Honestly, I came into the store originally to try to find a nice location by the sunset that I could hang out in after a wine tasting. I just needed some food in my system. But I will say that that was probably one of the best steak that I had in Lisbon. However, I will warn you that the kitchen doesn't open until a certain time. I had ordered the steak appetizer and it was so tender and melted in your mouth. They also mixed it with a curry flavored sauce with cauliflower. And the cauliflower was really good texture of nice and firm and it absorbed the curry sauce. I honestly think that it was extremely delicious and I would go back. Otherwise, the ambience alone was super cute, it felt like I was in a rainforest with industrial concrete caves. There was a lot of of plants a lot of modern design and also a back room full of seating. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. If you also are able to finish eating fast, it's located. It's so close to the waterside so you can go out and enjoy the view. Place was also English friendly. Service was fast. Service was fast in and out within 20 to 30 minutes.

We only stopped in for cocktails so I can't speak to the food but the space is gorgeous - a combination of Tulum and Portuguese charm. The staff is lovely and they make beautiful cocktails and take time to understand what you're looking for and can make a bespoke cocktail that's perfect for you. We loved it!

Found this place early evening around 5:30 because I needed to early before an early flight the next morning. Alas, they only do their tapas menu until 6:30pm. I did however cobble together dinner with the tapas and it was best meal I've had in my entire week here in Porto. Flavors were well-calibrated and balanced. The tenderloins steak bites were terrific. The sauce, the tenderness of the meat, the sear, everything. Only complaint may be that it came cooked rare and I wasn't asked how I liked it. I personally love rare tenderloin, but be warned if you don't like that. There are limited wines by the glass. I had a glass of medium-body Douro red and it was complex and fun to pair with the food. The ambiance was upscale, with a chic, slightly tropical decor. Mellow samba music. Makes sense, given the Brazilian influences on the menu. Servers were kind and spoke excellent English. Bathrooms: The nicest I've seen in Porto so far. Great decor, reasonably spacious, and everything works.

Incredible evening at Mescla- We are from the US and were recommended to come here from a friend. We had the Atlantico cocktails as well as grilled vegetables, peach salad and the slow cooked ribs for two. We were early for the reservation and they were very accommodating seating us right away. Friendly people and a beautifully curated restaurant, not to mention the best food we have had so far on the trip. Thank you!

It was cook medium rare but tougher than an uncooked skirt steak. After three bites I called it quits. Hard to believe a filet mignon could be that tough and flavorless. Also order the Gratin Dauphinois with bacon. Funny thing was, I couldn't find any bacon and barely found any potatoes. It was just a mass of coagulated cheese. My wife and I split the seafood ceviche which was flavorless salmon and tuna with a few bits of shrimp. Lastly, my wife had the mushroom risotto which had great mushroom flavor and it was loaded with a variety of mushrooms but it had an excessive amount of cheese which also made it extremely salty. From a food standpoint it was an utter failure. The service was fine and the ambiance was nice but the decor was quite cheap looking. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

They were able to accommodate a last minute booking & even sat us in the upstairs area to accommodate our stroller. It was definitely more of a Vegas feel than I was expecting, very "hip" think dark and loud music. Service was impeccable; truly never had to even lift a finger not even to refill our water cups. Some of the food was hit and miss, but the hits outnumbered the misses and truly tasted so good we can forgive the one dish that wasn't amazing. We ordered the shrimp tacos for a starter - weird interpretation of tacos with less than fresh/warm tortillas and deep fried shrimp that would have been better grilled or fried in a different coating. It wasn't for us. However, let me say the steak was fabulous. We ordered the Brazilian steak and the filet mignon - the bark on the steak was excellent, full of flavor and plays on texture. We also very much enjoyed the polenta fries. The cocktails were also very good (crafted) especially at such a reasonable price $10-$13.

The Francesinha was good, but unless you are extremely hungry don't order the side of fries. Very nice ambience and decor. I can't wait to come back!

When you talk about dishes in the city, this is the one that comes up every time. Brasao Alidas is one of the preeminent spots known for them - where you walk in and the server kind of already knows what you're going to order. I was planning on going here anyway, but our Uber driver recommended it for good measure. For those unfamiliar, this is a monstrosity of a sandwich. A pork and steak sandwich is made out of white bread, sliced cheese is placed on top, and a boiling beer and tomato sauce is poured over to melt the cheese and cover everything. Lastly, it's topped with a fried egg. I fear what has just been created cannot be described as easily as viewing a picture will convey. It really is wild. Even though this is a sandwich technically, I don't think a single person in history has ever attempted to eat this with their hands. Where to even start. It should probably with the bread, but you can barely even taste that the bread exists. The cheese is melted thoroughly over the top such that it's mostly what you taste on the outside. On the inside, it's a whole bunch of meat. This sandwich has steak, sausage, cured ham, and pork loin. The steak is actually cooked pretty well inside all of that - it's got a decent sear and a nice medium rare. The pork manages to be pretty solid as well. What I wasn't as much a fan of was the beer/tomato sauce. These two flavors gave a slightly sweet and kind of sour flavor that I didn't really like much. When the sauce is so present it's something you're getting with every bite. I got a full portion, and it was simply way too large. For 18 euros you could easily split one of these between two people. While it's cool in theory, I ultimately don't think this sandwich works for me. For one - there's just way too much going on. You lose half the taste of the ingredients. Secondly, there's no textural contrast - everything just turns out soft, even the meat. Thirdly, the amount of fat is too much - the cheese especially. Overall, it was a cool one-time experience, and I'm sure this restaurant executes the concept of a francesinha well - but I don't think I'll be ordering it again. 7.25/10
