Been here a few times and it's always consistent. Not a huge fan but based on the reviews I see, people really love it. The place is clean and there is plenty of in house seating. Subs are good, garlic fries are really tasty and heavy on the garlic. +1 for that. My biggest peeve is that when you ask for your sub hot they throw the thing in the microwave...Yikes! Nuked bread is not appealing at all. So I have learned not to have my sub heated. Decent sub, fresh bread, made to order, give them a try and see what you think. read more

We would give this place a half a star if we could! Went in and met with the rudest people you ever want to meet. They both talked over my son, my nephew and then my daughter and me while ordering. They didn't even make what my son asked for, rushing us all as if there was a long line and we were the only ones in there..and my son ended up walking out and going elsewhere. Three minute walk down the street from my new home - I will be a regular. A little on the greasy/buttery side, but that's half the taste I'm sure. Not sure if that's from the "sauce" or if they butter the bread, or both. Good strong dose of onions, so beware, if you're not a fan. Been coming to this Mr. Sub for over 20 years but this newest staff may just be the thing that makes me coming to this restaurant. Incompetent and rude. When I didn't receive half of my order the staff argued with me about my order because the person behind the counter didn't charge me. They offered no apology and had rotten attitudes with me. Been going to Mr. Sub for the past 15 years and it's been my favorite place to get fast food without going far and the prices are great. I love the Chicago dog, roast beef and pastrami subs and get either of those every time I go there. Their subs have this special dressing that adds moisture and flavor and sets this place apart from the subway down the street. Recently I came back from school abroad to see new staff and, sadly, a different taste in the food :/ because I live so close I won't be changing my staple place to walk for fast food (although Mcdonald's is right next to it) Though the taste is different than I remember as a kid I still think the food is great. The lot is always full at lunchtime, so you know it's good. Open late, too! Mr. Sub will always have a special place in my heart and I hope it doesn't go anywhere. read more

I like mr. Sub. The food is good if you're in the mood for deep fried food and subs. The staff is also friendly and has never messed up an order, I've been coming here for over 10 years. I like their sandwiches, but today I tried the shrimp dinner. Not any other places for shrimp in the area. They would have been good if they weren't over cooked. The shrimp was over cooked, the garlic bread was over cooked, the fries were over cooked. Plus the sign said the dinner comes with coleslaw, but didn't get any coleslaw. Very disappointed! read more

I rarely review chain fast food places, but I'm making an exception for Mr. Submarine. I've been going here since high school, perhaps longer. It has definitely helped me when I was a wee bit tipsy late at night. The people that work there are always very nice to the drunken fools that inhabit this place after 1 am. I hate to write bad reviews but it seems these days the customer service is flat on the floor. Here is review in my eyes: Me: I walk up to the counter. Hi. I stare at her because I am waiting to be greeted in return. Cashier: looks at me with no greeting and no smile. Me: I look back at her and smile and say yes ma'am I'd like a Regular Turkey and Regular Combo, everything on both. Cashier: Now she is picking at her cheap ass nails then starts clicking the keys and asks everything? Me: Swallows my saliva, thinking apparently this lil young ass girl has a tootsie roll jammed in her ears and she can't hear me. Everything, what is the total? I needed to get out of her face cause she had pissed me off slowly but surely. I reach her my bill she clicks more keys and takes my money and reaches to give me my change like she's tired of her executive job. I was wondering why?!? Cashier: looks at me and then puts her head down and starts back picking at her cheap ass nail and the debris is flying all over the register area. Me: Who is the manager? Because apparently they don't care either but I do cause I fished for corporate's number, so guess what I am gonna do?!? Call and talk to them about her unprofessional ass. I used to go to Mr. Sub several times a week. Now that I moved further away I only go several times a year. I was in the area Christmas Eve and had to stop for a fountain RC and two regular Mr. Subs with everything. Plus they are open until 4am on Christmas Eve! I never order anything else; but the regular Mr. Sub is a classic with its meats, cheese and sauce. You can't go wrong and are sure to love it. They have a great menu with many subs, some that are unique. A gyro sub and a steak burger sub. Lots of sides to choose from as well. Plus. Vienna hot dogs and krinkle cut fries. read more

In my opinion this is the best Mr. Sub of the chain (I've been to Brookfield, Downers Grove, Chicago, and other Berwyn locations) and I continue to return to this location. Subs are great and never soggy. I also really like their fries (crinkles) as each location has a different type as well as their chicken tender meal. I am usually a go-to Turkey sub gal but I have also had the ham and Mr. Sub choices which are all excellent. They even recently started doing butter-garlic (BG) fries which are to die for - bring some gum for after! I love that they continue to serve RC, something you don't see everyday. They have a ton of seating and are open very late. I even came here xmas eve late night and they were unexpectedly open. read more

I haven't eaten here in almost a decade. Was I missing out! They have good specials, including a regular Mr. Sub cold cut (white or wheat) and drink for $3, and it's totally worth it. The roast beef and corned beef subs are also great, and the prices are good for how much meat comes on them. They also have seafood salads as well, if that's your thing. A much better buy than Subway or Jimmy Johns, with so many more options. read more

My friend took me here about two years ago and said it's been his "spot" since he was a little kid. I see exactly why this place has stayed in business so long!! Veronica I've learned tonight is very opinionated for a service employee. I ordered my food, informed her that I needed to use the restroom. When I returned to the main area I waited for my order. Veronica then announced in Spanish something I did not understand. There were other customers in the establishment and I was told by her that it was too bad I didn't understand Spanish and espoused racial discrimination. While I was happy this occurred after my food was already ordered, if this would have occurred prior to this confrontation I would have declined the entire order worrying that I may have been poisoned or spat on my food. I do not recommend eating there if you are a person other than Hispanic because Veronica was very judgmental. I'm a White guy and the Black folks in line even acknowledged the pure disdain with this employee. We will never return and me esposa es Mexicana. Never again. EVER read more

I really like the subs here and the cheese fries are outstanding! Parking has not been a problem the few times I've been here, which is nice. The employees have been friendly and the place looks clean. I really wish they would serve Coke or Pepsi, though...just not a fan of RC. read more

Like hot dogs, beefs, gyros, cheese fries, chili, poppers, salads, chicken wings, chicken tenders and even shrimp! Mr. SUB has got you covered! So if you want a sub and your family or whoever wants like a beef sandwich or an gyros you can do that at Mr. SUB. The bread they use is fresh with sesame seeds! So Good! They run great deals, too. Like two regular Mr. Subs for the low, low price of $5.99. They put this really tasty dressing on their subs, it's like an Italian dressing and it's so good. This is a small chain restaurant that I think is only in Chicagoland. I've been to a few of their stores and they are always clean and the service is always friendly. They are also open super late like 4am on the weekends for that after bar crowd. I've never had a bad sub here. The first time I was in, being new to Illinois, the person behind the counter was very patient as he highlighted some of the more popular items on the menu to help me make my selection. I've been here several times and ordered the Mr Sub and never had an issue until I ordered the 2 hot dog special. I sent my daughter in since my little one fell asleep in the car. I got home and noticed that the hot dogs and buns were recooked in the microwave and the fries were old. I did go around 11:40pm not sure if that made a difference but still not right. If I knew that's what they did I would of sent them back. Put a bad taste in my mouth. Very disappointed. read more
