Walking into the place is half the battle and I am so so SO glad I found this operation. I have been welcomed with open, non-judgmental, accepting arms. I am learning a lot about what my body is capable of. If you're the kind of person who can go to Planet Fitness and bang out a killer workout on your own, that's awesome. But I need someone to tell me what to do and watch me do it. Otherwise, it's just not happening. Sad, but true. I love the boxing class. It's my go-to class. I even bought boxing gloves and hand wraps. Who am I? It is totally cathartic to punch a heavy bag in these times of political insanity. I recommend it. The trainers are super knowledgeable and really pay attention to form, which I appreciate. They happily assist with modifications. The schedule as it is now fits my life well. I need a start time of 5pm or later and there are a lot of classes to choose from. If you're on the fence about trying out a new spot to get your sweat on, I cannot recommend a better place than this.

They have a good number of cardio machines and weights along with a back room where you can watch work out programs (we really like this feature and have used it a few times). They also have bathrooms with showers (male and female). It's generally pretty quiet so we rarely have a hard time getting machines. The only reason I am docking them a star is because of their staffed hours. I understand they cannot be staffed 24/7, and I've personally never had a problem, but on a few occasions my boyfriend and I have been in the gym and noticed people loitering outside. On one occasion we left and the gentleman outside (who had been waiting outside for around 25 minutes) asked us if there was anyone inside and we said no. This was a Saturday and apparently he had called and they said they would be there from 11-3 (same hours posted on the door), but there it was 2:00 and no one was there. A similar event happened on another Saturday but it was earlier in the day, around 11:45 when we left the gym (again hours said 11:00-3:00) but no one was there. The poor guy had waited outside for quite some time and had obviously gone out of his way (we saw him go to his car, we can luckily walk over), only to find that no one was there to show him around/sign him up. Saturdays are obviously a busy day for sign ups/inquiries because a lot of people probably work late on weekdays and can't make it over. I think it would be a good idea to post signs on the door if the place won't be staffed as promised. Otherwise great gym! Maybe call ahead before you head down to sign up and make sure that someone will actually be there, though it seems they leave early sometimes so you never know?

It's disappointing to see that nothing has changed at this Y in over a decade. My interaction with Laura was hostile and dismissive and appeared discriminatory. Call it what it looks like. Hatred doesn't elevate anyone; it exposes them. While this location seems stuck in petty, ugly behavior, the rest of us move forward choosing dignity and decency. I was contacted regarding an alleged outstanding balance, even though my bank records clearly show successful withdrawals for both my membership and my daughter's swim lessons. When I disputed this and provided documentation, both services were immediately canceled and a refund was refused. The issue was escalated to the Regional Business Manager, who acknowledged receipt of the documentation but continues to request additional bank statements in order to "investigate," further delaying what should be a simple refund. At this point, the issue is not missing information but unnecessary delays. I am still waiting for refunds for canceled services and expect this matter to be resolved promptly.
