The reason for my one star review is simple: SO OVERPRICED! $27 for burger and fries are you kidding me! This is a straight up normal burger you'd get from McDonald's. The fires are nice, but for $27 I can buy McDonalds fries, Uber Eats eats some cheese, onions and pickles and save money. Literally this place is only for people that like McDonald's and also hate money. This is the first and last time I'm trying a ghost restaurant. read more

I had some questions getting started and the owner Juan was very accommodating. But the real kicker was when my husband and I ate our first meals. The Mongolian beef and spaghetti with meatballs. They were.... absolutely delicious. My husband was so impressed and ate every single bite. He brought the steak to lunch the next day - delicious. For dinner we ate the steak tacos - again absolutely delicious. I have had so many meal delivery services in Chicago and this was absolutely the best we have had. It is so well seasoned and so fresh even after being cooked in the microwave. I also really love how much the owner clearly cares about his business. Always a good sign to me. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a convenient, but healthy way to have some delicious options. I will be a customer for a very long time.

I didn't need additional condiments and that never happens for me. The fries were good too and came with a delicious aioli. For beverages, I loved my Arnold Palmer. I also tried a cocktail--the Long Island Iced Coffee. It was pretty strong. I added a shot of bourbon cream to it and that sweetened it up and made it perfect for me. Unfortunately, I didn't have room for dessert. Cute restaurant. Cozy inside. They have an outdoor patio as well. If you don't have a reservation, be prepared to wait. Excellent food. I've heard the wait is insane, so it's recommended to make a reservation on Resy. Off the bat, I was already side-eyeing this process. I had to pay $2.49 per person to secure a reservation, which is crazy. This is not a deposit either, which I would have understood. I've just never encountered a restaurant that charges a fee to make a reservation. Upon arrival, we got seated immediately (which I would hope so, after paying to make a reservation). Our server collected our orders quickly and our food came out about 15-20 minutes later. CRISPY FRIES - 13.99 Charging $14 for a side of fries is wild enough, but topping it with a completely solid fried egg was baffling. I'm not sure what the culinary vision was. Are we supposed to mash it all together into some sort of hash brown situation, or awkwardly eat the fried egg on its own? The fries themselves were fine, nothing to write home about. However, I did enjoy the mornay sauce and garlic aioli that came on the side. SINGLE CHEESEBURGER - 17.99 +3.49 for egg Over $20 for a burger that doesn't come with sides? I was a little disappointed my burger came with a side of a knife instead. I thought the whole gimmick was having the knife strike straight down into the burger. Beyond that, the burger wasn't anything unique. The bun itself was dry and mid, not the soft and fluffy bun I had envisioned. Everything else was fine -- not bad, but certainly not great. While it wasn't a bad burger, I can't help but feel incredibly disappointed given the hype around Au Cheval burgers. My friend told me the way to "fully experience" Au Cheval is to get the cheeseburger plus both the egg and bacon add-ons, which our server also recommended. I did try a piece of my friend's bacon with my burger and it does add a depth of smoky sweetness. However, that becomes a 17.99 + 3.49 + 6.99 = 28.47 for a burger. That's insane. The add-ons themselves cost more than half of the burger. I'm not doing that to my wallet. Sorry, but this was a disappointing experience for me. I'd rather just go to Shake Shack, which at least comes with tasty and juicy burgers for 1/3 of the price.

When Kasama received its 2 Michelin star 2 years in a row, we had to make sure that we dine here. Paying for Filipino food is usually cheap, but this place is totally worth it. Many of us Filipinos are very critical when we eat at Filipino restaurants because we always say my mom or aunt cooks the dish so much better. The 13-14 course meal was perfect from start to finish. The weather conditions weren't great as it was raining moderately. This probably deterred at least some people from lining up. I got there around 12 PM and waited for about an hour, which is still long, but not as horrific as I thought. I also ended up with the last breakfast sandwich ticket since the group in front of me decided it wasn't worth it to wait in line so they gave it to me. This basically was the sign for me to stay in line. The ordering process was pretty simple. We ordered at the counter and prayed that there would be seats opened. Initially, we made ourselves comfortable at the bar, but we were able to migrate to a table shortly after. Our drinks came out within a few minutes after ordering and our food came out within 10. 12 OZ OH, HOT YAM! - 6.85 Initially, this was the drink I ordered. However, I thought it was too sweet and didn't feel like the ube flavor was that strong. My friend liked it more than the drink she ordered, so we ended up swapping. ICED BLACK SESAME LATTE - 6.85 This was the drink I swapped for, and the iced version was perfectly refreshing and nutty. It also wasn't too sweet. I would prefer a roastier black sesame flavor, but this was good enough. LONGANISA, EGG, AND CHEESE SANDWICH - 12 The breakfast sandwich didn't love like it'd be anything special, but the bun was incredibly soft and fluffy, with a custard, soft egg. The longanisa was well-seasoned, with the sweet & savory flavors bursting after each bite. I can see why the breakfast sandwiches at Kasama are so popular. Would highly recommend if you're able to snatch one. PORK BELLY ADOBO - 19.50 This item is weekend only, so I had to try it! I also love a good adobo rice. Despite it being pork belly, it was surprisingly not too heavy or fatty. The poached egg mixed in made each bite creamier. The pickled vegetables and chopped scallions were a nice touch to add a bit of tang and aromatics. I did take home half of the rice bowl home to enjoy for breakfast the next day. While this was good, it was probably the weakest of the three food items we ordered. FILIPINO BREAKFAST - 19 +1 for combo (longanisa and tocino) My friend ordered this, which came with a serving each of longanisa and tocino, a bed of garlic rice, sunny side up egg, pickled vegetables, and garnish. I had a bit of both meats, and the tocino was definitely my favorite. It was juicy, a good mix of sweet and savory -- reminded me of the Cantonese BBQ pork belly. I would definitely order something with tocino upon future visit. This was a pricy lunch, but the food was good and tasted cleaner than I had expect. I had a great time trying brunch at Kasama and would love to visit for their dinner menu when I'm in Chicago again.

The crust was thin and crispy, with a large air cavity, making it very soft and fluffy. The salted egg yolk has just the right balance of sweetness and saltiness, and wasn't too cloying. Garlic Cheese Brioche Bun蒜香奶酪麵包: Perhaps its more Taiwanese name is "八蒜包" (Eight Garlic Bun). Its appearance and taste were very similar to those I've had at Taiwanese bakeries in mainland China. The cheese and garlic flavors were very strong, but the bread itself was slightly coarse. Hojicha Latte: The whole milk was very milky, but the hojicha flavor felt a little weak.
