Although they do not allow smoking in the rooms, smoking is allowed on the porch outside of each room. If you are smoke sensitive you need to be aware of this smoking policy. We stayed two nights. Check-in was easy enough although our greeting was not unfriendly it did not set a comfortable tone. A basket of fruit, granola bars & mini muffins were left in our room for the second morning but I was not told if there was a basket for the first morning of our stay. A coffee maker is available in the room. Noise levels here are not bad considering the motel is located downtown with restaurants nearby although late arrivals can be noisy. They have several motorcycle guests here.

On every floor they have vending machines and ice machines near the elevator. FYI, the elevator smells like old musty socks. The room could be better for the price. The bathroom wasn't as clean as I would like. Also, the room decor such as the two chairs had mold on it but if you just need to sleep then this place isn't so bad. Also the location, it's within walking distance to Harrah's Cherokee Valley River casino and resorts.

So much is within walking distance...church, restaurants, shops. If we're in Murphy again, we will stay here.

Housekeeping blocks the hallways with bags of trash, you have to touch these filthy bags to get by. Gross! Hotel was DEAD. As in VERY FEW guests. Was in a wheelchair and asked for a later checkout as it took me more time to pack up. Young man at front desk said "I'll give you thirty minutes". Not helpful. And the way he said it! So rude! Ice machines are ALWAYS broken on the floor you are on. Now WHY is that? Because they DON'T CARE! These people don't care and it shows. I hope Murphy gets a decent hotel very soon, as this one STINKS. The breakfast service is NOT ADA accessible. A GUEST helped me while two young men sat with their FEET UP in the back office staring at me. I couldn't even make a damned waffle! No fruit left out during the day for guests as in ALL OTHER Hilton properties. And the employees scarf up the cookies left out for the guests at night - wander around with them and eat them right at the front desk in front of guests checking in. Does the owner not know what is going on? Or does he/she not give a hoot? Seems to be the latter with the coldness and rudeness of many of the younger male staff. Murphy! You need a better hotel than this one! Quickly!

Check in was easy and the person who checked me in was super friendly. Our room was clean and spacious. There was a mini fridge and microwave in the room. The bathroom had Dove body wash, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers in the shower which I liked better than the tiny bottles since my hair is long and I need a lot of product! The bed was pretty comfy and I liked they had pillows labeled as firm and soft on the pillow cases so you could easily find your preference. If you opt out of daily cleanings/towel changes/sheet changes, you get a point bonus which we opted to do since we were only there a couple nights. The only downfall was noise carried a bit through the door and walls. I could hear kids running around in the hall and TVs on a couple of times, but it was never enough to prevent me from falling asleep or wake me too early so not a big deal. They have complimentary breakfast, but I'm a late sleeper and not a big breakfast eater so I never checked out the offerings. Coffee was available in the room. Overall, we had a good stay here at a good price and I'd book this hotel again when visiting the area.

Once we walked out of the room I realized the door doesn't lock. Not only from the outside but the inside as well. We let the front desk know that we can't stay in a room that does not lock we were told that it is their last room available and there will not be a maintenance person around for a few days because it's Fourth of July weekend. We were then told we have to take it up with Expedia to get a refund. It's been several days and Expedia can't refund the money because they can't reach anyone there. We have tried calling and no one picks up. I am confident that they knew the door didn't lock prior and probably continued attempting to rent it out after. Terrible customer service and odor. Spend the extra $50 to stay at one of the nicer properties next door.
