I've been a longtime Mr. Wash unlimited wash subscriber and of their 11 locations throughout Maryland, Virginia and Delaware, this location is the closest Mr. Wash to my home. I visit almost every day and I think the value of paying for an unlimited subscription is worth it because the cost of a single wash is only slightly less than a monthly subscription that now allows you to get your car washed twice a day at any of their locations. (FYI..It used to be only once a day so neither are truly unlimited.) They also have a solid number of locations to utilize versus other car washes that may only have a few. This location does not have vacuums and the next closest location that does have vacuums is located in Kensington. This is the only reason for my 4 star rating instead of 5 for this location. Everything is pretty much automated so I haven't interacted with staff much unless there was an issue with my account. When I have, everyone has been professional and helpful. Don't be discouraged if you pull up to long lines. Even at their busiest, the lines still move in an efficient way getting you in and out fast. read more

Pickup trucks suffer the most here and are not entirely clean, SUVs leave the wash partly clean with bird poop still intact. What they say the car wash can do is untrue. So sad that management does not seem to care. A few miles away is Mr. Wash in Kensington Maryland, DuPont ave. Makes silver spring look sick. Silver spring Tag readers inability to read all tags, causes entry delays and back ups, requiring a person to enter tag info manually. So much for new equipment. For a price of $16.99/month, you can come here for an unlimited, unrestricted amount of car washes per month....as many times as you want. * Note: This for an exterior (outside) brushless-machine operated wash only. No interior cleaning. This is great for those on a rush and/or may just be in the need of a quick cleaning. This is not your place for getting a detailed car wash job. Often times, the wheels are not cleaned well from the wash and sometimes there can be spots missed (not cleaned) on your car. This has been my experience on several occasions. Also, for the price, there is no interior cleaning or vacuuming service provided. You would have to vacuum and/or towel dry yourself. There are a couple of pay stations onsite for this if you chose to do so. The line goes pretty fast mostly because the wash is short. The drive-thru wash gets mostly everything on your car; even the pollen that seem to dust your car completely green this time of year. For the price, it's not bad. If you chose the monthly wash for $16.99/month, then I would say it is worth it. Very angry! DO NOT VISIT THIS CAR WASH! I just came from this car wash, the front and left side of my car have deep dents in the paint. Also, the machine only washed the left side of my car and almost took off my rear windshield wiper and left mirror. What a terrible place. They load the cars too close together!! The front and back of my car is always partially washed because of this-- they have our cars flow through bumper to bumper--- I am going to cancel my subscription because of this. Avoid this bad value! The Silver Spring location no longer offers interior cleaning at ANY price without a recurring monthly bill... Subscription? Nah nah, honey I'm good. And the $25 wash is like what gas stations offer for a fraction of the price: outside only, no hand drying. Tip: there's not even any customer-operable vacuum here -- they took away the hose! So you're forced to take your business elsewhere, or try a Dustbuster or shopvac at home. Two stars because their interior cleaning used to involve dirty rags that streaked cars' interior glass anyway. So maybe parting ways is a good thing. (Like someone who shows their true colors before you were about to ask 'em to prom.) After a decade as a customer, I'm not going back. I went two days ago just to get the exterior washed to discover that they are charging $25 just to wash the outside....ummmm, no thank you! The attendant opened the gate to allow me to exit and said "you haven't been here for a while." I said "that's right, and I will never be coming back." I have been a customer here about 5 or more years I used their different services in those years which they use it to rip off a customers but today this isn't my issue I recently bought a new car which is $60k+ wanted to use this car wash I have started using about 10 to 20 days and then I have noticed that scratches all over the car I immediately stop using it and tried to contact the supervisor he took all the scratched areas and told me to wait 3-5 business days to get an answer then never got an answer I tried to contacted them many time after 3 weeks or so customer service sent an email saying that they are not responsible for the damage because I may have those scratches from other place and they were sure their machine is latest and no body complained before with this kind of issues! This car wash is terrible. I paid $25 for the lava wax (which includes a regular wash + special wax). I have a few issues with this: 1. There's no way of knowing I actually got the special wax. Each car goes in & out in a line, and the whole wash is about 1 MINUTE LONG. 2. There is still visible bird poop and dirt on the back of my car. So glad I didn't sign up for the monthly membership they were pushing because my car is STILL VISIBLY DIRTY. I wish I could get my money back because my car is not clean. read more

I generally like going here but the monthly plan is strange. Sometimes it is one price and then it goes up without explanation and other times it stays the same. Sometimes when you cancel they offer you a lower monthly prices and other times they say you have cancelled but bill you anyway. Sometimes they cancel you a day early. It's hard to figure out if they are on a 30 day billing cycle or start at the beginning of the month. They never answer any of their many phone numbers. It might be better to just have a package where you get ten washes for a particular price. From a quick glance at the internet it seems they have a huge number of similar complaints. Also they have an odd practice of often not having a second employee to pre treat the passenger side of the car. Note: Most of the employees are very nice and friendly. There is one bossy one though who gets frustrated when you don't pull up to the gate just right. So recently they kept missing the bird poop on the passenger side. If I could give them no stars, I absolutely would. I've been struggling to find a proper car-wash in the Downtown Silver Spring area. I love the location as it's on my way to work, but the overall service is completely flawed. First, a full car wash is close to $30, but you don't get your interior cleaned, or your exterior hand dried. So, you come to get your car washed, but you leave with your car wet, and will eventually get sun spots. No this wouldn't be an issue, however no one can explain this to you before you pull in. The signage is misleading also. So, I tried unlimited. I like to get my car washed at least every other week, once a week if my schedule permits. They clean your interior, dry the exterior. BUT THEN YOU HAVE TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL FEE FOR THEM YOU CLEAN YOUR WHEELS! And they don't even do that correctly. Unlimited is 59.99, by the way. Decent wash for the price... I have the monthly unlimited wash acct which is good for the price but the back of the car is never really clean. Of course all of the action and Cleaning jets focus on the car as you are coming through the wash but nothing to focus on the rear. The guys that spray the car as you are approaching don't spray the back which would be a huge help in making sure it's clean. Just a suggestion, don't forget about the rear of the car. We had to ask them to stop the wash and went back in ourselves to retrieve the part. They took no responsibility determining after their own "investigation" the car had damage when it was brought in (it did not, we just purchased it and have the delivery inspection records to contradict their "investigation"). read more

I am now an SUV owner and this was my first time taking it through a car wash. My vehicle wasn't too dirty; just had some dried on dirt on the bottom and undercarriage. The Ultimate Outside did it for me. Clean as a whistle. No scratches. No up sell (I believe this location is now a full service car wash as opposed to an express despite the marquee). With every wash you get a coupon on your ticket for a future Ultimate Outside wash for just $7.50. It has been awhile since the last time I went to a Mr. Carwash. As I recalled, their monthly membership was a new program that offers unlimited outside washes. Today, I had to get the interior cleaned but I was pressed for time. Came here to get the Lava wax $22 then pulled up to the lane for interior cleaning. To my surprised, I found out the interior cleaning is ONLY available for members only and there is no option for non-members to purchase it as an add-on. I was literally in and out in about 5 minutes, which is a good thing. Mr. Wash is a no-frills type of carwash, just a notch above the drive thru carwashes you'll find connected to a gas station. I give them a 3/3.5. Mr. Wash is not quite a 4. Here's why... PROS: -They actually have a variety of wash options and offer full-service interior/exterior cleaning, starting as low as $7 -Tire dressing won't set you back too much ($3) and it stays on for a week or so. I love that "just washed" look. -Whatever they're using for carwash solution is pretty decent. My paint doesn't seem splotchy or faded afterward. It actually shiny and the super powerful dryer at the end actually leaves it dry and streak-free! No more getting out the car to finish drying windows, etc. CONS: - Their service kinda sucks. You might catch wind of their anxiety/annoyance with you if you start asking questions or pointing things out. Try to disregard that. Although Mr. Wash could use some work in the customer service dept, I'll be back for more: They're fast, my car is sparking, and the price is just right. read more

Also, depending on the location, the quality of the wash can either be underwhelming or okay. I've been a monthly user for about 6 months and as I was waiting for the screen to read my tag, I see a message saying that my fee was doubling next month. Wow...DOUBLING!
