I really thought about giving this place 2 stars, but after I wrote my review, I came back and changed it to 1 star. It's not worth your time or money. First, I would like to say that I went there for lunch, and they have a sign that said "Seat Yourself" so I did. But then NO ONE came to serve us or bring us a menu. We just waited until we decided to move to another table in an area and looked like they were getting some type of service. Once we moved, it still took a while for someone to come and acknowledge us, and even then, took a while to get our menu. I eventually just looked at the menu online so we can put our order in right away with the waitress. Second, the food wasn't good. I went with my nephew so he got the kid's Mac & Cheese and he said, "It might be better if it had more cheese." I got the the Mac & Cheese Melt and that was the most underwhelming thing ever. I could have gotten a better meal at McDonald's, it was that bad. Every once in a while, you go out and think, "I could make this," but that statement had never been more true. My "melt" had the kid's mac & cheese on white bread and it wasn't even toasted all that well. A little brown on both sides, but definitely not toasted. The slice of cheese inside wasn't even melted. It's not something you should serve at a restaurant. You should probably take it off the menu, it was THAT bad. (refer to photos) I've had better mac & cheese at my local Cub. I've had better toast from my toaster. I wanted to give this place a better review, but at the end of the day, nothing redeemed it. The waitress never apologized for the long wait. No one came by to refill the water. It was just very bad. I don't recommend this place. Been here a few times and every time has been good. They offer good bar foods with generous portions. Today we came for $1 jumbo wing Tuesday, minimum three wings per flavor. I've tried all the flavors and they're just ok. The rubs are mediocre, and the sauces tasted something coming out of a bottle purchased from the grocery store. Nothing memorable basically. Wings were juicy inside and I had few that were dry. Overall wings are not bad, great for the price. I would prefer The Wells Sports Tavern instead because the sauces is tastier. We ordered the Paul Bunyan burger, oh my it was sooo good. Every bite was pleasant with the combination of the soft brioche(I think) bun, crispy bacon & onion ring, mushroom gravy in the middle, and cheese curds in the middle along with the gravy. It did make the cheese curds soft but who cares it was delicious. It did taste a bit salty due to the fried items together but if you dip with ketchup or just down a drink or water, you will be fine. Came with light battered french fries with seasoning salt on them, they were so appetizing, we ate them all. Another tip, we've ordered Poutine before, it can feed 5-6 people just fine and very yummy. The 3 of us, couldn't finish half. They also offer: -Daily specials with food and drinks(2 4 1s) -Two pool tables -Dart Game machines -Outdoor seating -Pull tabs -Complimentary salted peanuts in a shell, located in wood barrel in the middle of the restaurant -Complimentary cheese puff balls, yup that's right!! $5 burger night on Monday night. Not unusual. Except this is $5 for any burger on the menu. Tonight I had the BLT burger With bacon, lettuce and tomato, but also avocado! It comes with either fries or coleslaw. Last time I had the fries and this time the coleslaw. Both were good. The coleslaw is really delicious, but it has dill in it. I loved it, but not everyone will. DH had the sub of onion rings for an additional $2. They were really tasty, but a bit greasy and the order was 4 rings, although they were big. The fries might be a better bet. We like the neighborhood atmosphere with people of all ages including kids. Did I mention the 2 for 1 drinks? We had Angry Orchard on tap. 2 for $7. You'll find humongous beer battered onion rings, poutine, and other items that you're not likely to find elsewhere. Our server greeted my question of "how are you?" with the reply, "Same s***, different day." Given that I'm a customer, I felt like he was telling me that I was the s*** he was dealing with. Not exactly a hospitable or welcoming response for a customer. Thankfully, the food was decent. We shared a reuben. It was good. The bread could have been toasted and a bit more crisp. The cheese curds were good. The onion rings are very large. They get soggy fast, so eat them while they're hot. I'd definitely try this place again, but would recommend that the servers receive some training on appropriate and inappropriate responses to their customers. Food was good, but the service was spotty. They should get rid of the seat yourself policy. There staff can't handle it. The cheese curds were excellent and burgers were tasty. I was a little put off by the waitress. I mentioned to her the basket they have for silverware on the table was empty. She got a stack of wrapped silverware (10 or so sets) and put them on the table saying "there you go." She then walked off expecting us to fill the basket for her. We tried the Muddy Cow being a new restaurant in the ol' Tequilaberry's location. $5 burgers on Mondays and 2-4-1s all day on almost all drinks makes for a great place to meet up with friends. We tried the cheese curds with the honey sriracha sauce and they were fantastic! Try dipping in the honey sriracha and then the ranch sauce for a tasty flavor bomb. At $5 a burger my husband got the Hot Cow burger and the Paul Bunyan burger to try each and take half of each home for leftovers. He liked the Paul Bunyan Burger best with the cheese curds and gravy toppings. The burger patties were smaller than he originally expected, but fine for $5. I ordered the Cuban and upgraded to the onion rings. The onion rings were fantastic and so filling that most of my sandwich went home as leftovers as well. The Muddy Cow was quite busy when we arrived and had a slight wait for a table of six. We were seated at a high top table near the bar and our waiter was Jason, or as we called him 'Josh' the bartender. Just went in after a stay with the country inn next door. I drank too much because they sell 2 for one drinks. It was a clean place because of Chad's amazing cleaning skills as a bar manager. I called before we left to see if there was a wait, answer "no" so we arrived about 15 minutes later. The young man who was seating was totally sweet trying to make sure if we wanted a high top or lower table! So good! We went tonight and I set my expectations low ( sorry!! Being a new place that's all) and we left really impressed. Seevice was good, food was even better! The cheese curds were sooooo good and I'm a cheese curd snob! The siracha honey sounded scary but wow it was awesome! My burger was good too. I didn't mind not having a hostess at all. I saw the sign to seat ourselves. The only thing I wish when places do this they'd have the menus already on the tables for us to check out while waiting Etc. took a few minutes for the waitress to come over. Great food! Service was great! My wife and I tried this place for our weekly date night. Started with loaded nachos with shredded chicken, this was the highlight of the meal. Great nacho cheese, great flavor, not soggy. My wife got the pulled pork sandwich, it was good. Great bbq sauce and great waffle fries. I got the Paul Bunyou burger. We went to this restaurant for a birthday celebration. We called early while during this pandemic, reservations are required. They denied our reservation because "first come first serve" Okay. We showed up. There was 7 of us including 2 children. We were told that they can only serve 6. The current allowance is up to 10 people from the same family and 75% capacity. I have been to this restaurant many times and they were at 100% capacity. Trust me. The hostess which I will acquire the name of proceeded to argue with me after she walked up to the podium and asked one of the other hosts "what's the problem with these people" What was wrong? Nothing. I was simply asking a few questions to try and accommodate the party that I was with. This woman came to me with the most rude attitude that I've ever encountered in a customer based environment. She proceeded to try and argue with me and said to me. "would you rather argue with me, or sit at a table." I said back "I would like to sit at a table, but not here." it was the most unpleasant greeting experience ever. Unacceptable. read more
