Bottom Line: A great showroom and a helpful staff albeit in a circuitous spot. I've been looking all over for the perfect tile for my wet bar backsplash. I think I went through about 30 samples from local stores, online retailers and regional chains. I was even seriously considering a pricey hand-made tile. Running out of options, my sister and I went to the MSI showroom in Jessup. She quickly found a backsplash tile she liked for her kitchen project and I said, "I love it." Scott was super helpful getting us a sample of the tile I loved as well as a few other contenders. For the record, I had combed all over MSI's website and ruled out the tile online that I fell in love with in the store. I've decided that researching tile online is nearly useless. MSI doesn't not sell direct but there are plenty of local companies who resell for MSI. Some of MSI's products are also sold at big box stores and through online retailers. I was easily able to find the tile I loved and its now sitting next to my wet bar awaiting installation. MSI seems like a very organized place to shop. We were greeted upon entering and asked to sign in but there were no high-pressure sales techniques. We were free to wander around the tile showroom. In addition to the tile showroom in the front, there is also a massive indoor slab yard and I think for safety reasons visitors do need to be escorted in there. I don't think these folks really want my business or my money. Tried the website - it wouldn't load. Tried the general phone number - I get someone in India who has no idea what a stone for the hearth is and who says he will connect me to a person in the Baltimore store. After 5 minutes on hold I was transferred to a line that sounded like it was defective and a finally a voicemail greeting tells me to leave a message. Not many granite samples to take away! Made a 1.5 hour drive to MSI in Jessup. Huge store I went specifically to find a granite color for a kitchen remodel. That said, out of 4 colors that I found I was only able to get a sample of 1 which was my third choice. I was told to order samples on line which Ihave tried to do several times without luck. Sad to say I didn't find MSI helpful in the store or online. read more

The young lady who walked us around was very sweet and knowledgeable. We were able to find the perfect slab there which they shipped free to our fabricator. I had a terrible experience at MSI Jessup. I went there because of a Home Depot reference in order to place a special order for natural stones. When I arrived, an Indian lady, who seemed to be the owner, answered all my questions with "No, we don't have it." I asked for suggestions on other natural stones and a catalog, but everything was denied until I spoke in Spanish. I am Latina, but I look Black or "African American." I believe that she discriminated against me because of my appearance, and only provided service after I spoke Spanish. At that point, she called a white guy to assist me. Although he took my name and number, I decided not to purchase from MSI or Home Depot, as MSI is a Home Depot vendor. I refuse to support a business that discriminates based on appearance. I had a purchase valued at over 100k in natural stone, but I chose to take my business elsewhere. It doesn't affect me personally as a Latina, but it bothers me that an immigrant tried to discriminate and judge based on appearance to the extent of denying services. I encourage everyone else to do the same. DO NOT BUY FROM MSI AND ASK HOME DEPOT TO REMOVE THEM AS THEIR VENDOR. read more

Visited MSI twice recently. Both times we walked out, looked at each other and commented about how amazingly friendly and helpful the staff was. In this day in age, with all the negativity, it was an absolute pleasure doing business with this company. Our first contact was Susan. Friendly and informative. 2nd visit, we asked for Susan and unfortunately she was with someone else. We would have waited, but Heer at the front counter jumped right in. She as well was excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. This might bite me in the rear later as there are more countertops that could be upgraded. read more

I purchased two slabs from MSI via my fabricator. During my selection visits, I worked with Will Montoya. He was amazing! While I was on-site, he answered all my questions. When I called later with follow-up questions, he returned my call with answers. He's a great human -- welcoming, jovial, and knowledgeable. I visited other stone providers during my countertop search. Those other companies didn't come close to the positive experience I had while working with Will at MSI. read more

It was an odd customer service experience. I did appreciate their safety measures, which are clear. However, I was basically ignored most of the time I was there. They would only pay attention to me or answer my questions when I hunted someone down. The original person who was assigned to help me, disappeared at one point, leaving me in the warehouse section. When I went looking for her, I found her about to leave the building with her purse in hand. Not a word to me. It was just bizarre. I'm not a difficult customer, I just needed help figuring out how I wanted to spend my $5000+. They were also out of stock of my preferred variety of quartz and I had to ask 2 different associates before I could find out if they were getting more and if so, when. read more

Arrived on a Thursday evening. Employees were complaining about other customers and cursing as we arrived. Didn't make for a pleasant experience. The person who helped us didn't offer any recommendations, didn't know where all the materials were, and hustled us out the door. We stopped at the MSI warehouse after being told about it by a sales agent from Granix. It was very helpful to be able to see full slabs and compare several of the quartz that we are considering for our remodeling effort. The staff were very friendly and professional. As an added bonus, they had free samples available which helps because the warehouse lighting is so different from the lighting in our kitchen. read more

I had a horrible experience at MSI stonework. The staff did not know what they were doing and messed up my order selling my quartzite that I purchased from them to another person and then trying to give me a different stone thinking I would not know the difference. After I noticed their mistake and complained they did not apologize nor had any resolution to their mistake. Also, in calling the store numerous times the operator does not even know who works there. It was a very frustrating and it was a horrible experience and has made my kitchen remodel stressful and not enjoyable. There is no customer service what so ever. read more

We need to get a part of our countertops in the kitchen replaced and our contractor told us to visit MSI to see if they had a comparable slab. Check in process was easy and we were taken back to the showroom within minutes. Representative was courteous and helpful, despite believing we will not find a similar slab from 8 years ago (we brought the small sample piece from back then), we found a piece we like after they had to lift few pieces from a giant stack. Overall, very easy process and time efficient. They also hold the specific piece for you for 7 days. read more

MSI is easy to get to. They have a beautiful display area. I did say I was just browsing the first time I went so no one followed me around. The signs on the samples are microscopic. I could barely read the names on the upper level of sample tiles. Once I found the names of interesting tiles I went up to the front of the store to ask the young lady if that design came in a floor tile she had to go to the computer and still couldn't answer my questions. She did get me a sample of one of the tiles. It was a broken piece and it had no label on it.It is hard for me to stand so it was hard to look tiles up on a standing only computer site. The second time I went to MSI I asked to speak with a sales person. Another friendly young lady looked around but did not see one. She took my husband and I out to the wearhouse to look at large quartz countertops. She was able to get me a sample. Again, no label. read more

Since you cannot really be sure when looking at a 9x5 inch sample, I went to see the full slab of a quartz countertop for my kitchen remodel. COVID precautions were followed and the person took me directly to the slab I was interested in. She did not rush me while I looked at it. Warehouse seemed very organized and clean though finding the front door wasn't easy. If you take the entrance right next to the railroad track, the door is 3/4 the way around the building (past all the bays). I wasn't shopping so can't say anything about value or reliability as I am purchasing through my contractor. read more

Went on a Thursday night to look at/select a granite slab. Erica was on the warehouse floor and assisted my husband and I. She was very friendly and took a lot of time with us. The particular granite we were looking for was not out on the floor. She had several slabs from the warehouse brought together for us to view. She went over each slab checking to see if there were any scratches or cracks. She answered all of our questions and concerns. If we need to go back I will definitely look for Erica again for assistance. read more

This place is amazing. It is an enormous showroom and warehouse all under roof. You can view whole slabs of a large assortment of stone that normally you can only see as small samples in other showrooms. It is clean and very well organized and the staff is attentive and knowledgeable. You can choose the actually piece you want to use and they will put it on hold for you. They also send you home with a sample. If you're looking at stone counter tops you have to check them out. read more

Great Showroom and Sales Lady was excellent. Terrible support staff and management. Called back to give the Sales Rep the Selections we wanted her to Quote to our Distributor and was told they don't talk to Homeowner?? They talked to me in the Warehouse for an hour?? The Rep. ask me to call back with my final selections. I tried to explain this to the person in the Office that answered and in the end he hung up on me. I called back 10 minutes later and a different person answered, gave me the same run around and refused to let me speak with the Sales Rep. Fortunately there are many other places around town to deal with that are actually Customer oriented and helpful beyond belief. Recommend you go other places. These people do not want your business and have no desire to help you in any way. Worst Customer Service I have experienced in years. Spend your money where you are appreciated!! read more

The check-in process was easy and we were supplied a clipboard for notes. Once shown into the showroom we were allowed to wander at our leisure. The selection was sizeable for granite but not as extensive as we were lead to believe...few exotics and blues. More standard colors. read more

MSI not only has a wonderful selection of stone but the employees - from the salespeople to the guys in the warehouse are professional, courteous and patient. I've made 4+ trips and my sales associate, Tejal Patel, has been so patient with me while I decided on what I wanted. She worked with me to locate a second slab of a stone I had my heart set on from an alternate MSI location. I was under a time crunch and she did what she could to help the process along and have it shipped in. She was sympathetic, knowledgeable and super helpful. I'm excited for my Reno to be complete! No sign from main road, but at least the Wayfair people could direct. Amazing selection, but not sure how the reviews that involved staff happened; we were told, "quartz on right, granite on left" and that was it. Other than assuming those marked Home Depot Grade A are cheaper than Home Depot Grade B, most are not HD and there is no clue as to relative price. I realize they price differently to different installers, but at least knowing relative pricing would be helpful. read more

After having waited 2 months for them to open back up to the public, I was hoping to have received personalized assistance during my set appointment time. Instead, Milan took me to the showroom and said to grab him if I had any questions. I noticed other customers received more personalized showroom floor assistance from other MSI sales reps. Also, when I did manage to ask Milan a question on the various quartz levels and pricing, he didn't know the answer to the differences between Level A, B & C Home Depot slabs. IMO that's a basic question that he should have an answer for. I realize they can't give our pricing, but at the very least they should know what the different slab levels are. This way I'm not wasting my time choosing slab samples that don't match my fabricator's level pricing. So in short, while the MSI showroom is much nicer than Castle Wholesalers, their sales reps need to be more hands on attentive to fabricator customers. read more

Lots of choices, but a lot of samples not in the bins or couldn't reach them. Samples not marked & no markers to mark them with but I was able to leave a list & they could mail them. It's close enough that I can just make a second trip which I'd prefer anyway. When you're spending money like this you want to be able to make a couple trips to be sure. read more

We have been to several places to look at available granite & MS International was just one more stop. What a great place! I noticed that another yelp reviewer complained about the selection and that they "mainly supply Home Depot." That was not our finding. We were walked around by a very knowledgeable person who gave us great information regarding what to look for at different price points. While he did not discuss the cost of the slabs, he showed us what it was that drove the cost up. Very helpful; we wanted to know! And, while they did have clearly marked Home Depot Granite, they had lots of other granite and loads of quartz. He described stone and the movement of granite and its relationship to cost. He was not in a hurry and we felt as though he valued our business. A great Experience! read more
