A hole in the wall local Mexican food spot. Let me start by saying the carne asada is wonderful! Lots of flavor cooked perfectly and completely delicious with some chalula on top!! It was so good I came back a second time just a day later. You can tell this place is good because the locals come to eat here. They have a bar, the place is not high fashion but what you'd expect from a small hole in the wall. The staff were ok... the food came out quick... and what I ate was awesome! My husband and I enjoyed a Saturday lunch here around 11:30 am. Parking was plentiful at this time and I enjoyed the decor and seating. I used to come here pre-pandemic in the summers and it was half the size and always crowded. The prices have increased but I think the value is still good. My husband ordered the chicken lunch fajitas and I ordered the chicken soup. Both came with fresh flour tortillas. I also like the free salsa bar. Come here for a refreshing Mexican lunch! The have daily drink specials but we did not try them out since we were headed to a beer crawl after my 5k race earlier this morning in Roswell. read more

First time there, would not go back. First of all, there was a couple very visibly vaping at the bar-in front of employees. They didn't care. And that's illegal, you cannot smoke at all inside of restaurants-no matter the form- and I'm not paying money to smell other people's smoke. Second, the majority of our food was cold. 2/3 of my husband's tacos were cold and my beans were cold. And the tortillas just tasted so pre-packaged. Not a fan. We ate what we could and left. It didn't taste that great to ask for a re-make for hot food. We have been coming to this location for years. They were great prior to the renovation and they are still great. The food is consistent and prices are still reasonable. The inside is nice and clean. It's self service; you order at the counter and the servers bring it out to you. The sauce bar is great and also unlimited. Their al pastor is amazing and consistently good. Service is fast and kid-friendly. Tacos run about $3.5 each. Chips are always fresh. This is our go-to Mexican restaurant. read more

We enjoyed our dinner yesterday at Mr. Taco. Very casual. Counter service to order and you seat yourself, but your order is brought to your table and the wait staff will return to refill your drinks and chips. Chips and salsa(s) . . . always the first test when trying out a new Mexican restaurant ;-) . . were very good. You serve yourself from the salsa bar which is always very nice because you get a variety to choose from if you choose wrong the first time. I don't mind having the salsa other Mexican restaurants bring you without asking, but if you do not like that particular one, you're stuck with it for the whole meal. We tried several and all of them were very good. We liked the fact the chips were not overly salted. Had the Burrito Supreme and Steak Fajitas. The burrito was a bit smaller than I expected, but very tasty. The fajitas were good. Veggies (onions, bell peppers) were cooked just right. Most Mexican restaurants overcook the veggies. Steak could have been a little more tender, but we liked how it was cooked and the serving size was good. Ordered the cheese dip with jalapenos which gets you unlimited chips. Otherwise, be prepared to pay $1.50 for chips (unlimited). read more

Placed an order online tonight for 4 street tacos (no onions) and an enchilada (to-go). Upon returning home the order has onions on all the tacos. Yes, I should have checked the order at the restaurant. But when it's almost $4.00 a taco... You'd think they would check. I tried calling 4-5 times but it goes straight to voicemail. It's 12-15 min one way to the restaurant. So almost an hour of driving for TWO round trips. They made no attempt to compensate me for my time or driving 2 round trips. They simply said they would remake them. I just asked them to refund my order and went home empty handed. Should have went to any of the many other choices: Lil kikos, betos, capital, tequito express.... They may have redone the interior but the customer service is the same as it has been from the previous owners. Try one of their competitors instead. read more

It was my first visit to this location and it's just as good as the original. In fact, because this place is new, the inside is much nicer with still the same amazing food they've always had. They do things just a little bit different than other Mexican restaurants but it's all better. I think the food is top notch in terms of quality. I've ordered many different dishes over time and they've all been incredible. I think this was the first visit to a location that I ordered a lunch special of just some basic items, but even then the sauces that they have, the softness of the tortilla, the velvety meat, perfectly cooked rice, creamy refried beans and overall amazing flavor just make it one of my favorite spots. In addition, because it's ordered at the counter, it goes pretty fast even by Mexican standards. This will probably always be up on my list of places to go to if I'm in the area. They even have some small touches like they give you real high quality porcelain decorative plates. The employees are super nice and friendly too. My Dinner out church group decided to meet here. It's near my church, and I never noticed it on the outside. It doesn't look like much kind of like every other taco place but inside it had quite a variety of items. Visiting Georgia for the first time and my group and I decided to search for a Mexican restaurant that had solid ratings and a cute dining area- I found Mr Taco and we went over to check it out! Upon walking in we were immediately greeted by the women working the front and we took a good amount of time to figure out what we wanted because everything looked so good lol So we went with taquitos, al pastor tacos, and a carne asada burrito. While we were trying to figure out drinks I decided to just play it safe and go with a classic margarita but one of the women, Diana recommended the Coco-Rita. She promised we'd love it so we all went ahead and decided to try it out, and I must say we were NOT disappointed! The drink was a perfect blend of tequila, lime, and coconut milk a combination I did not know I needed. I could probably take down another 5 of those. The ambience was great, Spanish music was playing and the environment was bright and clean and just overall a great vibe. Super cute bar as well! The food was delicious and obliviously fresh, I haven't seen that many fresh salsas in years and they were SO GOOD. Honestly it was a great experience and I absolutely recommend it! Make sure to order well in advance before going to pick up your food. However, they were able to get my order out quickly. I got a steak and chorizo taco and some rice and beans. for about $17+ including tax. I thought that was kind of pricey. Rice and beans were pretty good. The steak didn't really have a lot of flavor. The chorizo was my favorite. There was so much flavor!! The corn tortillas they used were crunchy and hard. Unless it was rushed but it ruined the taco all together for me. Walked into a local place in a strip mall expecting solid, authentic, but typical food. I walked out with a belly full of the best burrito I've ever had (ordered Burrito California with guacamole). The guacamole is almost creamy. Didn't think I'd like that but it's great. And if I notice the fresh cilantro it's usually because it's overpowering everything else. The only way to describe the taste is fresh... with cilantro, but just one note in the flavor explosion. The warm tortilla chips and both hot and green sauces were on point as well. I enjoyed my meal here a lot. The menu is a little overwhelmingly busy, but once I figured out what I wanted, the counter staff is really friendly and helped me customize my order. There is a salsa bar with more choices than you can test in a single visit. If you can't find something you like here, I guarantee you it doesn't exist in nature. The chicken enmoladas were tasty. I hadn't been here in maybe 9 months or a year, but WOW, I was really impressed when I went there today. The entire decor has been updated, and it was very clean, bright, and stylish. The colors are much more modern. And the food was fantastic, even though the menu seemed to be the same. Maybe better ingredients, or better chefs. Our group had tacos, molcajete, a sope, and a gordita, and there were no complaints. Their sauces are great too, and now they have a small cooler where you can purchase bottles to take home. I got tomatoes on top of a "salad" that was so swimming in dressing that every piece of lettuce was drenched. if you're in the Alpharetta area and having cravings for Mexican food, Mr. Taco is a great place to try out for reasonable prices, quick service, and delicious fresh Mexican flavors. Taco prices here are relatively standard. I've seen cheaper at places like El Indio on Beaver Ruin. Restaurant interior is very simple with soccer always on the TV's. I'd say that the only downside about this place is the decor. Slightly outdated, but don't let this distract you from great food. Greatest part about Mr. Taco is the phenomenal salsa bar. Featuring tons of different salsas and different spice levels, there will guaranteed be one that you fall in love with. Personal favorites of mine are every salsa that is labeled as "Very Hot". I promise they will wake your taste buds up, with the perfect kick. Carnitas, Asada, and Lengua tacos are all very good. Lengua wasn't the best quality I've had but still good. Years of regret. That's what I have to say for myself. I've driving by this place over 1000 times in the past decade ... 3000 times probably. I finally stopped in wanting something different. This was really good food. But truth be told, you can find really good "hole in the wall" Mexican in many places. The service here is what stood out. I encountered at least four during my visit and everyone was above and beyond good service. Incredibly polite, checking in on me, getting the order right. I know we SHOULD expect great service, but it's more and more rare these days. Even better, this great service came from a very young crew. Nice job parents, whoever you are.
