Another 1 star rating for Mr Trashman. I am on an every other week schedule. Last week the trash bin did not get fully emptied. I just called to see if they can empty the bin this week since they will be driving by my house tomorrow. I was told that they would not empty the bin tomorrow because I did not call soon enough! No explanation was given on why the timing of my call effects their level of service. The BIGGEST surprise was how little Mr Trashman cared about me, the problem or my business with them. It may be time to look for a new trash pick up service which is unfortunate and totally avoidable. read more

We have been using this service in Berlin, MA for a year. I really couldn't ask for anything more. On-time pickup, easy customer service where there is only one quick step before you're able to speak to someone, making accommodations for extra trash is simple, pickup in rough weather, etc. I don't have perspective on other services in the area but Mr. Trashman has been great. This is the worst trash company we've dealt with- we've had three. Aside from being EXTREMELY rude, they are inconsistent on their pick up times and give short notice (such as an email at 4pm the day before- I'm a nurse and I got this email when scheduled for a night shift and was already on my way to work and I was stuck with my trash for an additional week) via email on any changes in schedule that they make. When I called to complain, he was rude snd short, causing me to cancel on the spot. Worst company ever. read more

The owner of the company is hands down one of the best. He was literally at the driveway minutes before a snow storm grabbing garbage to ensure regular pickup. Snow was coming down, and he was hustling to get things done. This company, hands down, cares about its customers. Something none of the other waste management companies really do in the area. Others are a total waste of time. You have a problem with service, they answer immediately and solve it without much of a fuss. They crush it on customer service. Worth every penny hiring these guys. Nightmare. Terrible service, unreliable, and zero customer service. After struggling through terrible service I finally decided to call around and find a different company. I notified Mr. Trashman that I was discontinuing service and I received no response which is typical of their horrific service. Weeks later I received a voicemail to make my trash bins accessible for pick up. I put them at the curb for my last PAID FOR pick up day. When I arrived home, my trash was thrown all over my lawn and the bins were gone. Not surprisingly, he did collect the recyclables which just shows how low brow the company really is. I called back the number and Patrick tried to say that the bins had to be empty and he "placed" the contents on my lawn. Not true. Needless to say, he is in the appropriate profession. read more

MR TRASHMAN is great for one simple and very important reason: they pick up trash when they say they will. We've been using them for about 3 months, so we will come back and update our review after a year and see if they're still excellent. Long story short: they were very responsive; I e-mailed him to start service and got a quick e-mail back with service information and a phone number. I called them the next day to start service and to schedule a bulk trash item pick-up (old mattress boxspring). He stopped by that weekend to drop off bins and introduce himself to me and my wife and we chatted for a bit (turns out he's originally from the same town my wife grew up in). Bulk item was picked up the next day as promised. They've come every week without any issue, even when my trash is packed to critical mass. If you're in Acton there is really no good alternative. We first hired Waste Management after moving to Acton and it was a colossal headache: bins never delivered, bulk items never picked up, then bins delivered *after* service was canceled, never picked up unwanted bins, billed me, and not once did they pick up the trash. When they started out and were small they were great. Over the last couple years as they grew things have not been as good. Lately some items were left behind but we stuck with them for the convenience of the service. This week we were given a one day notice via email (that went to our spam folder) that the pickup time had changed. This an account that we do not check daily. If they are going to make a major change like that give us some notice. One email one day prior is not sufficient. We had our trash out at the normal time and there was no pickup. When I called the individual on the phone was barley understandable. He rudely said I needed to check my email. Now I am stuck with two full barrels of trash in the middle of summer. I think success has gone to their head and have forgotten what customer service is. We will be looking at other options. read more

Rude customer service. Mr.Trashman is always difficult to deal due to absence of customer service, owners who do some customer service are very irritated to deal with customers - they bigoted and arrogant. Was a customer for couple years - from time to time Mr.Trashaman found a reason not to pick trash. They charged my account 10 days after cancelling the account. TERRIBLE customer service. Man who answered phone mumbled when he picked up. I wasn't sure if I was calling a business or some random guy's cellphone. He had ZERO customer service skills. He didn't allow me (the customer) to speak and explain my issue first, he just jumped down my throat, spoke over me and he raised his voice at me several times. This is our new trash service after moving away from Republic and it has been a world of difference. Great communication, the owner is the one who often answers the phone and responds to calls and overall the service has been very accommodating. I hope anyone in Southborough having issues with Republic will give Mr. Trashman a call. read more

Not recommended. Was a customer of them for few months. They are super unorganized, occasionally "forgetting" to pickup the trash. Every time they had different excuses and never even had the courtesy of apologizing for delays or trying to make up for it. Terrible demeanor of the phone rep (sounds like a "company" of 2 people) and unreliable amateur service (if you can call it "service"). Not worth the money. I've been using these guys for years now. Good service, good prices! They communicate schedule changes through e-mail, and are accessible by phone. Their website could be better, and it would be helpful if it had a calendar, but I'm generally very pleased. Keep on truckin', Mr. Trashman! read more

I have been a customer for over a year and a half and have been very satisfied with the service. The containers are large enough to handle all the trash we generate, and the single-stream recycling is great. We get an email every time a holiday alters the collection schedule, or if there are issues related to a storm. I don't know if I could ask for much more. read more

While their actual trash removal services are good, their customer service representative is absolutely not. She behaves as if you are inconveniencing her for anything. There are so many other options for this service; it is unfortunate that their customer service representative is not more friendly and tolerant of human beings. I have used Mr, Trashman for about four years now. They have been great, never really a problem of any kind. Yes, they are small-time and I would much rather give them my business than some huge corporation like WM. Almost everyone in my neighborhood uses them and no one is unhappy to my knowledge. read more
