Love this family owned Thai restaurant! My favorite item is the Pad Thai. We got it medium the first time and it was on the spicer side for me, but when I got the mild I can definitely taste the sweetness on the Pad Thai. If you love sweet pad thai, you will love this! The drunken noodles were really good too! I'm excited to go back and try other dishes! Very friendly staff! Not many tables so there might be a wait when it's busy during dinner time.

Mr. Thai Bistro is an outstanding family-owned restaurant with excellent food and a welcoming atmosphere. It was fairly busy during a weeknight. The order: Pad Thai with chicken Drunken noodles with shrimp Chicken roll The good: The drunken noodles were the highlight--sauced perfectly and packed with flavor. The shrimp in the dish were cooked well, adding to the overall balance. The chicken roll was another strong point, arriving piping hot and perfectly crispy. The bad: The pad Thai was a bit too sweet for my taste, and the white meat chicken was on the dry side, definitely overcooked.

You know the food is good when it takes you back to fond memories... my God!!! The Mr. Thai Fried Rice Supreme took me back to San Francisco 30 years ago when I first had thai food. It was THAT good. We also had Pad See Ew and Coconut Ice Cream with Fried Bananas and again, chef's kiss moment!!! Cozy atmosphere and excellent customer service. I would vote this as #1 Thai food in East Valley -- possibly all of Arizona!!!

Everything here was hit out of the ballpark! We came because our normal place was closed and my goodness what a good decision! The food was immaculate tasting with the perfect amount of spice. We'll definitely be back.

The overall experience this is by far one of the best places to go to. You come in to a family owned restaurant where you are treated like family. The staff is absolutely fantastic and I truly felt like you are part of the Mr Thai family. I would highly recommend you go and enjoy the food. Enjoy the experience of being with such a wonderful family

Was the food great? Yes but honestly the best part was the service. They're very kind, attentive and keep the establishment tidy. I really enjoyed my time here and will definitely be coming back as a regular!

In the area and wanted to try this spot out for dinner. We ordered takeout since it was 830 and they were going to close at 9. The inside is a small dining room with 7 tables and all of them were occupied. We ordered veggie rolls as app and mango sticky rice for dessert. Hubby ordered the crispy basil chicken entree and I got the pad see ew with tofu instead of chicken. The pad see ew was flavorful but the noodles seemed soggy and the texture was weird for my liking, but the tofu and veggies were good. I will have to come back another time to try something else or give it another shot. Just wasn't feeling it this time. The hubby absolutely RAVED about the crispy basil chicken. He loved the flavor (sweet but savory with a hint of spice since he ordered level 1) and the crispness (not overly breaded so you can still taste the chicken), and the glaze and Thai basil was a great compliment to the whole dish. He was very impressed and even said he would get the same dish the next time we go again. The sticky rice was scrumptious and a great way to end the meal! Can't wait to go back and sit down for a meal there.

First time here, willing to try due to great Yelp reviews. Average location in aging strip center. Inside, clean, neat and comfortable. Friendly greeting from what I assume is Mom and Pop. Wanting to try everything possible ordered the app combo. Favorite items, fried wontons. Wife had chicken satay and white rice. Not what I was expecting. Not skewered and grilled chicken strips. Instead, 3 good size pieces, curry flavor, more Indian style. I had Mango fish, and it was delicious. Large filet of a mild white fish, light crunchy coating and fried to perfection. The accompanying mango salad was vinegary and spicy, fresh and Herby. Served with a side of white rice. Plentiful portions, presented by very nice people. All the food had a great home made taste. This is a good, solid place to which we will return.

Food was delicious, portions are a bit smaller compared to other Thai locations. Lady at register was really kind. Inside was really clean and neat. I definitely will come again when in the area.

Item M14 -Gang Kiew Waan Roti from the photos says it's served w/ roti. But we were charged an additional $3 for roti, which was not mentioned to me when putting in the order. Only after we received our order and saw the receipt did I check Google. Web link on Google works and it appears they changed the name of the item and removed roti from the name. 2. To go portions are small for the price. Chicken larb was enough for like 2 people and had only one piece of lettuce. Papaya salad was also small and 1/2 the container was garnishes (carrots/cabbage). 3. For a noodle soup, any other place would put noodles separate from its broth. My khao soi came all in one container. Forgot to take a photo while it was in the container but there's an old photo of it somewhere on Yelp. 4. Crab fried rice had barely any crab. 5. There was no white rice. Places usually provide some white rice regardless if you order fried rice but I guess that's an extra charge here. 6. We ordered medium spicy for majority of the dishes because one person can't handle spicy but everything came out mild tasting. Even my khao soi, which I ordered hot spicy level, came out mild. 7. Thai tea was missing. After ordering, I asked the person on the phone to read back my order to me. She listed everything I had ordered including the thai tea. But after the order was picked up (not by me), the thai tea was not included in the order. It's a bit out of the way from here to there so no one is going to drive all the way back to get it. I went elsewhere close by for the thai tea. The basil chicken had almost no basil flavor at all. I only found a single basil leaf in the entire dish, which took away from what should be a signature ingredient. The Tom Yum soup was fine, but not memorable, and the spice level across both dishes was surprisingly mild for a Thai restaurant. Based on my experience, the strong reviews here feel a bit overstated. I was hoping for more authentic flavor and seasoning than what was served.

It's a clean, small mom and pop with open style booths down one side and a couple small tables towards the front. The gentleman behind the counter greeted us immediately and offered to sit wherever we like. We ordered fresh spring rolls which were very good, nice and fresh and large. The peanut dipping sauce was excellent. I tried the pad Thai and my mom tried the drunken noodles. I ordered 3/5 or "hot" and she ordered 0/5. The pad Thai was a bit wet, it could have used a bit less sauce. It was almost a soup. The noodles were good but there unfortunately was almost no spice. I was pretty disappointed, as I was really looking forward to sweating from some good Thai spice. 3/5 should be hot, not mild. Was the weakest "hot" I've ever had. I've had many 2/5s elsewhere that were far hotter.

The hosts are super friendly and felt lot of positivity entering in. Given the development of egg allergy I am limited to very few options at Asian restaurants. But to my surprise they had an option of removing the egg from the fried rice. So we got the usual pineapple chicken fried rice (forgot to post it) it's definitely a comfort having that. We got the crab puffs and a unique curry (don't skip on this one, I haven't had this anywhere else) the evil jungle princess..it's got shredded cabbage, mushrooms and chicken in coconut milk (that's all too it!) it was amazing! I didn't want the jasmine rice so they give you an option to swap for other things, I went with the steamed rice noodles (oh wow!) that entire combo was amazing! Paired it with the unsweetened cold green tea. We wanted something simple and non- experimental and were glad this place is so close, and the food is just amazing here! Nothing super fancy just good Thai comfort food! Good options of appetizers, mains, noodles, combos, curry's and desserts. To my surprise they even do vegan, gluten free and egg-free which is a plus!

Ta Lew...what to say…read more.. Clean, friendly staff, comfortable environment and relaxing music, good initial signs. I ordered the red curry chicken with a hot spice level, the usual as you'll know a bite of hades is in order. A fellow diner who ordered moments before us got the food first and was practically done by the time mine and my other diners food came. Granted they were getting busier and as such I can't hold that as a gripe against them. The food itself, meh. Presentation wasn't bad, but the floating red oil was slightly off putting. The chicken was pretty good and was accented by the flashing neon of green peppers and flare orange carrots. Yet the LEGION of bamboo shoots was quite overpowering. The curry itself was not hot (taste) in the slightest, I'd personally pinpoint it as a mild. The curry itself shared much the same flavor as the rice, garlic and sweet notes while lacking the creaminess/thickened texture of a non-soupy curry. Yes, the rice taste was...off. Overall I was not a fan. It's not bad, it just wasn't great. As stated before, the staff was really nice and the place was well cared for, positives for sure. And of course as always this is simply ONE of many menu items and just because this wasn't a winner, it doesn't mean they don't have one. But, I personally wouldn't endorse them on the curry.

We were greeted and seated immediately although there was about a 10 minute delay before we were able to get a beverage and order. We learned the ownership changed about 1.5 years ago, furthermore they had recently lost some staff. The service was slow, so please be patient and plan accordingly. We started our meal with the lettuce wraps appetizers. A fun and interactive dish where you build the wraps with Iceberg lettuce leafs and spoon ground seasoned chicken mixture with shiitake mushrooms, chestnuts, onion and garlic. It was a nice start to the meal, although good, not great. We ordered the Tom Kaa soup medium heat and Pad See-Ew Thai hot heat as our mains. The Tom Kaa soup is a coconut lemongrass soup which was our favorite, although we would request extra lemongrass as it was lacking. The Pad See-Ew was good, but lacked depth of flavor and heat, furthermore the dish and portion was smaller. See previous review. It was a mixed dining experience and leaves me feeling a little disappointed as Chon Thai Food is not that special restaurant any longer it seems. We will likely return at some point but can't say I'm excited.
