The food is amazing. I recommend the honey chicken baby good and the service incredible I recommend eating hair if you love Chinese food.

First of all let's consider that you are getting a full dinner buffet for $13.61 after all the added costs. $10+ for lunch. I came in an hour before closing so I wasn't expecting very much but it looked extensive for a lower priced buffet so I stayed. I was pleasantly surprised that not only were there the usuals but some items not usually on the menu and a hibachi grille and self serve ice cream. The desserts were many and should please anyone. I have this delivered every time I travel to Madisonville. Everything is always hot fresh and tasty one of the better hot and sour soups that I've had. Cheap eats! Mandarin house has a surprisingly large buffet selection. While the Chinese offerings on the buffet are somewhat mundane,, there are a number of less common Chinese buffet selections, including crawfish, "stuffed crab" (really more of a crabcake on a scallop shell), salmon, mussels (?) on the half shell. Everything sampled was good, especially for a buffet. my vegetarian companion ordered tofu and mixed veggies off of the menu, which was delicious and a huge portion, for $7.50. As another reviewer has said, the prices are more than reasonable. An imported beer was $3.50, for example. Our four star rating is the result of very credible food at an extremely reasonable price. The food is very good for a buffet. Tremendous selection! Great value! Very friendly staff with prompt service. The soups are very good and there are several dessert selections including ice cream. Also a good selection of sushi with wasabi and other toppings. You can also special order from the grill at no extra charge. Ok I am just going to touch on the Restaurant and focus on the Mongolian side of the food. Service is excellent, we all normally just drink water but our waitress came by several times to fill our glasses. Seating is comfortable the food selection is more than enough. Since this was my first time here I sampled a small amount of everything. All the dishes I tasted were good, the Chow Mein noodles were a flat style not bad but I was not a big fan of them. But since I am a big fan of Mongolian style of food I thought I would try theirs out. This is not a Mongolian Restaurant so your not going to get choice of 10 different types of sauces nor the bread nor a wide selection of meats and mass quantities of vegetable choices. However their meat is fresh not the thin flash frozen type you would normally get, there was chicken,beef,what looked like steak there might have been one more item but I just took the beef. There are just flat dishes (plates) not bowls to put your food on so spillage may be a problem. Get 2 plates if you like a lot of meat and put your veggies on another dish. The vegetable selection is not enormous but there is enough. They did have eggs and rice which I have never seen, but you can make a great fried rice or try to make an killer Egg Fo Young if your the daring type. But you might want to tell the chef what your trying to accomplish so they can try to achieve your goal and not look at you like your nuts. They offer just 3 sauces which was good enough, spicy, not so spicy and mild, I choose the middle ground and it was just fine, in fact I tend to go a bit overboard on the sauces so this kept my insanity at bay and not go nuts and ruin a meal. They apply the sauce so I did not see how it was applied as I was walking around a bit looking at the desert dishes that were nearby. They cook on a flat top and the chef sort of moved the food around teppan style if you know what I mean. He did a good job cooking the food nothing was over cooked or soggy the veggies were as they should be cooked and the meat was surprisingly tender and cooked perfectly. I like rice with my dish and there was a rice cooker nearby with white rice so I just got a plate of rice and added as needed to my meal. I will go back again and just do the Mongolian side the next time as I enjoyed it more. I think the lunch was $7.99 I was there for dinner which was a few bucks more. But if you time it right you can have a late lunch and be so full you won't want dinner, and this is much more low cal than a burger fries and a coke and healthier for that matter for about the same cost. I am sure if more people start to go this route when they walk in they may increase the veggie selection. Since this is not a full blown Mongolian grill and there are other food choices so I think your safe bringing the kids they will just have the noodles and rice anyway. You guys need to use Yelp more often the last review here was 2016. Hopes this helps. Oh and always put a buck in the tip jar just good practice. And dam I did not see the ice cream until I walked to the counter to pay the bill. If you like ice cream do not make the same mistake I did. read more

One of best Chinese restaurants I have been. Clean, I have been there three times. Crab legs at extra cost. Where good, but garlic or cajun flavored would be nice. On the buffet, everything I had was good tasting. I especially liked the steamed oysters and the crawfish. Great sweet bar. My wife loved the frog legs. I would say this is ok for what it is. Most things on the buffet were fairly subpar in my opinion. The Mongolian grill part makes it worth the trouble to visit and their prices for dinner are fairly reasonable. Your kids are free under 4 so that's a bonus as well. Their wait staff is undeniably not pleasant. The restaurant is clean enough, bathrooms are clean and their layout is spacious so it's good for families or groups. We will probably not be back often. If they were less rude and the quality was better I would consider wasting my money there more frequently. read more

Very friendly and fresh food on the buffet. Their ice cream is self dip and the restaurant is clean and bright.

The food wasn't bad. But it seemed a little dirty and took forever to get refills the servers were rude and didn't communicate with us. They mixed up our cups my friend had Pepsi and I had Mountain Dew and they filled them with the wrong drinks. I would avoid this place especially after the bad health ratings I don't think this place is going to last long. read more
