In that the restaurant is halal, there were many Muslim families there as well. Always a good sign when ethnicities are eating at local restaurants of their own cuisine. The place was pretty full. I ordered the Arabian salad and added chicken and Sally ordered a mixed grill plate. Her plate was expensive but plentiful. Mine was expensive for what I got and quite small. I was disappointed, although it was tasty. I could tell Sally felt bad for me that my portion was so small since she shared some of her dinner with me! I am still struggling with how expensive everything has gotten in restaurants, and so I tried to take it all with a grain of salt when I am comparing a price with the portion, but in this case it was hard for me to justify over $15 for a small salad with one small skewer of chicken. So as far as atmosphere, location, taste of the food and service, it was all excellent. I just could not help but wonder if they could have given me more food for what I paid. It made me feel like I might have been better off eating at home or going somewhere else for a better value. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, or I need to accept that everything is much more expensive and portions are getting smaller.
