Great option for vegans and non-vegans! My friend is vegan and always has a hard time finding options but this place was perfect! I'm not a vegan and I got the sausage and cheese scone and it's just as delicious as any scone I've had! The cinnamon roll was also amazing. The shop itself was very cute and even had a library that you could borrow books from if you wanted. The staff was helpful and quick.

I was a fan of Mud Pie when they were located along 39th St. and while I've driven by this spot tons of times it took me forever to finally get here. I have to say I'm glad I stopped in as this is a delightful locally owned coffee shop right in my backyard! They still of course specialize in vegan goodies, and while I haven't yet indulged I'm sure they taste as great as they look. The coffees I've had have been good. One was exceptional so I'm definitely coming back for that again soon. The ambiance is also really nice. It may be located in a suburban strip mall, but the inside is just as funky and chill as it was on 39th st. I've worked here a few times now and it's a wonderful spot to have a meeting, or get some work done over a nice cup of joe.

    Delicious vegan pastries!!

Mud Pie has long been one of my top ten coffee shops in the city but when the location at 95th and Metcalf closed I was worried my favorite vegan cafe was going under. My fears felt like they were completely confirmed when I tried to go to their Westport location in December only to find it also closed. But blessed day!!!!! They were in my neighborhood this whole time! ::sobbing with relief:: This new location is bigger and better than ever. They have more kitchen space to be able to focus on their completely vegan and many gluten free products. They also have started offering bottled iced coffees (gluten free options there as well!) and they're in glass bottles to be returned, washed & reused! I love the vibes in here too. They're a nice blend of modern cafe meets tasteful maximalist that we're starting to see more of. They have limited seating, but still options both inside and out! A gorgeous addition to Mission. So proud to welcome them home, even though I'm like 3 months behind in doing so!

Today we stopped in to try out this bakery. We really liked the atmosphere, it was relaxing with a nice playlist and lots of wonderful books to read and a selection for children as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We ordered a spiced maple pumpkin loaf baked good and a gluten free chocolate chip muffin. They didn't have any coffee available but we were offered a sample of chicory coffee if we wanted to try that. The selection was low because they had a lot of people that were coming in to purchase items. My husband enjoyed his dessert and my GF muffin was initially firm but when I asked to have it heated it was nice and soft and good. We will be back in the future to see if we can choose other options when they have more availability.

New location is amazing! They have done away with hot coffee drinks for now. Same amazing vegan dishes, they still warm up the food upon request. Vegan friendly

I moved to this area a year ago and pass by here daily. Finally had some time to try Vegan. I ordered an ice lavender mocha with soy milk. Not bad. The lavender was very strong and flowery. More than most places I've tried. Ever since having my gallbladder removed dairy doesn't do well with me. Also tried their freshly made apple coffee cake. Yummy. I found my new hang out. The barista was quick to make my drink.

So excited Mud Pie has settled into their new location! I used to go to their old store front, and I was sad when I saw I couldn't go one day, but then I just realized they were moving. It's so close to where I live now! I got an oat milk iced coffee and they added in white mocha syrup for me. I also ordered an espresso chip muffin. Everyone working was so sweet and the coffee is delicious!!! You can bring your jar back for $1.50 off your next coffee

Ooooh thank goodness for vegan places!!! I am so grateful this exists in OP, it's such a cute little shop with simple, pared-back vibes. My partner and I came in for a scone and coffee and we enjoyed our time - it was quiet, there was plenty of seating, and the bakery options were lovely. We sampled some of the gluten free brownie and it was divine! I didn't care as much for the London Fog donut however, it was so citrusy and oversweet it was bordering on kitchen cleaner, lol. We were hoping for more savory options, but the only one left at the time (12 pm, late for a coffee shop) was a crumbly red pepper scone. It was alright, and probably would have been better at its peak freshness. The coffee of course came with alternative milks, for no extra cost except for oat milk, strangely. That's usually my go-to but as it was $1 extra I decided to branch out and try the cashew milk instead. I was pleasantly surprised and glad to have tried something new! My latte was tasty with the addition of housemade rosemary and vanilla syrups. Overall I would patronize this place again! I would like to see more hot savory vegan breakfast options - that would make me even more likely to come back!

    Moca oat grab and go

Taste like milk and water. Service was terrible as well maybe they were all having a bad day not worth $10. But the pastries look good !

Cute little bakery in overland park! I completely forgot that this place was even vegan, which really shows how great their goods are. I am usually hesitant about eating vegan food because they haven't been very good to me in the past. The fact that this tastes better than most regular bakeries, makes me want to come back. I don't know how they do it, but they're doing it right. I had their blueberry roll and a rosemary matcha latte. The latte had a very interesting flavor and at first I thought the rosemary was overpowering the matcha, but later realized that the almond milk settles to the bottom of the drink fairly quickly, so remember to keep stirring your drink. Everything had the right amount of sweetness that wasn't too overpowering. I did notice that some items that they have online were not on display at the bakery but I'm not sure whether they were actually available or not.

Front! There's a sign requiring masks to come inside, which we fully support :)

What a vegan haven in Overland Park! I live in seattle but my mom grew up here and has family here still. I typically assume that my experience as a vegan in Kansas will be terrible, but since Mud Pie came around, that is not the case! Everything they make is vegan, they don't even have dairy milk in store. Non-dairy milk is no additionally cost (except oat, that's a bit extra). They have savory options like a breakfast sandwich, sausage cheddar scone, and kolaches. We went twice in our three day trip and the best things we got were: Sausage cheddar scone (amazing crunch on the outside, buttery flakes on the inside, delicious flavors) Espresso Chip Muffin Monkey bread (very sweet, tasty apples and raisin, not dry at all) Green onion, cream cheese, and sausage kolache - WOW SO GOOD!! I would like to know what brand vegan cream cheese they use this was delicious. The bread was perfectly soft and the cream cheese was light and not overwhelming. Delicious savory snack. Vegan king cake! Mardi Gras is tomorrow and I've never seen a place with vegan king cake. Looks like some people places pick up orders for full cakes! We will 100% be back whenever we make the trip to OP again.

I love going here for locally baked vegan and GF pastries. As someone with IBS, it's difficult finding places to eat outside of my home. I wish there were more locations like Mud Pie. That being said, I love the little kids corner they've added in the back. My youngest had the best time sitting and coloring as we ate our freshly baked pastries together.

I was really excited to get back here after visiting another location a few years ago. They said this one has been open 5 years now and the other one closed. We ordered some onion biscuits which were gluten free for my husband, I ordered apple crumb cake which was really good. My son got a donut and didn't care for it so i finished it for him. We loved the menu choices. They had some things like breakfast sandwiches. Parking was plentiful and around 1 pm on a Saturday it was not busy at all. The only negative was it was a bit dirty, we saw some ants crawling on our table. But we enjoyed the food and drinks. There was a kids table in the back with books and crayons etc so I can see where it would be a good spot to meet friends

Here, the strict, timeless geometry of the Left Bank softens into a warm, sun-lit casual elegance, a neighborhood sanctuary where the hum of local politics replaces the brooding silence of the philosopher's corner. It is a space where the Democratic social scene is always in full, effervescent effect, a kinetic theater of ideas where local strategists, organizers, and policy wonks gather over marble tables to debate the future of the state while tearing apart freshly baked croissants. The air thickens not with existential dread, but with the electric, hopeful prose of a collective striving for progress, making it the definitive salon of the modern suburban landscape. The beauty of French Market lies in this seamless blending of civic passion and culinary delight. Every corner of the room feels curated with a benevolent affection, an atmosphere fueled entirely by a staff that can only be described as thoroughly fabulous. From the front counter to the busy kitchen, the team moves with a synchronized, smiling grace that makes every patron feel like the guest of honor at an intimate neighborhood gathering. They navigate the bustling room with a genuine warmth, pouring drinks and delivering plates with an infectious energy that elevates the casual setting into something truly extraordinary. It is a rare, beautiful thing to find a restaurant where the hospitality feels less like a service industry transaction and more like a generous act of civic kinship. On the plate, the market routinely touches the sublime, offering dishes that sing with a clear, poetic precision. The crab cakes are a revelation of coastal longing, packed with sweet, tender lump meat and boasting a delicate, golden sear that yields effortlessly to the fork. Nearby, the croque madame arrives as an opulent, dripping monument to breakfast-time indulgence, a decadent tower of savory ham and melted Gruyère crowned with a perfectly runny egg that coats each bite in a rich, golden velvet. To wash down these triumphs, one must order the French press coffee, a dark, aromatic brew that arrives in a slow, plunging ritual, delivering a bold, robust punch that commands your full attention and jump-starts any morning debate. While the kitchen operates at a remarkably high standard across the board, a discerning diner must exercise a small measure of tactical restraint when navigating the entrees. For all the brilliance on display, it is best to gently bypass the steak frites for the time being, steering clear of the dish until the kitchen source a more premium quality of beef to match their otherwise flawless standards.
