But Mr. Wok in Madisonville gets the very highest of marks compared to any restaurant we've ever experienced for the quality of their packaging to their most careful packing of the order. Doesn't look like much when you drive up but man is the food good. Called in an order and picked up within 15 minutes. They do not have the dining room open, but have built a takeaway window for COVID compliant food delivery. I ordered an egg drop soup and a small plate of chicken & vegetable. Simply the best chinese in Madisonville! You will be amazed by their generous portions. You will be astonished by their fast and friendly service. You will be impressed by their commitment to serving up some of the freshest and most delicious chinese cuisine I have ever had. Crowds usually hit this place hard for lunch and weekend nights. Family friendly but rather small. Not a good choice for large groups. No free refills on soda has to be one and only gripe. Seriously folks I could eat here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We just moved here from the Los Angeles CA area to Madisionville. I have now eaten here twice once take out and once eat in. I had the MooGoo Gia Pan and my wife had the Pork Chow Mein. We got the meal which included the main entree and Fried Rice and an Egg Roll. The service was very good and that can be half the battle when eating out anywhere. The food was brought out promptly and it was Hot off the Wok and I mean hot. I had to wait a few min before I attempted a fork full. Understand MooGoo Gia Pan can be made several ways, their method was a lot like other places I have had it and it was very well done. The pea pods were cooked perfectly as were the other veggies and the chicken and accompanying sauce was very good. The Fried Rice was much different than what I am used to but it was very good, just different. The Egg Roll seemed to be hand made it was big and very tasty. My wife had the Pork Chow Mein the noodles were much larger that what normally get in Los Angeles restaurants but it was very well prepared. I plan to come back for their Egg Foo Young and see how they prepare it. I will also try their Sweet and Sour and Moo Shu Pork. So I will post another review at some point. read more

They are so clean, sanitary and the food is good. I usually get the chicken egg foo young or I also love the chicken with garlic sauce. I get it extra spicy. They are also fast and efficient. On Friday nights there will be a line, so beware. I appreciate that this local place is doing all they can to keep their customers safe. read more

Stopped here for lunch on my way down to Georgia and boy am I glad I did. I ordered the egg drop soup and shrimp lo mein, food prep was fast, simple, no frills. The egg drop soup was awesome, just the right texture and flavor for me. The shrimp lo mein was pretty good, and surprisingly tasted even better next day reheated. Portion sizes were generous, hence I had leftovers. Service was friendly and personable, priced reasonably, and the place was generally clean (including the bathroom). I stopped here for a gas refill & quick lunch and left very satisfied. If I was rating this in NY or Atlanta I would give it a 4/5, but given location and other competition, I'm giving it a 5. If driving through, I would stop here again. read more

This is the absolute best Chinese food you can get in Madisonville. The staff is beyond helpful and friendly. The food is always fresh and hot, plus cooked to order. They always give very generous portions of food also. I have a family of 4 and we can always eat on the food for 2 days, which brings me to my next point, the food is even better reheated, it keeps very well. If you ever travel through Madisonville, Ky and are craving Chinese food come here. They also are located right across from 3 main hotels next to the Kroger's shopping center. I can't say enough good things. It's a small establishment but they make up with large taste!! read more

Pretty average chinese food. It was quick and not over priced. There were people constantly in and out... but I wasn't overly impressed. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't rave about it like a lot of the other reviews. I got the Szechuan chicken combo. The fried rice was a little dry. Portion size was big - my buddy's lo mein was huge. Since the kids grew up and left home, hubby and I happily order a lot of takeout, and our absolutely favorite place to "order out" is Mr. Wok's Chinese Restaurant. When ordering we rotate through our menu favorites, but we always add the fabulous Spring Rolls and/or Egg Rolls with a small cup of sweet and sour sauce for dipping the rolls. Some of our favorites are *General Tso's Chicken; Mongolian Beef; House Special Lo Mein or House special Fried rice; or perhaps Shrimp Egg Foo Young. So far, I have never been disappointed with any of the choices we tried. I have discovered that with any of Mr. Wok's rice dishes you need to lightly spray water over the rice, cover the rice tightly, and steam in your microwave for a minute. Then the rice is soft and the dish is ready to be enjoyed:) Madisonville is lucky to have such a fabulous Chinese Restaurant. read more

Came home to Evansville for Christmas and found myself driving through Madisonville hungry as a hostage! Looked on yelp for a good spot and ended up at Mr. Wok. Have to say the reviews are spot-on! Got the Bourbon, honey and general tsos chicken and egg rolls and fried dumplings. Brought it home to my family and got rave reviews! Even Daddy loved it and he is one tough customer! Portions are good and price points were what you'd expect. The wait was a tad long, but they were extremely busy so I won't nitpick that small caveat. Highly recommended! read more

I am unsure of how this compares to other Chinese food restaurants in Madisonville as this is the 1st one I am trying. I ordered the chicken with garlic sauce and crab rangoon. The garlic sauce also meant to be spicy, was Miley sweet. The crab rangoon order came with 8 small ones. They were not as crispy as i would like but tasted fairly good. This may also be due to the fact that I got a to go although my hotel is super close. The serving sizes are fairly large which is a plus but over all, good but not great. Love their pepper chicken. Service is fast. More of a carry out venture as sitting space small. Do not recommend calling order in as most times there is a heavy accented voice on the line. For a place with no buffet it does amazingly well. You can order in if you like. They have the seating for it. And to go is no problem. They are very quick getting your order out. Longest wait I've had was about 15 minutes and that's with the seats full and 4 other people ahead of me. Portions for the price are decent. read more
