Staff is very professional and friendly, always making sure everyone is having a good time. Honestly, all the food is great here but some of my favorites are definitely the carpaccio and calamari appetizer (the calamari is the BEST I ever had, hands down) and their coffee panacota for dessert is also out of this world, just amazing! If you are a bread lover just know they make their own bread in house. 5 stars always!

For appetizers, we got zucchini chips, fried calamari and mussels. The calamari was fried too hard and it had a very salty, spicy Chilean type sauce over it. The zucchini chips were thinly sliced, lightly battered with Parmesan cheese sprinkled over them. They were decent but nothing to write home about. In fact, after having about six or seven of the zucchini chips I began to experience heartburn from the grease. For entrees, my husband had the chicken parm. He said it was too thick and should have been flattened more before frying. It was also very breaded. My brother-in-law ordered the chicken and waffles and he said the chicken tasted day old so after having a bite of one piece of the chicken he pushed the chicken aside and called it a day. I called the waiter over and informed him about the chicken tasting day old. He didn't try to change it out or take it off the bill or get a manager. He just apologized by saying I'm sorry. My crab Mac and Cheese was decent. It wasn't seasoned the way I would have liked but the huge, plentiful chunks of crab made up for that. I ate a third of my dish and packed the rest for home where I will doctor it up to my taste. I've never been to this particular restaurant before. The only reason we came today is because my brother-in-law was here on business and staying at a hotel in the area.

This place checks every box. My guys and I kicked things off at the bar with a couple of vodka on the rocks, setting the tone before sitting down for what turned out to be some of the best food I have had in Jersey City. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the history. Tucked away on a quiet side street with barely any foot traffic, yet still thriving. That tells you everything you need to know. They are doing it right. I will not run down every dish because honestly it does not matter. Everything that hit the table was on point. Do yourself a favor and trust the wait staff. Let them guide you. They know exactly what they are doing and will not steer you wrong. This is the kind of place you keep in your rotation. I am already looking forward to coming back, next time with the family.

I loved the fact that it's a small house like, cozy restaurant with a valet parking lot, which makes it even more convenient . I did, however, find parking on the side street and was even a pleasant little walking distance away. Since we were just a party of two, we did not need to reserve a table , but, if you do have a large party of people, you should definitely call and reserve! The restaurant isn't that big at all, so, there might be a little wait time, if you're there at a busy time. We were there on a Saturday night( two people) and waited for about ,not even 10 minutes. However, it's definitely worth the wait! It's a family friendly atmosphere and the service was very good! Very friendly staff and pretty fast service. I loved how it's all bricked wall and just so cozy! I have heard that their Chicken Parm was absolutely amazing and delicious. And so, we ordered the Chicken Parm and comes with side dish of pasta.( I had the linguine). I didn't expect the Chicken Parm to be a pretty big portion, so that made it even better! (Especially, when you're hungry and have been waiting to try this Chicken Parm I've been hearing about. lol!). Since the portion of the Chicken is pretty big, the side dish of the spaghetti, is just PERFECT! It's sauce and cheese is just mouth watering and a must have!! Now,Let's talk about their House Salad! DELICIOUS!! Their house dressing was so tasty and fresh and definitely makes their salads stand out! That homemade tasting bread was also very good and crunchy! I definitely Recommend, trying their House Salad and Chicken Parm! The house salad portion ,was just perfect for two people. As we loved everything about Laicos, and were completely Stuffed, lol! We couldn't leave ,without having and trying their Dessert , which is the Italian chocolate round like ball, stuffed with ice cream! That just made everything ,even better, before leaving for the night! I highly Recommend and must try!!

"You won't want to cook anymore" he tells us a bit later. He's not wrong. I had the fish special, cod, served puttanesca, with mash potatoes and spinach. He had the rigatoni bolognese. Perfectly cooked pasta. "Everything is homemade," Angelo explained later. Smart and fairly well-priced wine list. We asked why the 2020 Carparzo Brunello di Montalcino was so low priced, and learned the wine has been priced the same since their father closed their Upper East Side location and the kids opened in Newark. "New York food at NJ prices," Angelo explained. "I've never had tiramisu I've liked better", husband told me. "I've never had flan Ive liked better" I told him. (It is coconut flan.) Great service. Wonderful spot. And Bon Jovi has been in twice, most recently he brought his wife. Enough said.

If you loved Moonstruck or Godfather movies, this is your place. Theres a long bar with high seats, small tables, and old school booths so you have great choice of seating. We were seated at a table and instantly impressed by the friendliness of the waiter and visit from the pwner. The menu is classic Italian food (no pizza). They bring out a plate of bruschetta on crostini bread which was fresh and delicious. For food, we had Veal piccata and Chicken Francese. My son had Pasta bolognese. Definitely prefer the chicken over the veal, and my son ate his whole,e bowl ao Id say the bolognese is really good too. Veal was just a little tough but the sauce was totally on point, saved the meal. We will absolutely come back to try more dishes. Homemade pasta will def be next visit. Excellent ambience and great friendly staff. Love it.

Paired with the honey and peppercorn were *chefs kiss*. Just a perfect shareable app. The mortadella was also good but smaller than I anticipated. I'd maybe pass on this next time. Honestly this would have paired perfectly with the toast but it was brought out after the toast was finished. We ordered two pastas: the rigatoni and the malfadine. Both were great and cooked perfectly. The quality of ingredients were a standout in both of the dishes. Pork pampanella was the most tender pork I've ever had. Basically melted in your mouth. Very fatty and heavy (a little too heavy...) but delicious. 4.5/5 overall. Some of the dishes were missing a little something to take it all the way but I'd still recommend this spot tho. Also it's BYOB!

This was creamy, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The now classic honey ricotta toast never disappoints ($14). They currently have my favorite, the Malfaldine with speck, grana padano, and black pepper ($22) - Get this. They no longer have the baccala and potato skin with chive ravioli. This was a fun play on potato skins. Some of the pasta had the baccala while others had the potato mascarpone. Although entertaining, it was less memorable than the other dishes. The smoked paprika pork shoulder was a dish that could feed 4. It's a massive cut of meat. While I did enjoy this, I needed more of polenta or a sauce. As anticipated it was very meat forward ;) For dessert I highly recommend their classic olive oil cake. This was moist and had a small Tablespoon of a guava sauce. For $10 don't miss this. The salted chocolate cake was a bit dry, but satisfied the sweet tooth. This went well with a double espresso. We stayed until closing and in fact were seated 15 mins past closing. Our waiter was kind and charming. He gave us his recommendations. Despite the menu being small and rotational, it always feels like there is something new and exciting to try. The Rutabaga and leek was that for me this time. I assume this is a winter dish. I recommend trying this before they move to a Soring menu and I wouldn't miss it!
