Since we weren't going to be there very often we wanted a 'smart' monitoring system that would cover all the bases - thermostat, fire/smoke, security and floods. I had no idea where to begin - didn't even know the right questions to ask. But luckily I found Jesse and the great folks at Vermont Security. Within 20 minutes of our first phone call Jesse guided me to exactly what we needed, worked with me on pricing, and had a technician come out and install everything a few days later. Everything is working perfectly in the unit, and we have the ability to monitor and control all systems through the easy-to-use alarm.com app. Mostly, we have peace of mind. I highly recommend Vermont Security and very glad we found them.

His wife, Caroline, is very friendly and easy to work with if you have questions in between appointments. Johnny came to do an estimate and see what kind of work I needed to be done. His estimate in both time and fees was accurate. He also provided free education on what he suggested I replace in terms of light fixtures for efficiency, so I was ready for his next visit with all the new fixtures. I had wanted a ceiling fan in my family room, as there's no a/c in there and it gets hot in summer. Due to the amount of wiring changes and holes in ceiling and wall to be made (I had three ceiling lights and wanted to replace the one in the center with the fan), Johnny suggested a wall fan, which I'd never heard of before he suggested it. I got a great one off Lowes that was super affordable for him to install. The ceiling fan I purchased for that room would now be used to replace my master bedroom fan that had no lights. I had put in a video doorbell myself, but the doorbell would not chime. He tested it and found that my doorbell chime needed replacing. So I got the electric chime to go with it for his next visit. The lighted ceiling fan my dad and friend put in was not done correctly; I didn't know they should not be on a dimmer, so he had me get a single pole light switch to switch them out. He also helped me choose the right smart dimmer switch for my family room and he put my kitchen lights on a dimmer because I'd felt that they were too bright without it. He put the lighted ceiling fan in my bedroom. He put the wall fan in my family room. He bought and put in a new light for my utility room as mine had shorted and a new light in one of the bathrooms, providing me with extremely affordable and attractive options. He educated me about the effectiveness of LED, so I bought all new ceiling fixtures that were exactly the same but used LEDs. I saw my electric bill go down $20 in 4 weeks! I'm extremely pleased with his service, trustworthiness and pricing. I will continue to use his services as needed and highly recommend him.

Nothing compared to BM&G! Update: counters are in and lovely. Communication from BM&G somewhat lacking. Installation process again lacked communication but the guys were friendly. We found a beautiful piece of Vermont Marble and paid for it in advance. From that point on, everything went downhill. The templating took forever to schedule, the cutting and finishing took twice as long as we were told it would, and both times we called to get information about delivery, the response was curt and evasive. We finally received the vanity top at the very end of our renovation project, but that too was problematic. Despite the fact that our carpenters were on site, there was absolutely no communication or attempt to work with the carpenters who would have willingly made adjustments to the wall so the backsplash could fit snugly and evenly. Once we noticed the gaps allowing water to get behind the vanity, as well as the uneven sealing of the stone, we called to talk about what could be done. The response we got was rude and surly, and a promise to send someone out to look at the vanity top has not happened. If you are a homeowner with a small to medium size project, I would absolutely recommend you find another vendor.
