As luck would have it, a technician from Dion Locksmith was already on-site working on another job and kindly agreed to help me out afterward. While I truly appreciated the locksmith's willingness to assist and found him to be professional and efficient, I was very surprised (and disappointed) to be charged a $98 emergency service fee on top of the labor cost--especially considering I didn't request an urgent dispatch, and he was already there. I understand that companies have policies, but in this case, the policy felt unfair and inflexible. Charging for an "emergency visit" when no extra travel or urgency was involved doesn't sit right. Bottom line: The technician himself was great, but the pricing policy felt excessive and lacked transparency. If you ever find yourself locked out at U-Haul, bring a drill and a flat-head screwdriver--you may not need a locksmith at all.

I wanted to find out how much it would cost to replace all the door levers in the house. I visited a big box store (Home Depot or Lowes) and get an idea of the price for all the doors in the house. The disadvantage of that would be two things. One the door keys would not match and I've found that when professionals purchase hardware, they get a better quality than what the big box stores sell. Dion's prices for hardware was lower what i expected . Several weeks later, it wasn't an emergency, it took two visits from a very friendly and professional technician to install all the internal and outside locks and door levers. He adjusted each door so that all of them close like you would expect from new doors including the dead bolts locks. I was a pretty good technician back in the day but sometimes a seasoned professional does a better job than I could. Also the doors look a ton better than before. Thank you Dion's. I can recommend their service for any locksmith type problems you might have.
