Since we had already enjoyed a large lunch, we decided to keep dinner light and ordered the minestrone soup, Italian wedding soup, and garlic cheese bread, along with the bread served with the meal. Both soups were absolutely delicious! They were hearty, flavorful, well-seasoned, and tasted wonderfully homemade. What impressed us most was learning that each soup is made fresh to order. In fact, we had asked to sample them before deciding, but that wasn't possible because nothing was sitting around waiting to be served. Now that's fresh! Our waitress happened to be the owner's sister, which added to the charm of this family-owned establishment. If you're looking for a casual spot to enjoy authentic, home-style Italian cooking, the kind of food an Italian mama would make in her own kitchen, Bella Italia Bistro is definitely worth a visit!

I hate leaving negative reviews, especially for a local business we really wanted to support. We've…read moregiven this place four chances, hoping each visit would be better, but unfortunately this last experience will probably be our final one. The food has been mediocre at best, especially considering the prices. On my most recent visit, I ordered the ravioli and received three large ravioli for $17. The sauce arrived piping hot, but the filling inside the ravioli was cold. Overall, it tasted more like something that had been frozen and reheated than a freshly prepared dish. My husband ordered the antipasto salad, and the ham was noticeably gray and tasted off. We sent it back because it didn't seem right and it ended up upsetting his stomach. To be fair, he had ordered the same salad on a previous visit and enjoyed it, so this may have simply been an off night. The bright spot was the manager, who handled the situation professionally. She apologized, offered to make my husband something else, even as a to-go order, and removed the salad from our bill when he declined. We appreciated her response and customer service. Unfortunately, one good interaction isn't enough to outweigh the overall experience. The drinks have never impressed us given the prices, and the food has consistently fallen short of expectations. We truly wanted this to become one of our regular neighborhood spots because of its convenient location, but we've decided it's just not a place we'll be returning to.

Leanna, our server, was professional, friendly, helpful and informative. She gave us some history and background of the building. She suggested beer flavors for us and let us sample before ordering. When I was debating on entree choice, she guided me in the right direction. We can't wait to come back and see what changes have been made. We highly recommend coming here.

On our recent visit, we ordered the cheese pizza and were surprised to learn that the cheese blend includes provolone. Unfortunately, we are not fans of the sharper flavor, so it was not a good fit for us. That said, we absolutely loved the crust and the way the pizza was cooked. If not for the provolone, it would have been a home run. One area where I think there is room for improvement is pricing. While we understand that costs have gone up, some items felt a bit expensive. For example, I just cannot justify spending $17 on tiramisu. Overall, this is a charming neighborhood restaurant with good food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I am interested to see what the new ownership brings and wish them success as they begin this next chapter.

It was much more than I expected. The employees were very friendly. They have an extensive sandwich menu. Every sandwich can be made into a lettuce wrap or salad. There are many items to purchase. Lots of great gift ideas. There was a "birthday in a box" and jars with Ingredients to make anything from cookies to goulash. It is a comfortable space. It isn't very large, but there are tables to eat in and we did. The Peanut Butter Cookie was huge and yummy. They have other cookie options and Henry's ice cream! It's a great spot to eat, pick up food or a gift. We will definitely be back.

What stands out is that each sandwich has its own unique flavor profile, yet they're all equally delicious. Beyond the food, the space itself is charming and thoughtfully curated. They also offer premade meals, pickles, and all kinds of other specialty goodies to browse while you're there. I can't recommend this place enough. If you're in the area, Mercantile is absolutely worth a visit--the sandwiches alone make it a must-try.

I was greeted by the barista, Connor and ordered a golden milk latte with their banana nut bread. My order didn't take long to make and I enjoyed looking at the beautiful artwork on the wall. The golden milk latte was flavorful with a nice spice kick and the banana nut bread had cinnamon mixed in, simply divine. I'm sad that this lovely coffeeshop is closing, however I appreciated that the atmosphere was lively.

When I ordered the Golden Milk Latte, the cashier informed me that it did not contain espresso. She mentioned that espresso could be added for an extra charge. I asked if the espresso would affect the flavor, and she said it would be slightly noticeable. As I searched for an alternative beverage, she mentioned it a few more times. Ultimately, I decided to go with the Golden Milk Latte. My order was served at the same time as the customers ahead of me. Interestingly, my coffee was served in a mug, while theirs were in takeout cups, even though they were drinking theirs indoors. I would have preferred a takeout cup for my coffee so I could continue with my errands. The sausage roll was served with a fork, which was convenient since it was still hot from the oven. A knife would have made it easier to cut into smaller pieces. I am not sure if I was mistakenly served a regular sausage roll or if they have a different definition of spicy. The bland flavor of the sausage had me the pastry to it. The Golden Milk Latte was average at best. Most of the turmeric was on top of the coffee, and I could not taste it when I sipped the latte underneath. Since the latte was not served with a spoon, I did not expect to stir the turmeric into the latte itself. I might have had a better experience if I had opted for a regular latte and skipped the sausage roll.
