Bowl, chopsticks and spoon all from MTC (food not included)

Great selection of items to stock your restaurant or home kitchen. I came in prepared to shop for a a few sets of ramen bowls, chopsticks, and spoons and found a great variety to bring home and surprise my husband for Christmas. In addition when I went to the counter the salesman/owner let me know that there was a special and I just needed to pick out $10 more to get 20% of my kitchenware order. So I picked up a great plate. There is a large selection but a fairly small store, so be careful when maneuvering around aisles. And shout out to the great staff at the store! Because of my additional purchases I didn't bring enough bags, I asked if I can pay and pick up my items when a few hours later when I leave work and they were totally okay with it. Looking forward to my next ceramic needs!

Tempting, tempting store full of Japanese cookware and gadgets. I want everything I saw in there! Such beautifully made goods! We were looking for lidded donburi bowls and dipping bowls and MTC had the styles and decorations that pleased us - and at quite reasonable prices (we were even happier when we were told there was a 20% discount due to an after-Christmas sale!). They also have a large selection of Japanese knives as well as knife repair and sharpening. It looked like a lot of professional chefs frequent this shop as well - we noted a patron coming in with a large selection of knives for sharpening (which required a deep serious discussion with the MTC staff). Staff is courteous and helpful and do indeed take all your requests and questions seriously.

If you are into Japanese culinary, you are in for a treat. You will find all you need to have an authentic experience both in the kitchen and in the dining room. High End Knives, Japanese sourced ingredients and Kitchen Utensils that help you cook and prepare the meals, Pottery and Kitchenware for you to serve them on and even the sakes that goes with the meal. And of course, if you can join one of their cooking classes or sake seminars if you want to know more about Japanese culinary art!!

Before sharpening... (yep, the shun was dropped on concrete. Yikes!)

Love this place. Seriously. I've got 2 knives purchased here (in addition to some other stuff) and have had them sharpened here several times, despite now living out of state. Trust me, it's worth it. I'm still working on my sharpening skills and I definitely have limits. These guys are experts. I recently worked with them to coordinate sharpening of my 2 Japanese knives and dropped them off last week on a Friday afternoon. I was happy to see that they are requiring masks, limiting the number of people in the store, and requiring hand sanitizer. My knives were sharpened to an incredible edge and mailed back to me in less than a week (I was asked to provide a package and label, easy peasy). I'd chipped the tip of one of them and you'd never know to look at it now. If you are in the market for new knives, need your knives sharpened, or are in the market for a variety of kitchen and dining essentials, definitely check them out. They have a great website, but I can't wait to have a chance to spend some time browsing in the physical store again.

Return/exchange policy is abysmal. Cannot even exchange after 30 days. Only open on weekdays when people are at work. Just sad.

Excellent, dangerous...and reminiscent of Korin for this food-loving guy who never cooks enough to justify the luxury.

Knew that there were lots of kitchen supply stores in and around LES. So wandered around seeing if stores had the doughnut cutter. Got referred to this place by another store. It was busy and I was able to find the doughnut cutter easily in their well organized shelves. Easy fast transaction with the friendly staff and will definitely be back instead of buying something on Amazon!

The aisles are really narrow and everywhere you look, you'll see merchandise from the floor to the ceiling. In some spots you'll need to suck in that gut to get through,.. this isn't a Williams and Sonoma at all. LOL There also aren't signs pointing out where things are and yes, there may not be prices on anything,.. LOL. Honestly they don't cater to the small time customers like me, but nonetheless their prices will definitely be better than at the previously mentioned merchant. For my visit, I knew what I wanted for my foray into making pizza dough, I needed a container to store my rising dough. I also needed a bunch of squeeze bottles so knew exactly what to ask for. I didn't need much interaction with staff, but I was able to find one staff member who was very helpful pointing me in the right direction for what I needed and finding the cover to the container I was going to buy. I was in and out quickly on a Saturday afternoon so I'd say if you know what you want and are ok with a little less than 5 star service for the price,.. you should be ok.

For those who know, a Chinese cleaver is not a bone cleaver, it is used like a Chefs knife and cannot break through bone. The cleaver was heavily damaged and I was looking for a place to help me repair and sharpen the blade. Indulge Kitchen Supplies was one of the only places that responded and I am glad they did. The store itself is on a main street with a fair amount of street parking and the store is super cute. The store sells a variety of kitchen gear from different knives, cutlery, utensils, etc. Most of the curated items are modern and high quality such as Durelex glass and Global Knives. While their prices are a little higher than online prices, they have quality stuff and I recommend buying from them. Their knife sharpening and repair was a life saver for me. The Chinese Cleaver is a large knife and they were able to get it done for me in less than a day and it was fully repaired. Looking at the photos you can see that they took out all the dings on the knife and sharpened it back to the point where I could use it again. I highly recommend this service and would readily come back when I need any knife repair or sharpening.

Always found William Sonoma an interesting place to window shop, especially for ideas…read more Their William Sonoma brand shelf stable food items can work well as a nice gift for the holidays... especially when you want to bring something fancy, packaged well, that the recipient will know you paid a premium for... and something they'd unlikely buy for themselves. However, typically gift those on my list something other than food. Given my extensive inherited and elsewhere sourced kitchen equipment, utensils, tableware, it's not a place I'd ever purchase anything in those categories. For example, I'm fully stocked in enamel coated cast iron cookware, although it's nice to check out their Le Creuset selection. (Important to me since I've completely stopped using non-stick cookware.) If you follow my reviews, you may be surprised I'm also not in the market for a fully automatic espresso machine that costs over $4K! (To be precise, list their exclusive Jura Z10 for $4299.95 plus tax. Wow! Glad William Sonoma made it a better deal by shaving off that nickel - which amounts to 5 now obsolete pennies.) That being said, I'm sure William Sonoma is a great place for a wedding registry, although could easily believe their non-exclusive items are cheaper online.

Williams Sonoma, I have a question for you: why lie to your customers?…read more I went to this WS location because it's in my neighborhood. I was looking to purchase two items and struck out on both. First item: a 10-inch Heston pan (to replace a much-used one in my kitchen). No dice. They have sets of two or more but you can't just buy one, so I was told by the snippy guy who "helped" me. Strike one. Second item: a SodaStream replacement cylinder. I brought in the empty one and asked about purchasing a new one. They said they're "having problems with the supplier -- nobody can find them anywhere." This was the same story they told me 4 months ago. At that time, I was able to purchase one around the corner at the hardware store. Again today, I was able to easily get one at the same hardware store. My question: why lie? Clearly it is not difficult to get these cylinders, they're available all over the city. Yet WS continues to give customers this bogus excuse. They really should just fess up that they don't want to be in the business of selling these things. WS is still listed on the SodaStream website as a cylinder refill supplier. They should be removed from that list -- and they should just send people around the corner when they ask. It's the decent thing to do. I'm finished with this place.
