Chicken enchiladas verdes with rice and beans
Tracy W.

Drove by this place and was really enchanted by all the colorful lights outside so thought I'd give it a try. I'm glad I did. Parking was easy and convenient in the lot right in front. The decor is fresh and charming without being too "busy," the service was great, and the menu was huge. I tried the chicken enchiladas verdes and was quite happy with them. Next time I'll be back to try the "build your own rice bowl."

I'm going to be generous and go with 2 stars on this rating, but really could've been just one, or none. I'm going to give the team the benefit of the doubt, and assume they were worn out from Cinco de Mayo, the day prior. We were seated very quickly on Taco Tuesday, and also trivia night. There were many tables occupied, but nothing crazy on a Tuesday. It took no time for the chips & salsa to be brought to our table which was very good, but after more than 20 minutes, we still hadn't seen our waiter, and didn't even have water. This location is right behind a McDonald's, and my wife suggested we bail and go there. I actually should've listened to her, but the Yelp reviews averaged 4.6 stars, so it had to be good, right? Wrong. Another 10 minutes went by and our waiter took our order, to include the obligatory cheese dip with jalapeños. That came out in a timely manner, and was good. I ordered a simple A&W root beer, which I was pleasantly surprised they offered. However, what I received was nothing like a root beer of any sorts. It was AWFUL! Another 10-15 minutes more, when the chips & salsa were both gone, and the waiter came back to reconfirm our order. Guess he should've placed it the first time? Several more minutes went by and our food finally appeared. I ordered three tacos, and my wife had a beef chimichanga. She describes hers as an oily, runny, salty, beef mess. My tacos were decent, but also high on the salt content. There was no sense of remorse about the delays on our meals or drinks. When I went to the restroom to clean up after my tacos, the bathroom was in worse shape than most dive gas stations. Sad to say, I'm thinking Yelp reviews did a swing and a miss on this one, and although we live not far away, there are other options where we've enjoyed good Mexican food, and this one will not remain on our list.

Lovely decor on the inside of this fairly newer Mexican restaurant. There's plenty of parking and very easy to get to. I came during lunch and was greeted and sat quickly. I asked for a sweet tea which never came unfortunately.. by the time my food came out, I just asked for a water as I noticed they were still making the tea and I wish my server would have just let me know instead of me just waiting to have something to drink. The food i had was good and prices were fine. There's no substitutions on lunch items and if you decide to omit anything there's an up charge on it. Even with the small mishap I'd love to come back and try more items they have to offer !

This is a hidden gem! We had great quality food and service. Everything is fresh from the tortilla shells, to the chips and the salsa. We had chicken and also beef quesadillas. They both came with a giant plate of beans and rice, and pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream. We also had the burrito grande steak and it was fresh and topped beautifully. We had the skinny margaritas and it was made with fresh limes and agave!!! Delicious !!! The interior is not only cleaned but so colorful and really nice to sit and see all the art all over the walls! We have found our New Mexican restaurant ! Nice job!!!

We have been coming down to Atlanta for over ten years since our daughter moved here to Alpharetta so we're very familiar with the locale and have tried many restaurants. This time we were looking for an AUTHENTIC Mexican restaurant. Our usual has been El Porton, which has been okay, it's authentic, taco Tuesday was a deal, but we wanted to try something different this time. My daughter recommended Catrina's Mexican Grill by the Macdonald's on McGinnis/Ferry, and it was a hit. We got delicious authentic Mexican food. The chips & salsa were fresh. Our dinners came out hot and very tasty. Portions were not skimpy, the California Burrito was humongous, topped with both red and green chili sauce. Prices were reasonable. Service was fast but it was not busy (Sunday night). However, I did not get a refill on my water. The decor was authentic Mexican-a skeleton, which symbolizes I believe "the day of the dead" in Mexico is on the cover of their menu. In all, a very good authentic Mexican meal! Four stars because I didn't get water refill.

Shout out to Catrina's Mexican restaurant! Always great service and definitely the place for fresh food. They also help with those with food allergies to make what you can have and like!

My husband and son were thrilled with their food (taco Al carbon and enchilada de espincaca) mine was less thrilling. Nothing wrong with it, just kind of bland. All are probably more authentic than I'm used to. I tasted my son's taco meat and it was amazing! The menu is overwhelmingly large and hard to decide. Our server, Daisy was wonderful and then there was the robot server...she was pretty good also

There it is like every corner has a good place... here in Alpharetta/roswell... it is spotty. This is a hidden spot... hidden in plain view but hidden all the same. I must have been past it a dozen times but had never noticed it. The ambiance was nice but simple. It is not 5 star dining... but it is not run down worry what you're getting either. It is a descent place. The service was good... it wasn't busy here... so I think we got a lot of focus for sure. The menu is extensive. Lots of dishes to choose from. My wife always orders the guac when we go to Mexican. I get the queso... I can't stand guac. I mean just look at it... I swear I have too many kids and changed too many diapers to eat anything that looks like this! Anyway once past the aps we got to our meals and I was pleasantly surprise. My boys liked it, I liked it, and my wife liked it! Eureka... a Mexican place that we all enjoyed and it wasn't out of this world expensive! I recommend stopping in and trying a thing or two.. you'll be glad you did!

To eat, I ordered a shrimp burrito. It was mostly filled with vegetables and a small amount of shrimp. I did enjoy the chips and salsa. With other great restaurants on the area, I cannot see myself returning.

We came back today and I tried a chimichanga supreme. I ordered what was listed as shredded beef, but as you can see, it's more of a ground beef. I don't care at all because it's delicious! It came with rice, but I gave that to my son because I don't eat the rice and he loves it. He ordered the chimichanga de Carnita and said that the meat was pretty dry and bland by itself, so not as happy as he usually is. The salsa was just as good today as it was before and the food comes out quickly. The service is good, but since you don't get a physical menu and have to scan the barcode and scroll through your phone to look at the menu, they keep coming back too quickly to see if you're ready to order without giving you much of a chance to look to see what's available. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated, I personally think the music is a little too loud to hold a conversation because everyone around you is trying to compensate and talk louder.

Fives across the board…read more Casi Cielo is incredible. The space is warm and beautiful without trying too hard, and the crowd was hip and well dressed. Definitely a place to be seen and eat well. There's a parking garage but it was full when we got there, so we did valet, which was surprisingly affordable. Service was wonderful. Our server was attentive, helpful, and super knowledgeable about the menu. As for the food, we got: Aguachile de Pescado, which was insane. Super fresh, bright, citrusy, ceviche-like with perfect texture. I would go back just for that. The Hamachi was clean and bright. That avocado sauce tied everything together and gave it some depth without overpowering the fish. The Pork Belly Tostadas were crispy and rich with that smooth avocado mousse and sweet mango salsa balancing it out perfectly. Finally, the bone marrow with steak... so good. I had seen pictures of it before I came and it did not disappoint. The steak was incredibly tender. They bring blue corn tortillas and suggest making a taco with the marrow, steak, and avocado. It's great that way. But honestly, the marrow and steak stand perfectly on their own. Whole experience was excellent. Easily one of my favorite spots in the city now.

Wanted to love it…read more The vibes are there, the staff is genuinely lovely, and there's real potential here, we just had a bit of an adventure getting through the meal. We had someone in our party with a gluten allergy, and our sweet server was doing his absolute best, bless. We were steered away from the tostadas as a starter due to gluten concerns, so we pivoted to guac...which then arrived with a gluten-free tostada. So the tostadas would have been totally fine! Then a good while after we'd all ordered, she was told her entrée had gluten and needed to be changed. She reordered, and almost immediately, the rest of the table's food came out. So we were left choosing between eating without her or letting everything go cold. And the plantains she'd reordered around, because she'd been told they couldn't be made gluten-free? Turns out they absolutely can be. Just miss after miss there. The spicy margarita was more of a margarita that once passed a jalapeño on the street. I asked for extra jalapeño juice and they were happy to help, but without the seeds and ribs it just couldn't deliver on the heat. I'd skip the margs next visit. This just wasn't quite the relaxed easy dinner we'd hoped for, and the price point feels like it's a step ahead of where the experience currently lands. But I'm rooting for them to get there!
