All the employees are such friendly faces and help make the buying process smooth. There are several parking spots to the side of the building, making it easy to pop in and out. I have never had to wait longer than a minute or two to pay for my items. Sushi is a must here! It's so tasty and fresh and easily the best sushi in town. What a gem. This little shop is nestled on Lexington Avenue, and it almost feels like it belongs in a river town, because it is so authentic as far as fish shop goes. The attention was personalized, the service was phenomenal, and the quality of the fish? The best I've seen lately. I picked up a pound of lemon sole (my FAVORITE) and some branzino fillets. I cannot wait to cook them up. What I found particularly unique about Mt. Kisco Seafood was that it is also part grocery store, with beautiful, farm-fresh produce, prepared sauces, and other fish-friendly accoutrements -- think marinades, sushi-rolling tools, panko, etc. They even have a sushi chef on-site. For just under $40, I picked up enough fish to feed my husband and me for two meals, and I'm already eager to return. read more

Years ago I bought shrimp to make for a cocktail party and to my disgust got home and opened the bag and the smell was all it took to see the lack of regard for good tasting food they chose their profit over my meal. No different now with their bench / table outside did you call in an order? We prefer you don't check it's better for your bottom line! At least when you walked through the store you could see what you were paying for. Ask for a steak (pre COVID they worked a quality butcher into the program. Ask for a steak now? Here it is , looks big, PRE PACKAGED! Had zero distinction. When I asked how much, dude asked "does it weigh"? Not enjoyable tasteless , chewy, wont go back! Don't buy the frozen lobster tails! I bought two big ones yesterday and one was rotten. Normally I would let it go, but I bought six large ones back at Easter and three were brown/rotten inside. I gave them a 2nd chance in part because supply chains are stressed right now, but they should know they should change their supplier. Rotten seafood at that consistency suggests something is wrong. I tried to call several times to alert them discreetly, but the phone is always busy. Otherwise this place is very good. read more

I went here because I was in town and I saw the good reviews on Yelp so I figured I might as well stop by since I'm a big lover of sushi. Don't expect cheap though. immediately, when I walked in the front door, there was a big variety of fresh sushi with two sushi chefs making a bunch more. I also heard some customers making requests which is pretty cool but I didn't feel the need to do that because they already had some pretty good-looking rolls laying out. The salmon was very fresh and I for sure will go back there to get that again. I also really loved the salmon cream cheese that they had in a container in back in the fridge. it was like $7 for a small container but they packed it very tightly and there was a ton of salmon in it, so to me, totally worth it. they also sold some fresh bread by the cashier counter, so I bought two rolls to dip into the cream cheese, but the rolls werent something out of this world, so feel free to get your bread at the local supermarket if need be. they had a ton of fresh fish you could buy as well. they also had some fresh tomatoes that looked really good and were nice and firm. to me, that was great, because my local supermarket always seems to have mushy tomatoes. Anyway, solid establishment. Good service. Will come back. read more

The bottom line is: this is a great store. The people who work are are very friendly and the seafood is top quality. They also have amazing bread, and a very good selection of high quality vegetables, groceries, etc. They even have some prepared food and meats. Attended the American Gold Cup at North Salem Hose Farm and had a Lobster Roll $23 with a bag Potato Chips and a side of Corn & Bean Saladin the side. The roll was toasted and the Lobster fresh and delicious! Only problem for me was it was Cash only! With modern technology why don't they join the other food trucks and allow for credit card chargers. Horrible experience. I ordered shrimp for shrimp cocktails for Easter Sunder dinner. I said I wanted large shrimp thinking that "large" really was large. They were cooked and deveined, as I ordered, but $57 bought me quite small shrimp, unattractive to use. Unfortunately I didn't discover this mistake until nearly the time they closed, so had to run to my local market to buy larger ones. The man I spoke to on the phone was unpleasant and defensive. A very overpriced, hurried place that doesn't take the time to listen to what a customer wants. "THIS is the way WE do shrimp cocktail" he said angrily. Their prices are outrageous. read more

If you're cooking yourself they will tell you exactly how to cook your fish. They make their halibut cakes and crab cakes in the store. Super fresh seafood and friendly, helpful staff. Be warned, the weekends can get BUSY, but they're very efficient and keep the line moving. The scallops are perfectly cleaned without the least bit of grit. They're sweet and delicious. The lobsters are feisty and you can tell they're fresh, unlike at some grocery store fish counters. The other seafood looks delicious and they have a broad selection. When you walk in, there are people making the fresh sushi and there's a small produce section as well as a meat counter. They have fresh bread that looks like it would be great for sopping up all that fishy goodness you'll be making. I know they also allow phone ahead orders, but I've had zero issues getting what I've come for. I live in Peekskill and will drive the 30+ minutes for fish just because I know it's super good quality. It can get a bit pricey depending on what you buy, but you also can rest easy that no dyes or other artificial items have been added to your fish! read more

The prepared platters like tuna carpaccio are crowd pleasers, and the people are the best! And now the produce is fresh, local and at times includes some hard to find items- like fiddleheads. I ordered lobster today to pick up Friday and they are going to prepare it for me ready to eat when I pick it up. I'm glad because I have the slightest clue on how to kill a live lobster. Wow. The seafood is great from here, I truly mean that. However, the price of the fresh/frozen seafood is outrageously over priced!!!!! $32.99 was the price of their frozen Alaskan king crab legs. Now I know their legs are just shy of 1lb each, but I know general prices in Manhattan and Westchester for AKC in this weight range and this is INSANE!!! In Manhattan (I won't leave name of company bc I'm not "peddeling" promotion of another company, just showing the reality of this huge flaw MKS has) at extremely REPUTABLE places in the 40s on the East Side the price of AKC in the SAME weight range is $20-25 a lb. In Westchester there are more reputable places in the $20-25 per lb range with the SAME weight range of 1lb per leg!!!! I like MKS but do NOT want to feel as if I'm being robbed when I go to settle the bill!!! I was turned off with the price gouging of their other seafoods but shocked & appalled at this final straw!!! I will not be returning to MKS and I live here in Mt Kisco. I have been going there for many years but this is the straw that broke the camels back!!! I will be going to a much more reasonable priced seafood store in Elmsford!!!! read more

Normally good. Picked up a shrimp platter recently and the so-called "large" shrimp were tiny ... asked them to re-make it on the spot with larger shrimp, which they did. If I hadn't checked, it would have been an embarrassment to put out as originally made up -- so just be very specific when ordering. read more
