Gen X that like bands such as Bush, Jane's Addiction, and the Foo Fighters, and also like sushi??? It sounds odd, but it all kinda works. Theme menu with apps, sushi and hibachi all based on rock music. It's really clever actually. We sampled a few different rolls, as well as some chicken hibachi. The rolls were quite tasty, albeit in the expensive side. One dish of note was the tuna tartare app. A nice portion of chopped tuna, topped with a couple of sauces, and served with fried wonton chips. I would return just to eat this again!!!! Our server/ service was outstanding!!! It wasn't too busy when we dined, but everything came out quickly. Now..... bad news for the hibachi fans.... I'm sorry to say it just wasn't tasty. The rice and veg were quite bland, and the chicken pieces had lots of gristle, and seemed undercooked. Like I had to spit it out in my napkin. I would like to give the service a 5, but the hibachi gets a 1.

We were quickly greeted and seated. The restaurant was meticulously clean!! The food was cooked fresh and tasted delightful! I started my order with the New York roll, a lightly breaded and deep fried roll and it was amazing! For the entree I opted for the Filet, Chicken, and Shrimp hibachi. Again, the food came out fast, freshly prepared, and tasted amazing! The portions were bigger than average with enough hibachi left over for the following days lunch.

However, their carryout service was really busy with people coming in and out. I ordered the Chicken Hibachi dinner. I wanted to compare it to other restaurants that offer this dish. It's served with a clear soup and green salad, vegetables and fried rice. I didn't like the soup but the salad was very tasty. The serving of chicken and rice was ample. I even took some home which is rare for me. The vegetables were delicious, the fried rice was tasty and the chicken was seasoned well. It was a good dinner, but just not as good as the places I usually get this meal. My husband got the sushi and was disappointed. He found it pretty bland, when it was suppose to be a spicy dish, and didn't like how the fish was cut up. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. The server was attentive. Since it was hard to hear our conversation due to the TV, I asked her to turn it down and she did. That is a pet peeve of mine. Unless you are in a bar, I don't know why TVs need to be in restaurants. It's a good restaurant, but it didn't meet my expectations.

Well heck, I am a healthy man with a strong appetite for delicious food. Why not order both? I can handle it. Out came the Spam Musubi. A block of rice topped with a fried egg (a buck extra... heck yeah) and a slice of fried Spam. All stacked beautifully together like Legos and hugged by a nori blanket. I take my first bite and oh my goose nest!!! The spam is covered in caramelized teriyaki sauce. I've probably eaten these a million times but this was new and pretty special. A small variation of flavor and texture from what I was expecting and it made it more enjoyable. So I killed the musubi and out comes my loco moco. The food covered every bit of real estate on the plate. I was caught off guard and feeling a bit overwhelmed. Surely I could finish my dish. My palms were sweaty. Knees weak, arms were heavy. Can I perform? Screw it. Just grab the fork and start. Cucumber salad. Start on the green stuff. Oh my goose nest! It's good. Cool and sweet. Refreshing. Taste the pasta salad. Yummy as well. Loco Coco time. A bed of rice topped with onions, burger patty, sunny side up eggs, and smothered in brown gravy. Oooooh. I love it. This dish brings back so many memories. Takes me to the Pacific Ocean. I grub down with island vibe music jamming in the background. My server checks in on me and treats me well. And then it happens. I'm super full. I'm only half done with my loco moco. Failure hits me hard. I have to tuck my tail and ask for a take out box and carry it through the restaurant with all the other patrons whispering, pointing, and snickering at my shortcoming. But wait. I'm dining alone and this isn't an eating contest. Well heck. Just like that... I feel great! So what if I couldn't finish my food. It was a massive portion! Try it for yourself if ya be so bold.
