Margy C.

We have used Architecture Stones previously for our kitchen countertop. That was a large order and we were pleased with the service (measurement, installation, meeting deadlines as promised) so we came back again when we renovated our bathroom. UNFORTUNATELY, the associate that "helped" us this second time around was anything but helpful. If you get a Lucy . . . RUN! She took us outside to look at the remnants and didn't come back for us after quite some time. We had to go get her. Once she came out and we showed her what we wanted to get, she answered a personal phone call and continued with that conversation for several minutes. We had to walk away as we weren't interested in listening to her entire conversation. Instead of hanging up after that and helping us finalize our purchase, she totally disappeared by going back into the office. After we went back looking for her, she brought another associate to help us. She said she was going to help another customer and walked away. Though we thought the second person was friendly and didn't abandon us, it seemed like it was her first day on the job. And I am not complaining at all about that because she really did try to help and that is much more appreciated that being ignored and abandoned. When we wanted to see more of the slab that we intended to purchase, she got someone to move the heavy stones and pull out the slab. BTW, the person that came to pull out the slab was the best person there. He was extremely knowledgeable and offered excellent advice about our selection. I must give praise where praise is due. His name was Manny, the Production guy. Anyway, Manny talked to us about seeing the slabs in the sunlight versus being inside where we'll see it all the time in our bathroom. He has an eye for patterns and colors and I can't say enough how much his expertise informed us. Since we brought the vessel sink that we were planning to use for our bathroom, he showed us options for where to place it no the counter as well as which position to place the faucet. I made sure that everyone in that shop that day knew how much we valued Manny's assistance. But why two stars? One star for my previous experience and another star for Manny. But problems with Lucy persisted. I don't understand why she was still the person assigned to our order but she told us it would be ready for pick up on Wednesday. When we called, it was not. She said to come back on Saturday. We came on Saturday and one of the backsplash pieces was too long. It needed to be cut another half inch which she made us mark ourselves with a pen. And as we were leaving, Lucy was running around looking for a piece of paper for me to sign to say that the counter was picked up. But she couldn't find the paper until one of her colleagues helped her out. Lucy told us the corrected piece would be ready on Monday. I came about an hour before closing. She told me to just ask for her when I come so I did not bring any paperwork. Of course she wasn't at the desk when I arrived and someone asked for my order number. Gosh, if she had told me that I needed that I would have brought it. When they finally found her on the premises, she said the order wasn't ready and told me that I should have called. She basically told me it was my fault for coming on the day she told me and I wasted my time because I didn't call. I told her she could have given the courtesy of calling me -- the customer -- that it wasn't ready to save me time. That was all she had to do. Fast forward to Wednesday. We called and she answered. Instead of telling us the order was ready, she hands the call over to Hubert who was quite abrupt. When we went to pick it up, someone just pointed to the small backsplash and said it's there. Not a word of thanks for being a customer or have a nice day, blah blah blah. When we made this second purchase, they noticed that we were repeat customers in their system. I told them that we still have another bathroom to renovate and that we would come back. I think after this experience, we would not.

All showcase quality IMO. Thus, we've plenty of recent experience with KBS outfit and feel confident in making the highest recommendation. In summary - KBS is not too big nor too small, not too expensive but not cheap, so they were just right for us - average homeowners who seek the very best value. In this regard, KBS was just right. Some highlights........ 1) The crew is experienced and cohesive. They've been together for a good long time. They work well together and we never observed inefficiency. They just work hard all day long. 2) I never had to worry about workers in our home. Honest, polite, professional, kind, and responsive are words I'd use to describe them. 3) Communications were timely and valuable. My advice is to take notes of every communication for reference. In one case we forgot it was our responsibility to acquire an appliance. Uh oh, it was our fault and a written record would have been useful to refer to. Yikes! 4) The budget estimates were honored. there was no bait and switch. Prices were transparent to us. 5) We enjoyed reviewing recommended selections of cabinets, floor, hardware, appliances, sinks etc. Today, we feel somewhat knowledgeable with KBS as our tutors. 6) Cleanup and construction debris was timely. Thanks! 7) The crew was OK with our two dogs. I think our doggies missed them when the jobs were done. Final note: The sign of a great contractor is NOT that nothing goes wrong. Rather it is how the contractor responds when something does go wrong. In this regard, KBS took care of problems I was not even aware of, and when I was, they swarmed to make it right ASAP. For example, a quartz kitchen countertop cracked. Surprised. The piece was faulty. The crack was not due to poor installation. We only had to make one call to Dan who took care of it. Easy peasy. No hassles or haggles about responsibility or cost. Perfect. I've a few more impressive examples. So the more work we observed, the more confident we became in KBS. In my life "trust" is earned and hard to achieve in the contracting world. So, it is with pleasure to say KBS was trusted. We'd hire them again whenever we have a future need. Simply excellent!

This was a big project and from the moment we met with Dan, we knew we wanted to work with him. He helped us redesign our first floor (including kitchen and bathroom), meeting with us multiple times to come up with a design that worked for our needs. He helped us figure out what materials and design elements worked for our home, really going above and beyond to help us make a lot of decisions. His experience meant that he was able to take our vision of what we wanted our home to be and turn it into reality. The actual project itself could not have gone better. The crew was phenomenal. Their attention to detail and quality of work was exquisite. We did not run into a single issue for this entire project and the final result massively exceeded our expectations. AND it finished ahead of schedule! We HIGHLY recommend The Kitchen and Bath Studio. Dan and his crew were wonderful to work with and the quality of their work is exceptional.

The work the team did was beautiful and a great value for the price. We went a little over 10% over budget, which is just about what I expected for a project like this, and I was pleasantly surprised that we actually finished a few days early. The work comes with a 3-year warranty too (which we needed in the past and have had no trouble using), which gives extra peace of mind. Each person on the project - Elena the project manager, Juan the site supervisor, Alexa the designer, John the estimator, and especially the lead technician Cornelio was a pleasure to work with. As with any renovation, there are always surprises and hiccups along the way, but the team handled everything professionally, even when I was stressed and occasionally cranky. One thing of particular note was how much the team was willing to work with me when the inevitable surprises came up. There are things that nobody can foresee, which usually results in a change order and extra cost, but then there are those little things where everyone leaves a conversation with a different impression. In those latter instances, I always really appreciated how willing everyone was to meet me halfway and to make sure I felt good about how things were going and confident that we were doing right by each other. All in all, I highly recommend them and they will be my first call next time I have a project!

Their work ethic was matched only by their incredible attention to detail, the quality of the finishing throughout the entire space is top-notch. Kitchen & Bath Depot just finished a major renovation of our kitchen (new cabinets, countertops,…read morebacksplash, ventilation and appliances). We can't be more thrilled. We had used KBD before on a simpler renovation (new master bath shower) and we were delighted with their work, so didn't hesitate to engage them for this far more elaborate project. Why are these guys such great remodelers? Let me list just a few of the reasons. * Completeness: Except for appliances, KBD displays and sources everything that is required. You aren't sent around to countless vendors to look at their wares and then be the middleman in negotiating appropriateness, availability, prices, etc. * Design assistance: You are offered as much or as little as you need. But be forewarned, Rich and Olga are likely to be much more familiar with design issues than you - so that when they make their suggestions, you will hit yourself on the side of the head and wonder why you didn't think of these issues or ideas yourself. * Craftsmanship: With remodeling, everything doesn't always exactly fit together. Walls are not perfectly plumb, corners not perfectly square, ceiling heights may be wavy and floors are not perfectly flat. Thus, craftsmanship is required to neatly mount cabinets and appliances to that they look seamless. KBD installers (who are direct employees, not subcontractors) all made the extra effort to ensure that everything (even stuff that we would never would have noticed) was done right and looked perfect. Thanks, Tony, Walter, Mark, Raphael and Steve. * Predictability: You are told what work and workers are coming next; everyone arrives on time; and other than for weekends (and two snow days) work is done every day. Our full kitchen remodel was completed in just four weeks - slightly faster than initially estimated. * Neatness: Drop clothes and dust shields were laid/affixed every day. And no day ended without a through clean-up of the job site. * Price: As noted by other commenters, KBD's prices, while not discount rates, are very fair for the extent and quality of work being done - and below some quotes that we received from other remodeling firms. Further, you are not nickel-and-dimed for extra costs from minor changes or challenges. * Peace of mind: Remodeling can be stressful. You worry that things will not be done right, that you are paying too much, or the final product will just not look good. Hire KBD and you can put those worries aside. The job will be done better than you will have imagined, it will look beautiful, and you will be happy to have made the decision to contract with KBD.

They worked with us on the design so everything was exactly what we wanted and the project manager Mark was always available to answer questions when the guys were working on the house. We now have an amazing kitchen with lots of storage and a bathroom with the soaking tub I've always wanted! Overall we had a great experience with them and would use them again in the future.
