This place has gone downhill! I recently had a pizza delivered. It tasted to me like something was spoiled, the sauce? the cheese? Either that or they have started using substandard products. I actually threw my pizza in the trash after a few bites. Now the restaurant they have in Street, MD is, and always has been, excellent. This location has had issues from the start. It improves for short periods of time then goes right back to substandard food. I'll be looking for another place to buy my takeout food. Don't waste your money. read more

Wow wow wow, my favorite cheesesteaks were from Ravage Deli until I had Mr Y's. I got a Chesapeake cheesesteak in a bowl (no bread) which comes with steak, crab dip, cheddar, and fried onions. Literally the best cheesesteak I've ever eaten. The meat was tender, the crab dip was full of flavor, and it was sooooo cheesy! My friend got a mozzarella stick grilled cheese and I wish I wasn't low carb cause it looked amazing. The bread was nice and toasty, and the perfect bread to stand up to the sauce without getting soggy. She said the fries were delicious too; not your standard takeout fries. Thick cut but not soggy. It's hit or miss with Mr. Y's. I ordered a cold roast beef sub. I was told it had changed. So, they heat it up (it's on their cold sub menu) and then give me cold roast beef like you'd chunk up from a roast in the oven. Chunky and hard to bite (felt like left over pot roast from home). They don't use a deli style roast beef there its thin and has a nice bite. I will say my German Shepherd enjoyed those beef chunks, but I threw the rest away. When a food requires too much pull to try to chew it then it's not worth the money. It becomes a chore to eat it. read more

Mr.Y's Is our "Go To" carryout because they have consistently good food, plenty of it and at a good price, and then there was tonight's total strike out. I'll try to make this short and sweet, I got a Lamb Gyro with extra meat and it was the absolute worst Gyro I have ever had in my life, and I've had a lot of Gyros over my 70 years. First, the meat, I'm sure it was good, at one time, but the line cook must have just thrown it in the microwave, hit the button, and over-nuked it because he turned it into shoe leather. Advice: throw out the microwave!, people don't know how to cook with it. Nukes are good for soups and liquids, but not meats and fish, I don't give a wack what the directions say. Second, the "homemade tzatziki sauce topped with tomatoes" - the homemade tzatziki sauce was horrible and not a sauce at all, when I first opened the wrapper I thought somebody had made a mistake and sprinkled feta cheese on the Gyro, it was no where near the runny, sloppy, tasty cucumber sauce I'm used to. Advice: stop making your own - it sucks, go buy it by the gallon from Sysco or US Foods. Third, topped with tomatoes turned out to be one piece of a tomato, same with the onion - one little piece. What'sup with that, even a first day rookie knows better then that. Such a disappointment, Mr Y's, learn how to do a Gyro the right way, or stop selling the thing. Of all the times we have ordered food from Mr Y's this is only the second disappointment we have suffered, the other time was on a Sunday too. Maybe that's the lesson here, don't go to Mr Y's on a Sunday their team is not up to the task. Tonight's adventure is not a deal breaker. We will still go to Mr.Ys - overall they have good food and we love their Pizza's, except on Sunday's. Everybody screws up, tonight was Mr Y's turn, we'll be back. 4 stars is solid! read more

This place is very close to home. Love that you can order online and I definitely prefer their pizza to the cardboard from the place across the street from them. I have to agree with the other reviewers about the service. Be sure to be clear when you order and check it when it arrives. When I can't hear what the cashier is asking me because of the background noise (TVs & fun being had in the back), it wears thin. Several times they've messed up my order, but that's what I'd expect at a place being run by high school kids more worried about what the others are doing in the food prep area. Food is okay, when it's right. Pizza is pretty hard to mess up unless you get something totally different that what you requested. The Steak/Cheese sub is nothing to write home about.
