Omgoodness!
I'm not one to rave about touristy restaurants at all (Tourist traps in general are the bane of my existence, I know, pot calling kettle black) but this place was such a good random find!
I was hungry, cold and tired and was craving for some good Italian pasta and was hankering for a place that could do it "right." I saw the menu posted outside on the window and I sauntered right in.
I had a good looking Portuguese server who winked at me when he saw I was waiting for him and it was in a way that wasn't infantilizing or objectifying at all. I don't know how he did it. He definitely practiced that one. Nevertheless, it worked on me and I ordered right away.
The spaghetti pomodoro seriously hit the spot. I don't even know how they did it. They made the sauce exactly the way I wanted it, with the exact amount of sauce to noodle ratio, and the exact amount of basil and spices. How!? HOW?
He also recommended me the chocolate cake with ice cream over the tiramisu, and let me tell you, it was perfection. I know it sounds mundane in theory but in actuality it was anything but. He asked me if his verdict was safe which was so cute.
I couldn't help looking for him to wave goodbye afterwards, he was just so good. read more
