I got a road hazard warranty with my tires from Mr. Tire in Dundalk. A little over a year later, I had a nail in the tire and expected a free replacement but only got a small discount. Staff were great but the warranty didn't feel worth it. I likely won't get it again. read more

My daughter had a tire blow out about .5 miles from here. She needed a tire a.s.a.p. and hated to get a tow truck as well. The woman at the front said she'd find out if they could help us out and about an hour later, which was completely acceptable, they met us out at her car and put on a new tire. Nicest Crooks and Racist you would ever meet!! After store 760 robbed me by charging me over $8k to replace a bad catalytic converter which they completely botched. I went to store #756 to have them replace the catalytic converter store 760 botched. The store manager said he would have to charge me $9k plus I would need to place a $2k deposit. This was after I had already paid $8k to another Mr. Tire store for the same job that was done incorrectly. At this point I had already explained to John the store manager what happened at a different Mr. Tire location. When I finally got my car back he told me I needed to complete a tune-up which would cost me $1,500. At this point I took my car to a completely different mechanic and was advised John and his mechanics had changed my engine coils without telling me. They are changing things in your car with the hopes you would come back. Plus they use cheap parts. I'm still waiting on my refund. Shady! Shady! Shady! Shady! Shady!!!!!! It took way too long for what I needed done. I needed two new tires, that is all. Took almost three hours. Some things happened along the way, but really. Three hours? I should have just came in without an appointment, as it seemed others had bigger problems and were in and out with ease. I gave them my tire-key. One of the guys came back and told me that it was a bit warn down, and he wanted to let me know before he did anything. He told me he'd try to get it off by hand. I told him I just used it yesterday (to put on my spare) so it should be okay. 30 minutes later a different guy comes back saying it doesn't work; we walked back and saw the drill he was using it with. I was a bit frustrated they said one thing, but did another. This of course caused an extra charge to remove the lug-nuts with the key on them. When my car was ready, finally, he gave me my key and said have a good day. I headed out and realized my car wasn't where I left it, so I had to go back and ask where my car was. I don't think I would have ever found it had I not asked. I was missing a valve stem cap when I got to my car. It's not a big deal, and when I went in they gave one to me, no problem. But it's little things like this that show how careless this place can be. Not the worst experience ever, but I'll be going somewhere else to see if I can find better in the area. There's a Meinke right around the corner. Definitely not going back to this place. read more

Pretty much the only reason why i go to Mr.Tire are well the tires. To be honest they do have a good selection of tires, and the pricing for the tires and the installation is hard to beat. They will also match or beat any of their competitors. On top of it the road hazard warranty that is an extra purchase, is well worth it, i've had to use it a number of times. Otherwise, customer service is sort of meh. I've had better and i have worse. The cost of services for other maintenance items, alignment and oil changes, is pretty much in line with everyone else. They do offer a number of coupons, see them frequently in the paper as well as via email. The other problem i have is with the Road Hazard. Originally i bought my tires at another location. I would have thought they would have had their computer system centralized enough to know that you purchased tires at another location so you can get the road hazard service at the location that you're at. Well at the time (i don't know if this has changed) they didn't. And it was sort of jumping though hoops to get it done (required me to go home and find the receipt). Honestly nowadays, this isn't something i should be having to do. read more

I have to give it to the manager (who's name escapes me at the moment) he really took care of me my last visit. I had a horrible sound coming from under my Charger when in reverse, I feared the worst. Long story short my splash shield was dragging the ground ( a quick look under the car may have found this out..duh) And what I thought was a costly transmission problem ended up setting me back 14 bucks to button up. Today I had another mechanic look at my car and guess what? It needed refrigerant. He also said that they didn't even bother trying to figure out if something was wrong with it because the cap was still dirty, indicating that no one has opened it to check the levels before today. While I was there last time, they indicated that I need a new serpentine belt which is hilarious because as it turns out, my car doesn't have one. It also needed an air filter, which is why the air wasn't blowing as strongly as before. So thanks for nothing, sexist dudes at Mr.Tire. I would ask for my $35 back that you took for literally doing nothing to help me, but it's looking like you'll need it if you're running around trying to replace non existent serpentine belts. read more

Mr. Tire may do fine work on tires, but think twice before you go to them to for brake repair (and likely any other non-tire repair). When they call you to give you your estimate, they may tell you that it's too late to change your mind because they already started the work on a $700 brake repair that would cost you closer to $200 if you bought the parts yourself. Next time, just buy the parts yourself and take them an auto shop and they'll just charge you for labor. The Dundalk location inflates the prices of their parts by an incredibly high margin, stating "they're high quality parts." Save yourself from feeling ripped off and ask your friends to recommend a good mechanic; stay clear of the Mr. Tire in Dundalk. read more

I chose this place for a wheel alignment because it was right by where I work. I made an appointment online and came a bit early. They didn't have me scheduled but they said they could still see me. I assumed the same time. They took my keys (fyi, call ahead of time to verify the price because they quoted me a different one in person vs over the phone). After 1 hour of waiting in a super noisy waiting room, I checked and no one has even touched my car. I asked at the desk how much longer, and a minute later someone takes my car. I am told it will be 30 min. An hour later, I can't even find my car. I made a mistake. I wish I never came here. They seemed so friendly on the phone and expressed pride in their work but this was a waste of time. It took over 2 hours and the excuse was they were backed up. My car still didn't drive straight. I went back again to fix it. It took them about an hour the second time but still it pulls a lot. It seems worse than initially. They were friendly otherwise. Just not helpful. read more

Went with a price match on Michelin Defender They switched me to Good Year! Thought they gave me Michelin but no they gave me Good Year Integrity I feel really stupid For falling for that I always no way that would happen to me. John took excellent care of me today... I can not say enough about the amazing service he gave me..... Long story short I was recommended by my mechanic at B & T automotive...to go see John at Mr. Tire after bad work being done at another big label store (merchant's). Alignment done wrong cam bolt stripped. Two bad tires almost crashed in the snow later.... lol... I found him...anybody else would have took advantage of me AT THE HOLIDAYS... he was honest explained everything and I didn't have to take a second mortgage out lol .... PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR ANYWHERE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A MASTER MECHANIC ON SITE AT ALL TIMES... That is how bolts become stripped, work is over looked and it becomes dangerous for US the customer. I wanted to take a star I didn't....I didn't like the front deck dude he was rude.. Told me something like" if. You don't pay we keep the car"...idk where that came from at all....I have been there for about 2 hrs already and my mechanic before that and sat in merchant's the day before... So no I didn't find that funny at all... I had 3 fused caps on my tires that I could not remove (lesson learned: never buy metal ones, only plastic!). I was told by the dealership that it was unlikely they could be removed, and they quoted me nearly $500 for new valve stems, sensors, and programming. I decided to get a quote at Mr. Tire in Dundalk, and was quoted significantly less. I made the appointment for the next day and went in fully expecting that the caps would not be removed and I'd have to pay this unexpected expense that I really could not afford. I decided to wait rather than drop the car off. Before too long, the counter man and tech came back to tell me that they were able to get the fused caps off without damaging anything, and had checked everything and found no issues with the valve someone else had turned trying to get a cap off. They inflated all the tires properly and put on new caps. I expected to pay at least a minimum service fee - but they charged me nothing at all! They had this job in the bag for hundreds of dollars, yet were honest instead. I can't express how grateful I am. I went home that day and ordered lunch to be sent to them by way of thanks. I am due for an oil change and I am going to use Mr. Tire for that, and hopefully for anything else I will be needing in future. Please stay honest, guys! You helped me more than you can imagine, and I would love to be your customer for life. I am recommending this location to everyone I know. read more

Absolute rip off... Was traveling through town and noticed my brakes were squeaking. Other than that my car was running perfect. I stopped in and said I needed new brake pads. They took it upon themselves to replace my calipers and rotors and charge me $800 and keep my car for 3 days. They said there was no way around it. Anyway, I came to pick my car up and was a little annoyed but was happy with the way it came out. On my way out one of the mechanics said it was running funny. I got in my car to drive away and couldn't make it out of the parking lot. I remembered that I told them I lived far away and needed the car to get home. I'm 100% certain they tampered with my car. Anyway I went back in and they said I needed a new fuel pump. $800 and another 3 days. I had no choice because it was literally broken down in there parking lot. Every employee that I have had an encounter with at the Old North Pt road store has been kind, incredibly helpful, and thorough. I feel like they really do care about every customer and their vehicles! They're always busy but it doesn't show badly in the customer service, plus the great service is worth the wait! If you're new in town and you need your car serviced, this is the best place in the area for you. While the front desk was very helpful I was displease with service. Took my car for an oil change and asked that they check a few things so I could get an alignment at a later date. I am not a mechanic however I suggested the ball joint be checked as it has went bad before causing my alignment and vibration issues. They checked and i was told there were issues with the ball joint. Brought the car back to days later to have it corrected. Come to find out it was not the ball joint but a tie rod. They corrected the tie (which was a bit less expensive) but they corrected the wrong side of the car and I am still having vibration issues with the right. When we took it back to tell them they did the wrong side they were very inconsiderate and did not even look at the right side that i had asked for. Nor did they properly test drive to make sure my original concerns were corrected. I have been here many many times for service but this was the last time I will have them service my vehicle. read more

Years ago, when John was the manager and Damien was running the counter, this place was my go-to place for everything auto-related. They took care of me, their prices were fair, their work was top-notch, and I was always in and out in a time that was comparable to the work being performed. Now, I refuse to go here ever again. The last four times I tried to get an oil change there on a fleet vehicle (the same fleet vehicle that I've been taking to them for years, and a guaranteed source of income for them), I made an appointment three or four days ahead of time. The first time, I arrived about ten minutes early and told them I was there for an oil change. They told me they were really busy, and they'd try to get me in soon but it'd probably be about a three hour wait until the truck was brought in. I told them I'd made an appointment, and they said that it didn't matter because they were busy. So I left, cooled off, and tried again a few weeks later. Same results. Third time, same thing. So the fourth time, I made an appointment and vowed if they still didn't understand the concept of an appointment, I was dropping my loyalty to them and taking my fleet account elsewhere. I walked in, told them I was there for an oil change, and they gave me the same "three hour" line. I explained that I'd made an appointment, and this was the fourth time this had happened with them. The guy behind the counter went and got someone else (who I assume was the manager), who told me they were really busy and I'd have to wait. I then told him the same thing (fourth time, appointments, etc.), and he simply shrugged and said "Sorry about that. We're just busy". When I asked him if he knew what an appointment was supposed to be, and that maybe it'd be a good idea to not accept or schedule someone for a transmission overhaul 5 minutes before someone is coming in for an oil change, he shrugged again and walked away. So I thanked the guy behind the counter, told him no hard feelings, and drove down to Merchants on Merritt Blvd. I was in and out in about 40 minutes. Bottom line - The work is probably still decent but, unless you have hours and hours of spare time, don't bother going to this place. I promise, they aren't the only game in town. Merchants is right down the street, and now my fleet account as well as my personal vehicle will be going to them. If I have to pay an extra $50 for tires, so be it. I'd rather pay the extra money and get on the road in a timely manner, than cheap out and sit in a mechanics waiting room for 6 hours. Or, simply walk in at your leisure and tell them what you need, since appointments apparently aren't really understood or honored there. It seems that if you need a new muffler attached, and you come in 30 seconds before someone with an appointment, well appointment-guy is just gonna have to wait. I guess the appointments are for looks only, and it's simply first come, first served at all times. read more

Will never take my car there again. I'm traveling from Baltimore to California in the next couple weeks so I wanted to make sure everything was up to par. I took my car in for an oil change, to check the fluids, and an alignment. They called me to tell me that they couldn't do an alignment because I need new tire rods and that would cost $800. I declined the service because I wanted to get a second opinion. Other than that, they said everything was fine. A couple days after this, my car started to run hot. I decided to take it to a family member who has been a mechanic for 20+ years now and owns his own shop (I would have taken it there in the first place but his shop is a far drive). He tells me I have a gasket that is rotting and Mr Tire should have seen it right away when they did the oil change. He also checked my tire rods and said they are completely fine. Definitely reconsider if you decide to go there for any work. read more

I will never go back again!!! I had my car looked at and was told incorrect information. I sat for over and hour and half and paid for them to inspect my car to tell me what was wrong with it, just for them to tell me that the work I had done on my car months ago was not done...My husband did the work so I know it was done and correctly and not only that you can see the parts were just replaced and like new. I took my car to another shop to have the work looked at and showed them the estimate from Mr. Tire.The work was indeed done. Mr. Tire also told me I needed a tune up, which my husband did not long ago. I feel they were just trying to get over on me because I was a female. And in fact the whole reason I went there was to see what the sound was and they did not even know the correct reason for the sound. I took it to the other shop that looked at the estimate and my car and in fact it was something else that cost $60.00 and the noise was gone. I will never go back to Mr. Tire and will tell everyone I know to never go there because I feel they are not there for the consumer, they are in fact out to make a quick buck. read more
