After a phone conversation and a resolution for my sister (not me or my shoes though) i can appreciate how they handled the situation and can honestly say they made things right for my sister. Which is what matters most since it was her day. I'm still knocking down stars since there was no resolution for my $100 shoes and i don't appreciate how unprofessionaly the situation was handled at first. I swear this place pays review places to take down posts. I've reviewed them a few times now on different platforms and they keep flagging it for removal. I will repost as many times as I have to to warn others so this review is based from a guest point of view. I see other reviews that allow that so I'll speak based on my experience the day of only and this shouldn't be a "violation of rules" as they're claiming to the websites. Very disappointed in this place. The bridal suite was extremely hot and only had a portable AC that wasn't even turned on when we got there! So we were sweating the entire time we got ready in the room. The bartender was super rude to anyone of color and flat out refused to serve some of them. He made inappropriate remarks to me personally about "how much I was drinking" by the third time I went to get a drink and had such an attitude. I'm glad to hear he got fired from the bride and groom. Also, I believe the staff stole my $100 pair of shoes and almost stole a pair of my Dad's Ray Ban sunglasses but he caught it on time. I, along with many guests, left our stuff at our tables after dinner to witness the cake cutting and the staff moved our personal things and placed them in a pile at another table closer to the building. How rude is it to touch people's personal items?! That's the reason for the shoes going missing so it's on them. They say they don't have them in their lost and found. So where'd they go?? I do not recommend coming here at all.

Mt Woodson was such a lovely place to get married. The staff was amazing and ensured everything went perfectly the day of. Kelsey and Peyton were very easy to reach during the planning process as well. The tasting event offered to try the food was also so fun and the food was delicious! Our guest even said our wedding was the nicest one they've ever been to. Thank you for making our day so special Mt Woodson team!

Getting married at Mt. Woodson Castle was the right choice for us. It was beautiful and so nice to have the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and indoor/outdoor space all in one place. I can't imagine having done our wedding without a day of coordinator and everyone we were put into contact with was helpful and professional. Of course, when you look back on an event like this, there will be things you wish you could do differently. But I'm happy to say that our wedding day went very smoothly and the only things I would change have to do with our other vendors or with myself and my family! My husband and I are already planning on having our ten-year anniversary celebration at Mt. Woodson. We loved it so much we want to do it again!

We loved our wedding here! Back in 2019 we planned our wedding for January 2021. Then the pandemic hit and we postponed it by one year. It was super easy and quick. Leading up to the wedding Peyton, & Brooke were super helpful. They answered the questions we had, and put up with a lot of last minute changes that came about from the omicron surge (lots of last minute cancellations due to the surge). the dress rehearsal was quick and easy too. Then the long awaited big day! We've been waiting for this day for 2 years! the entire day went so smoothly. We didn't have to worry about anything. Peyton set up all the decor beautifully, and we loved seeing our guest book laid out. The reception went smoothly and all the guests commented on how beautiful it was. It really was! We loved the gorgeous trees and mountains! The only slightly less positive thing is that I thought the food could've been better. Couldn't recommend more how great it was to have a wedding here!

I had been waiting to photograph a wedding there, and it finally happened last week! I had "Google scouted" the castle, but the venue and spaces were even more beautiful in person, almost magical, especially after dusk. The castle is huge and full of photographic gems, which made for the perfect setting for my client's wedding day. Aside from the aesthetics, I appreciated the onsite parking, prompt service, and helpful staff. The contracted coordination and catering company (Personal Touch Dining) takes pride in what they do and delivers exceptional service. I will be recommending this venue to future clients who may be looking for an enchanted oak forest and gorgeous architecture for their wedding backdrops. Thank you, Dani, for being such a genuinely caring and skilled coordinator!

Date of event: November 9, 2018 It was my closest friend's wedding, and yours truly was part of the festivities as an usher/escort to the mother of the bride. The location they had chosen was Mt. Woodson Castle all the way up in Ramona. Who knew that San Diego actually had a castle (even though it's a bit out of the way, and it shares space with a golf course)? The venue is gorgeous - the ceremony was held outdoors, and the weather was perfect for all parties involved. Although Mt. Woodson Castle is up in the mountains, the views are beautiful. The interior is vast, with the various rooms (especially the bridal and groom suites) being quite airy and having a rustic feel to the place. The main room itself is quite spacious, even if they had to clear a few of the tables - including the wedding party's - to open up the dance floor. (Speaking of, I kinda considered requesting the DJ to play "The Rains of Castamere," only to find out that not too many of the guests were avid fans of Game of Thrones...) The staff are very professional and kept things moving along as the festivities commenced. Pretty impressive, especially since the wedding ended at 9pm, and everything was packed up and put away an hour later. While parking isn't as close as I would've liked, it was pretty easy getting in and out of the lot. Give this place a chance if you're planning a smaller wedding and want a classy intimate venue to hold it in. And one more thing - congratulations & best wishes to my friends K & J (who know I'm a Yelp Elite and would be reviewing the place, but didn't want me broadcasting who they are just yet)!

This venue is absolutely stunning. Because it's so beautiful we honestly didn't think we could afford it. After our initial meeting with Taylor, we immediately booked it!! It exceeded our expectations and was all within budget. Taylor is so patient, answered ALL my questions and made my dream wedding come true. I'm beyond grateful to have had our wedding at Mt. Woodson. They will not disappoint.

Mt Woodson was the first venue we looked at and we instantly knew it was the venue for us! We loved how unique it was and the history of the building. The pictures online don't do the history justice! We especillay loved the hand painted astrology room. All of the ceremony & reception spaces were amazing but we fell in love with the oak trees and the lower lawn for the reception. Another great part about the venue is how inclusive it is. The coordinators were so helpful in finding vendors for the things we wanted (marquee letters, specific arch, etc). The coordinators were very commmunicative leading up to the day and were happy to help answer all our questions! The provided lists of suggested vendors and that helped us so much since we aren't from the area! They also offer a lot of items from "Amys Closet" which has table numbers, card boxes etc. It was great to have access to these for our day. The day went pretty smoothly and we feel so thankful we found Mt Woodson as our wedding venue. All of our guests really loved it as well, we are not local to San Diego so it was a bit of a drive for some guests, but they all said it was very worth it and loved it as much as we did! I am so glad we got married at Mt Woodson and will have this special memory at this venue for the rest of our lives! I would definitely reccomend this for couples looking for a unique, affordable, all inclusive venue option!

Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Knowlton, November 2016! Mt. Woodson Castle was such an incredible venue for my dear friend Michelle's wedding. When it was first announced that it would be held outdoors at a castle near San Diego, my initial thoughts were... "what castle?!" Fortunately, this venue exceeded all expectations as a ceremony guest, so I could only imagine what it was like for the newlyweds when everything was perfect, seamless, and beautiful that day. The castle is extraordinary with ample spaces for dining, mingling, and experiencing an important day in the lives of someone close to my heart. It truly felt like a fairytale wedding with all the nerdy Star Wars and Harry Potter music chosen by the bride and groom. For the ladies wearing heels, be careful and avoid some of the rocks as you make your way up and down from the outdoor dance floor to the restrooms! Guests were welcome to explore the interior of the castle as well which made it even more magical. If you are considering booking a venue for you or a friend's wedding, let the reviews and photos speak for themselves.

This venue is beautiful, all the guests loved the area and history of the castle. The food was phenomenal, everyone was so impressed and couldn't stop raving about it afterwards. Taylor and Dani are fantastic, leading up to the day and the day of they were happy to help with anything and answered all our questions. We felt safe and comfortable with their COVID precautions and had no guests sick afterwards. I would happily recommend this venue to anyone looking for something inclusive and beautiful!

I stayed in the cozy Sparrow cottage, which was well-decorated and had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and dishes for two. I loved the rocking chair on the patio for coffee and reading. The pool is cute and relaxing, though unheated, but the hot tub is warm. There's a serene stream with frogs croaking at night, and the property is secluded, with a few nearby wineries to explore. This retreat is ideal for couples or a small group of friends. Cons: The hot water is only lukewarm. The bed had some dirt/sand. My TV didn't work, and the bonfire is only available until 4 pm. The animal sanctuary ($7) requires a reservation, but the front desk told me to just show up. When I did, the staff said same-day reservations weren't allowed--and she was a bit cranky--so I couldn't visit. However, it's small enough to view from outside the fence. TL;DR: This ranch is feels safe, peaceful and promising. Once the restaurant opens and cleaning standards improve, it will be a perfect nature escape.

I sat…read moreon this review for far too long because it honestly just made me so incredibly angry and I didn't want to relive the experience. I've also seen how the manager responds to other negative reviews and didn't feel like dealing with the attacks. I had been following Bandy Canyon on Instagram and the experience they promote online nowhere meets the reality. We chose to stay at the Eagle cabin because it had more space for our 2 kids and dog and the other rooms available were much smaller in comparison. The cabin didn't look upgraded online but for $910 for 2 nights, I assumed it had to be nicer than the photos looked. It was actually much, much worse. The website touts upgraded and renovated rooms but the Eagle cabin had clearly not been updated maybe since it had been built. I cannot begin to explain how depressing the cabin felt walking in at night. Floor to ceiling brown shiny walls illuminated by harsh white lightbulbs, no art or decor on the walls, tacky fake plant from the 90s covered in dust, yellow stained and ripped curtains. The floor was ripped and worn. It felt like a prison. The TV was missing the remote so we couldn't even turn on the TV for some added ambiance. It was dead silent. We spent hours turning the place upside down trying to find a remote, my husband was hyperventilating from how suffocating and tacky the room felt with no escape. We almost left as soon as we arrived. I called the front desk over the course of several hours. The front desk couldn't get us a remote that worked and tried calling her manager but couldn't figure out what to do. We hadn't eaten dinner so my husband reluctantly grilled us some food on the sad bbq outside our room in almost complete darkness. It was intended to be a special celebration of our 10-year wedding anniversary and it ended up being a weekend from hell. Did I mention they prohibit you from bringing your own wine? Because they sell wine on site as part of their "winery." However I was told they only had rose when I asked for a red. What is this, a college dorm? I'm going to get in trouble for bringing my own wine to celebrate my 10 year wedding anniversary? Didn't find this out until we were packing our bags for the trip and my husband was looking at their website. I somehow managed to convince my husband to stay the night versus driving home immediately. I really wanted to salvage our milestone anniversary trip! I tried using the shower and the pipes screeched loudly, sounding like someone was screaming in your ear the whole time. I sent video to the front desk. The noise was so unbearable that we couldn't even use the shower. The sound echoed through the entire house, making it impossible to ignore. These elements greatly diminished the comfort and ambiance we had anticipated. Furthermore, a major reason for choosing the ranch was the promise of a pool for our toddler to enjoy, especially as it's promoted across the ranch's Instagram. To our dismay, the pool was not heated and was too cold to use, which was very disappointing. Adding to this inconvenience, the pool bar was closed, further limiting our recreational options.    All the ranch workers we interacted with were supportive and apologetic, agreeing that the Eagle cabin was outdated and unfit for guests. They acknowledged that it should not have been rented out in its current condition. They promised us the manager would make it right. I was told she's get in touch with me after the weekend. It took me messaging them for about a solid month for the manager to finally call me, which by that point I had zero interest in talking to her. We paid good money to stay here and it was a complete waste. For 2 nights we spent almost 1k ($910 to be exact). You'd think for that kind of money we'd get a much nicer experience!

The setting was enhanced by the music from the guitarist. These grounds deserves 5+ stars! The kids in our group (ages 8-13) had fun going on the hayrides, exploring the estate, and playing on the bounce houses. Glad to see that one of the bounce houses was only for kids ages 4 and under. They also offer craft activities on Sundays. We adults enjoyed the music, ambience, and wine tasting, especially since the kids were occupied with activities. The winery served several types of wine and sangria. The adults in our group rated the wines 3 stars- not amazing but not bad either. They served burgers, sliders, hot dogs, bratwurst, and nachos with ground beef, all sourced from cattle raised on their ranch. The kids and adults gave the food 4 stars.
