Very disappointed tonight. We will not be going back (and we were long time customers). The old woman who must be the owner was very rude to us. Embarrassed us in front of all the customers. We are telling all of our friends and acquaintances what we encountered so that they can decide about any future visits or their own..
Problem ....We were given a dish that we didn't order and they wanted us to pay for it!
We have ordered take out numerous times and have eaten inside several times. Tonight we decided to eat inside. We ordered the same thing we always order. "Thai sticks", "crispy pad thai" and "chicken cashew nut ...... with a small order of pan fried noodles".
First, the thai sticks came out .... delicious.
Then just one dish came out on top of an order of pan fried noodles. It looked like the chicken cashew nut .... but the cashew nuts were missing. I tried a few times to get the waitress but she didn't see me motioning to her, so we began to serve ourselves. When she served beer to the table behind us, I was able to get her attention. She came over and I told her the cashews were missing off of the dish. She looked confused and said she was bringing it. She left and came back with the chicken cashew nut dish and the crispy pad thai dish! So we said ... "what is this that we began to eat? She said we ordered it!
I said if that is our chicken cashew nut dish then what is this fourth dish? what is this? We told her to take it back. We did not eat it. She wouldn't take it and left it on the table. A short time later she came and took it. Then in the middle of our meal, she brought it back in a "to go" container. We said, "what's that? We don't want to take home a dish we didn't order". Then she said, "did we want it taken off of the bill". We said "of course'.
Then the old woman came running over telling us we ate half, so we had to pay for half. Crazy. I doubt that what we began to put on our plate was "half the dish". Nonetheless, it was the most absurd conversation we'd had. I explained the three things we had ordered and told her we didn't order a fourth dinner.
During my explanation, she said, "oh, you wanted a "side order of pan fried noodles" ... ( I had ordered a "small order of pan fried noodles") ..... Small vs side. Now she seemed to understand. But what was the dinner was on top of it, we'll never know (looked like the chicken dish without the cashews)
But nonetheless, she chose to argue with us in front of the whole restaurant ... loudly saying "you won't pay your bill, etc." What?! And then she spun around and ran off, in the middle of talking.
Then our check was rudely tossed down on our table These waitresses are usually very sweet ... but probably didn't know what to do since the old woman was so rude to us. No one could believe they were doing this.
Very bad service. Very embarrassing. They will lose a lot of customers, if that is how they treat people.
Guess we will always go to Sweet lemons and Wild Ginger. Goodbye Muang Thai. read more
