Outstanding restaurant in the touristy part of town. We showed up just before 7:00 when there were just a few customers having drinks at the bar, and the dining room wasn't open yet (it opens at 7).
The entrance on the ground floor is just a large bar and lounge, but the second floor has another bar and lounge, and a decent-sized but intimate and elegant dining room.
The menu is vaguely Portuguese, with lots of tempting appetizers and entrees. I had the octopus and potatoes, which was very well-prepared and delicious. My wife had the truffled risotto and loved it. Our daughter had the "sausages board" and ate all but one of the many cured meats. We also ordered some bread, which was warm and delicious.
For dessert we had the tiramisu (good but not outstanding), the poached pear (delicious), and the lemon sorbet (also good).
We were the only people in the dining room for most of our meal, which might explain why we had such good service, but the waiter was also just a very polite and courteous man whose English was excellent. He recommended some wines for us, both of which were excellent.
Muda is a cut above the average restaurant in this area, and the prices reflect that. We spent around 100€ for dinner for three, and only two of us were drinking. I would highly recommend it for an elegant meal, a date, or any special occasion. read more
