who is trying to attract new customers. When it comes to the food I have no complains because everything I have has at this place has simply been great. The chips and beans are a great way to start with what was a great meal. I had the caldo de pescado which was simply perfect....And would go back for this meal any day. Went in on a rainy Saturday afternoon and was impressed by how clean the restaurant was. The hostess was very friendly and sat as down quickly. Within a minute a server was at our table with chips and beans (they were sooo good) and salsas and took our drink order. We needed more than a few minutes as the menu is extensive and honestly, everything sounded good. We settled on a Coctel de Campechana and two different fish plates. The food was delivered quickly and it was DELICIOUS. My husband and I were wondering why we had never been there?? Service was impeccable, the food was very tasty, and the restaurant was very clean and so where their restrooms!! Best part of it all?? The prices were so reasonable and our food was a great value. When I'm craving Caldo de camaron this is my to go place. I'm so glad they opened up a restaurant in Mcallen much closer to my work. We came to the opening of this place and it is very clean, spacious, and staff is very nice. We ordered the Caldo de camaron with 3 chicharrones de pescado. It was delicious. I ordered the fish tacos and what I got was greasy tortillas served with frozen fish balls and lettuce on top - that's IT. Nothing like the amazing fish tacos at La Jaiba. We also ordered the fajita and shrimp plate and the fajita was of poor quality and very fatty. As I tried to pay I was forced to wait for about 10 minutes while the cashier wrapped up her phone call.
