Bought packing supplies there and as I was in a hurry neglected to notice they charge 3 times the amount as uhaul or all of the other facilities. Called to inquire and Caron was very rude. My boss called to ask about it, was very polite and Caron ended up hanging up on her. Then Caron called her back and ended up hanging up on her again! Very rude and unprofessional! read more

Hey skagit peeps don't ever rent from Mt. Vernon Self Storage. We had called and reserved a unit from them, called every step of our journey from eastern washington, and they said no problem it would be there when we got there. When we got there there was no unit available, the lady didn't check to make sure our name was on any of the units, refused to call the origional person we talked to to find out what happened... Bad service, Bad bussiness practice period.. normaly I would not complain, but that was terrible service.. just plain rude and a waste of mileage, gas and our time. At least they could have done was called and said the unit was not available and they would not be receiving this horrible review.. please dont waste your time and effort with this place. read more

This is a great place to store your belongings. Both Karen and Charles are down home good people. They listened to what I was looking for and were able to get me exactly what I was looking for. They are honest people and treat you like family. Their goal seems to be "to create a place where you can safely keep the things that mean the most to you. " I also had the pleasure of renting a uhaul from them. They didn't try to get me into something bigger than what I needed. Instead, they helped me save money and get the right fit. This is by far the best experience I've had or heard about with a storage facility. We bought a travel trailer and needed a place to store it. I was a new tower and wanted a place that would be low stress to park in. I never felt pressured to hurry up when taking 30 minutes to park. They have a guy who checks the place out frequently in a golf cart that was very helpful. It was inexpensive and they have a military discount. I did auto payment by credit card and they auto sent a PDF receipt each month. The staff was wonderful to work with. And finally, after I bought land to put my trailer on and didn't need the storage any more they made it easy to end the usage. No hassle, took just 5 minutes. What a great business. Caron Ward was very helpful all through the process. She assisted me in obtaining a 10x25 storage unit, along with boxes, and lock. It is very safe, with up to date security systems, posted signage, and a fellow who along with his German shepard, routinely patrols the business. I had a family issue that they were very understanding of, holding my uhaul past the time I had agreed to pick up. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. We arrived to pick up our rental shortly after it opened. We had one person in front of us and when it was our turn she looked up our reservation, proceeded to ask my friend the questions she needed to ask but were duplicates from the other facility we rented the truck from but who did not have a dolly. My friend was irritated but polite. In the middle of helping us she got a walk-in returning their equipment. She stopped working on us, helped him, answered the phone, started to help us, answered the phone, helped another walk-in returning their equipment, didn't bother to explain the question my friend had about his original quote, just basically shrugged him off to which my friend said okay we are on a deadline, let's just get it done and he'd deal with it on the other end, she helped another walk-in, then when the paperwork was finished she grabbed her gloves and said she'd meet us out there to hook it up to our truck. We drove into the yard looking for her. There was a man kitted out in motorcycle garb walking across the grounds. No indication he worked there, no badge, nothing. He waved us to the equipment and after we asked if he worked there, hooked us up, then asked us what we were towing with it. We responded by saying the truck we were attaching it to. He said he needed to attach it to the uhaul we had at home. Why were we not told by anyone prior to picking it up that was the case? Had he not decided to quiz us about what we were towing AFTER it was hooked up it would have been a moot point. "Are you kidding?" we said. My friend is a long-time CDL driver so towing/hooking up a trailer/tow dolly is second nature.We were polite despite that news. He said we could go ahead and take it but we were being 86'd from renting from them in the future because my friend "was a bitch". The employee's words, not mine. We were both okay with being 86'd because in my 30+ years of customer service experience in my job it was the rudest, worst "service" I have ever received. Even if a customer provides cause to think they are a "bitch" you NEVER call the customer that. NEVER. I would gladly drive 50+ miles if I ever had to rent from UHaul again just to avoid this location. read more
