Starting off at my "usual shop" on Rte 206 to address slow leaks in front tires, learned that dry rot was the cause. When that shop faltered in service (overwhelmingly busy), I called Mr Tire. They were accommodating, reasonable and happy to take care of my car. They treated me exactly as I treated them: with respect and friendly professionalism. They gave me a fair price, worked with my schedule, and provided excellent service. They pointed out a couple observations for matters to be aware of. NO HARD UPSELLING (like the competitor down the road). They seem like decent, hard working, competent folks. I like that and will be happy to bring them my business going forward. read more

An oil change was "done" and within three weeks an engine light told us that we had no engine oil and should seek immediate repair. We called Mr. Tire from the road and were told to seek a repair and that they would cover the cost of the service. The repair bill says that the housing had no "O Ring" and that the plug was poorly secured leading to a leakage of all our oil. We submitted the repair bill and have now waited close to five weeks----with no word and no refund. We keep getting told by the store manager that he submitted the complaint to his 'boss". When we called corporate offices-----they told us that they have no record at all of a desired refund. All this after almost 15 years as loyal customers. It's one thing to do a faulty repair----which sucks----it's quite another to be lied to and treated this way. read more

Honestly I don't doubt the other reviews, but I will say I had a very good experience here. I bought tires off TireAgent.com and I guess they're subcontracting to Mr. Tire since they were basically the only option you could choose to have tires installed. So whatever, fine, I choose this location but then there was no like backend notice to them so they didn't even know what was happening? Luckily I called in to make an appointment and to tell them I have tires being shipped there. The guy told me to get there by 9am and I say okay. The tires arrive, I get there on my appointment day at 9:05am and the manager (a woman) says ah well, it'll probably be ready late afternoon since we told you to get here at 9am and now there's a bunch of people ahead of you. Okay I didn't know 5 minutes would make that much of a difference but whatever. I Lyft home and wait. I get a call around 2:30pm saying they were starting and needed my wheel locks. I had forgotten about this otherwise I would've taken them out myself (my trunk is busted) but the guy who called was friendly and was totally down to root around in my trunk to get it for me, so I appreciated that and he didn't give me any guff about it but he did say that means they might have to keep it over night. Hm. Not great but I also didn't have anywhere to be the next day so it was fine. I get a call 30 mins before they close and he said okay well we got it done already, you can come get it. I said I can't come now so I'll get it tomorrow. They did kinda "upsell" me on an alignment, which wasn't great? I totally thought that would be basically a basic task that was included in a tire installation but I guess not. But I saved a lot buying from TireAgent so I was like eh why the hell not I guess. Anyway, the car has been running fine for the past few days, which is nice. (I had a terrible rotor installation experience from another shop, apparently the bolts had actually fallen off so my car was making very scary screeching sounds, so I'm kind of on high alert). Will update if anything falls apart, but as of now, I'd recommend this place for tire installation. read more

I dropped my car off for an alignment. First, I was told they didn't know if they could do it that day after I made an apt. I appreciated them being transparent about how long it could take. I drop it off and they tell me it went from being an alignment to I need two new tires. Fine. I had to leave it overnight. They said they would have it done first thing in the morning. I had work Friday and Saturday. Friday I had to call out. Now it's Saturday, noon. Not a word. I call and miraculously the tires * just came in * I got there to get the car. Paid $700 for what should have been a $120 job. Take it, drive to the grocery store on my way home. I come out, turn it on and my coolant lights are blaring. My car was perfectly fine on coolant when I dropped it off. I pop my hood and my coolant is EMPTY. Not a drop. Weird. I fill it, go on to my next stop before going to work. 10 minutes I come out turn on my car and the coolant is DRAINED. Again. There was NOTHING wrong with this aspect of my car. I have a trusted mechanic who works on it all the time. Of course I call and they give me " oh we didn't touch that part of your car" Okay, well I saw the car with the hood up... and it was perfectly fine before I brought it there. Coolant is POURING out as I put it in. She tells me I can bring it back.... Monday. As if I would trust these people to touch my car again. Now I'm out 3 days of work. $700 - two new tires. Came here for a leaky tire and made the appt. online but then got a call that that day wasn't available so we rescheduled. We brought the car in and were told they almost cancelled our appt because we weren't there by a certain time. We were never told about that. Staff was either overwhelmed or cannot multi task because I stopped in to see if it was finished, I was in the area, and was told I had to wait 10 minutes before she could tell me if it was finished. When I picked up the car staff had no idea what had been wrong with the tire. I don't think I'll go back. read more

I made an appointment to have tires installed. I told the person that I would wait with the car. He told me to drop it off before 9 am. I got there around 8. The manager told me they would probably not get to me until later in the afternoon . I initially said that I would wait. After a while I asked him about the wait. He said that they service all of the customers having other work done before they get to the ones having tires installed. I told him that that should have been stated on the phone. He said that is why he said to drop it off. I then took my tires and had them installed elsewhere. The manager was somewhat rude. They should not be a recommended installer. read more

Car was stalling occasionally and check engine light finally came on and scan showed 3 codes. Called Mr tire immediately and they said bring it in around noon. Turns out a bad engine solenoid was the culprit causing the engine to misfire. They replaced it and this cleared the codes and resolved stalling. The whole process took 24 hours and best part they handled the SilverRock claim. Very impressed with their professionalism and legit mechanics. Best shop in the area. read more

The staff are always friendly and nice and a couple of them have worked there since I started taking my cars here over a decade ago. I've never had any issues. Hate to complain because they have been nice, but I had to bring my car in to check the air-conditioning and not happy. The ac blows about ten minutes before you need to shut it off because it blows warm. I had to shut it off and in a minute it would work fine, for ten more minutes. I explained the problem and was called the next day to tell me it needed a coolant recharge, even thought it was blowing cold off and on. When I got the car, it started the same thing. When I called back to say the ac was still not working, I was told there must be a leak in it. Well, why wasn't that checked before I got the car? Did anyone test the ac after it was charged? I didn't like the fact that I might have wasted cash on something not needed and I still don't have a working ac. I'm supposed to bring it back, but don't have much confidence in their ability to fix this issue. read more

Please do NOT ever go to Mr. Tire of PRINCETON! I took my car to get an oil change and told them that my engine sounded weird. "No problem," he said. "We will take a look and make sure it's okay." Great! Once the oil was changed, I drove it 7 miles and my engine froze up. I mean the car broke down on the highway! So I called Mr. Tire of PRINCETON. Really pleased with my experience today at Mr. Tire. I have had bad experiences with chain tire/auto stores in the past, but Mr Tire came through for me. I had a flat tire yesterday morning, and between my tire model being discontinued and tire wear, I needed a new set of 4 tires. Since I have 19" wheels with low profile (35 series) tires, I knew I wasn't going to have much luck getting the new tires quickly. Even Tire Rack would take 2 days to get tires to me. I figured I would give Mr Tire a shot, and they were able to get a set of 4 tires for me within 24 hours and squeeze me in as soon as the tires came off the delivery truck. And when I came in for the service, they were very professional and didn't try to upsell me with any unneeded services. In fact, they steered me away from an extra service I mentioned as they said it would be unnecessary. Great experience and highly recommended. read more

I started coming to Mr. Tire after buying tires here about 18 months ago. I will say this: they have good prices on tires. Since then, however, I have become increasingly concerned and frustrated with my experiences. At one point, I brought the car in for a rear brake job. When I picked it up, and after resetting the computer, the brake light remained on. This suggested that a sensor had never been replaced. Eric told me in no uncertain terms that no sensor was needed and that he was the expert, not me. Ultimately, I was right, and it took three trips instead of one. More recently, I was driving to Virginia and I discovered that one of my lug bolts had fallen out. A little research points the finger at overtightening or undertightening, which would have happened at Mr. Tire. I had to buy a replacement at a rural auto parts store, and it made me late for my conference. The last straw was Eric's ad hominem attack as I attempted to negotiate a time slot after bringing my car in late. "You can't do that to me," he said, when I asked if it might be ready at a certain time. Mr. Tire has routinely overshot estimates, sometimes by hours, so his rage seemed particularly misplaced. I had a terrifying experience here and I'm certainly never going back. I got two tires changed and two days later somebody stopped me on the highway telling me that I have a flat tyre, it was extremely dangerous for me to keep on driving. So I went back to the store to ask them about it, and I received no apology and no gesture of sincerity, i was left with "we'll look at it". When I went to pick up the car, they told me there was no problem with it and gave me no explanation, and they rejected my request for a new tire in extremely harsh manner. I cried that night because my English is not good and their attitude was so unkind. Another two days later, my car showed a warning about the tire and so I inquired them again. Once again I was met with impertinent attitude and impatience and the issue was not resolved. I felt very uneasy about it so I went to the brand dealer instead and was noticed that the tires are damaged and cannot be used no longer. I got no refund and no apology. I genuinely advice everyone not to come here, they are very irresponsible in my experience. read more

I used to love this place, especially when it was Vespia and have bought MANY sets of tires here over the years. However, in recent times their service has gone way downhill. Yesterday (Monday) when I arrived with a damaged tire I was told that they were so busy that if I left my minivan they could probably get to it by Saturday. When I replied that I couldn't leave my minivan for days, they gave me a walk-in appointment for 7:30 today. Except when I arrived this morning they were expecting me to leave my van for days. When I said no, the appointment was for me to wait for the tire to be fixed, I was given a sob story about how busy they were, how they still hadn't gotten to the Saturday drop offs, how one guy wasn't coming in, etc. and how they only had 4 guys even scheduled to work there so didn't think they could do it today (FYI, they have 6 bays.) And they suggested I rent a car or call Uber for the next few days. (!!!) SMH that anyone thinks this is acceptable customer service. SMH that they haven't hired enough mechanics to properly staff their business. I left and called my Toyota dealer. I have an 8:15 appointment tomorrow morning. They'll have me out by 9:30. It sucks that I'll have to pay for the fix, since I've already bought the tire protection plan from Mr. Tire, but it's the safest option. read more

While driving realized there was a noise from the hood. They purposefully left the battery unscrewed. It could have been fatal. Despite the filthy 1980's-vintage customer waiting area, I've gotten all of my family's tires here and have generally had a good experience. As a matter of fact, they went out of their way to satisfy me by replacing a set of Michelin's on my car when I complained about the noise level. However, my wife called them today when her tire pressure light came on, hoping to get the tire checked within two hours before leaving for Myrtle Beach with my youngest daughter and mother-in-law in tow. She called at 10 AM and the response was something along the lines of "You're calling at the last minute. We're backed up and need four hours. Can you delay your trip?" Plus, they told her not to worry, if it is a slow leak she could just put some air in it and maybe find a place in Myrtle Beach. Really?!!! Driving on the highway for 10 hours with daughter and her mother in the car and they think it is okay to drive that far? My wife is super competent, but she couldn't believe what she was hearing. So, I called Quality Auto Truck and Tire up the road in Hillsborough. They said, "Absolutely, bring it right in and we can take care of it. They plugged the tire and I was out of there in 20 minutes. Fast, friendly service and a beautiful facility. Even if I have to pay more, I won't be shopping at Mr. Tire any more. read more

I went in last week to get my rear brakes replaced. I was certain this needed to be done, given the recommendation from another repair shop a few months back. I told them to just go ahead and replace them and I was fine with the cost. (This was before they even looked at my car.) I received a call a bit later informing me that my car was fine and I didn't need any maintenance. I truly appreciate their honesty and will certainly take my car here again. I went to Mr Tire to verify that since everything seems working just fine. Finally get only one old tire replaced with a free tire rotation. I'm confused by the positive feedback, After purchasing 4 tires and not getting them due to delivery issues I left with no weights at all on the car, ( not how I drove in ! ) I returned on a Monday after canceling travel to have the tires mounted and balanced but after 1 hour of the steering wheel shaking I stopped my trip to have them re balanced at another " cleaner" shop. I found - No savings in price - tired service - and equipment that was obviously in need of calibration. Any other shop would most likely do better. read more

I went to this place for a simple tire rotation. I was told there was a "special" to rotate all four. Well I got the special alright. Not long after I drove off the car seemed off so I took it to my normal place near where I live in Morris County. Within minutes, I was called to the car and shown that all my tires were rotating in the wrong direction. A place called "Mr Tire" cross rotated directional tires so that each now is rotating the wrong way. This is a basic detail that should never be overlooked. So it is clear that the people working there are not professionals. For the honor of going there for the "special", I now have permanent tire noise on tires not half way worn. My car was due for a scheduled service and I called the dealership and vespias to get a quote. Vespia came in cheaper but also asked if I wanted to add additional services which I declined and made an appointment. My wife took the car in for the scheduled service and they asked her again if she wanted the additional service. I called directly to make sure and the Vespia service manager asked again if I wanted the additional service, very insistent. I declined saying I only wanted what was required for the scheduled service and then the service manager demanded that I list out the services I wanted. I was taken aback and again said I only wanted the scheduled service and then he had the gall to state that he was too busy to look up the the services and that I should state what services I wanted. This is the first time I've ever had any garage demand that the customer list out scheduled service! I won't be going back there again. read more
