I know a lot of people have reservations paying top dollar for just a sandwich, but I'd say the quality of ingredients and flavourful sauces is totally worth it. I always get the holy cow sandwich with vamp sauce, but will occasionally get the chicken sandwich with lunar sauce. I did try the lemonade they had once, but to be honest, it doesn't quite fit my palate. The lemonade has some sort of seasoning in it. If you've had lemonade from East Asian restaurants, you would kind of know what to expect. They also give you a discount card that you can show for an extra 15% off when you visit. If you're in the area looking for a quick bite, I'd give this place a shot.

This was a hearty sandwich, well over a pound on arrival I'd say. Unfortunately, it was delivered rather cold but not their fault. The toppings options were very varied and appreciated but the sauce could have been more generously applied. This sandwich was crazy filling. The bread was fresh, soft, and sturdy.. and the patties were flavourful. I'm not a vegetarian but I was very satisfied with them and happy I chose this over chicken or beef options. Pricepoint is a big high for a veggie sandwich but I truly feel there is high value in their product.. Need to go in and remove the delivery from the equation for a clear review

I have fond memories of eating veal sandwiches. My dad use to get these long veal sandwiches from a…read morefood truck that would stop by his workplace years ago. He brought one home and I devoured it. The bun was soft, the veal was breaded and tender, the marinara sauce was fresh, and it had onions, peppers, and mushrooms that made it the best sandwich. He bought them for me late in my high school and all through my undergraduate years. I moved away. He retired. Veal sandwiches died. Coming back to the GTA, the best veal sandwich I have had is from California Sandwiches. This location is the closest one to my workplace. On Saturday, I had to go into the office and stopped by this location to grab a bite before getting down to work. This location is on Dixie, just north of the 401. You expect tired, hungry truckers around this area on a Saturday. Then, you have folks like me. I wanted a veal sandwich and was hungry. Parking in front of the eatery is limited. I got a spot out of the possible five available. There is also a back entrance where there is more parking. I walked in. There was a woman ahead of me ordering three sandwiches. I already knew what I wanted. This California Sandwiches looks dated from the outside, but is pretty decent inside. I finally got to place my order for a veal sandwich with mushrooms. Technology-wise, the woman took my order down on small pieces of paper. The only modern thing seemed to be the debit machine. Judging by the sign where it said it accepted cash, scribbled in pen underneath was debit. I was armed with both and paid with cash. Everyone there seemed to be Italian. I liked the homey vibe. She asked if I wanted anything else. I got a bottled diet Dr. Pepper. I found out later on that there was San Pellegrino. Oh, well. I'll get that next time. This California Sandwiches is a bit different. You can buy bottles of marinara sauce to take home. Fish and chips are on the menu. If you can fit poutine in your tummy with your sandwich, it's available. Finally, if you feel like pasta, you can get some here. I loved all the choices. It took a bit of time to get my order. There were three orders ahead of mine. Finally, my sandwich was ready. The woman who prepared asked whether I was dining in. I was. No tray. Just the sandwich wrapped in paper was handed to me. I loved all of it! The woman called me sweetie when she handed me my sandwich. It was endearing. I happily sat down and looked forward to chowing down. Why do I love California Sandwiches? The veal is larger than the bun. I opened my sandwich up and felt so happy looking at such beauty. It came with lots of napkins. You need all of them! I took my first bite. I was in heaven. The veal was tender. The breading was perfect. It was light and yummy. I loved the marinara sauce with little chunks of onion. Finally, all those sliced mushrooms got my seal of approval. The yummy bun held everything together. Some have complained that it's expensive to get a sandwich here. With taxes, my sandwich with mushrooms and a bottled drink came up to $14.50. Considering that my sandwich was huge, packed with goodness, and I didn't eat anything until dinner, it's all worth it to me. It does get messy eating this sandwich. After I was done, I washed my hands in the women's washroom. It has two stalls. It was clean. It's dated, but everything works. I'd come back here again for another yummy veal sandwich. It's good reliving good memories while creating new ones. (169)

The service was friendly and they took the time to answer questions from customers. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Meal and the portion size was big. They were quite generous with the serving. I got mine with potatoes and salad but you can opt for rice. The chicken was cooked fresh per order so expect a bit of wait time. The Greek salad was fresh and refreshing. I also tried their Biggies sauce which was similar to a garlic aioli (explained by the server). The garlic flavour was relatively mild compared to other ones I have tried. The chicken was boneless and grilled. It was a tad bit dry but good thing they put a lot of sauce. I'd like to try their sandwiches in the future.

For years, I have visited this plaza that has Biggies, but never noticed it until now. Biggies used to be called Porchetta Roll. I dropped by after work on a Wednesday. It was roughly 2:30 pm. This eatery is roughly a ten-minute drive from my workplace. It's in a plaza that I visit regularly. It has Cora, Kung Fu Tea, and Lezzet Shawarma that I like. It's easier to look for Pizza Pizza. Next to the orange sign is Biggies. I found an available parking spot fairly close to Biggies. I backed into the spot and walked over to the eatery. A female customer was ahead of me. She picked up an order and left. The nice man behind the counter cheerfully said hi. I reciprocated. He asked me what I'd like. I had looked at the list of sandwiches and mini meals before dropping by. I had the porchetta sandwich on my mind. After all, if it was a part of the original name, it must be good, right? He went ahead and made my sandwich. I saw him lightly toast what looked like a kaiser bun. The place smelled good. The porchetta is roasted for a good twelve hours. It has garlic aioli, mustard, sautéed onions, and arugula. He saw me looking at the Biggies cap. I loved it so much with the cute bear logo. I let him know that I'd be back for it and the meatball sandwich. The photo alone of this sandwich made me salivate hard. He handed me my sandwich in a paper bag. I thanked him and wished him a great day. He hoped that I'd like the sandwich. I left and headed to my car. I was still stuffed from lunch. I ended up running a bunch of errands before heading home. I had this sandwich as a snack watching the Winnipeg Jets game. This sandwich was massive! The man had wrapped the sandwich such that it was upside down with the arugula at the bottom of the top bun. It was interesting. I loved how tender the porchetta was. It was so flavourful and yummy. The garlic aioli and mustard were the perfect pairing of condiments for this sandwich. I loved the sautéed onions that brought out the natural pork flavour while providing some sweetness. I normally don't like using arugula in salads or anything because it tends to overpower everything with its peppery, bitter, nutty taste. I feel like the baby arugula chosen for this sandwich wasn't as in-your-face in boldness as it can be. It was a light peppery flavour that worked well with the other ingredients. This sandwich was so good. I am still thinking about how awesome it was. The porchetta sandwich goes for $12. It is packed with a lot of love. I'd definitely return and get another one. It's worth it, as the sandwich is massive. I had a great experience at Biggies. I'll be back for more good eats. (110)

Hello foodies today I bring you a mixed bag of reviews from this small italian and portuguese…read morerestaurant. I would say its primarily takeout but they have one or two tables inside. They are located in a small plaza on the north side of Qieen st behind a gas station with plenty of parking . They serve your typical fair with pizza. Pasta , hot sandwiches, and Portuguese grilled chicken ... Today I ordered three sandwiches, the veal sandwich with hot peppers, the italian sausage sandwich with grilled peppers and onions and the Porruguese Chorizo sausage sandwich plain. 3./5 rating on average for all three sandwiches even though they were not all equal in quality and taste. Let's start with the veal as I feel this was the worst of the three. For a guy who has tried practically every veal sandwich in the GTA I think I know what makes a good veal plus I am half italian. Raring 3/5 a very large sandwich great portion size with I think two layers of thin cut veal could of used another layer not typical . However very hard not tender at all most likley overly deep fried, correct preparation is a shallow fry so it dosnt get hard , i found it very hard to bite through the sandwich because how tough the meet was. The second let down was this was definitely not home made tomato sauce very very acidic canned sauce . If you never had another veal sandwich it's probably not bad but in comparison to much better in the GTA it falls really short Italian sausage 2.5/5 is my rating again great portion size big sandwich several sausages cut in half in sandwich with some really tasty grilled peppers and onions , but again this sausage was not fresh very hard overcooked and probably sat in fridge then reheated days later making it very hard and difficult to bight through not one bit of tenderness...and same issue with the canned sauce extremely acidic. Portuguese Chorizo sausage sandwich was the best one. .3.8/5 .Another generous large portion size .but on a more positive note .the sausage was better cooked not so dry and hard very very flavorful and maybe because it was not drenched in that acidic tomato sauce it was a good sandwich at least much better then the previous two The olives were just fabulous tasty spicey and perfect highly recomend thos with your meal 5/5 Service 5/5 was very friendly fast my food was ready in about 7 minutes from the time I ordered. Very average sandwiches but not the worst veal and sausage sandwiches i have had

Last Tuesday, after work, I was running an errand in Mississauga by the Cineplex at Courtneypark. I needed dinner. I did a search and found that there was this Firehouse Subs nearby. I love subs. I've been to a few Firehouse Subs. Why not check this place out! I had no problem finding this eatery. It's in a small plaza. Across from it is a Starbucks, with its drive-thru next door. Nice! I backed into a parking spot a few steps away from the main door. I then headed inside. It's a nicely lit, clean eatery. There were three folks eating in the back right corner of this place. I headed to the order area, which is straight ahead until you reach the back. I got a nice man, Vishwesh, at the order counter. I looked at all the sub varieties. My favourite is the meatball sub at Firehouse Subs. He stepped me through the ordering process, which was helpful and nice. I got my sub on whole wheat bread. I got a pickle spear on the side. I made it a combo by getting a chocolate chunk cookie and a fountain drink. For the drink, you can also go for a bottled drink. Frankly, the fountain drink gives you more bang for your buck. You can do refills. He asked me whether I'd like to round up my total bill to the nearest dollar to support the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. I said yes, as the cause provides funding and equipment to first responders and public safety organizations. I will say that a combo does get expensive here. Mind you, I did have a large sub and this combo came to $22. It's not horrible if you come here once in a while to treat yourself. I wouldn't get it daily! He took my name. I got a cup and hit the fountain drinks machine. The sugar-free lemonade varieties caught my attention. I got the lemon lime lemonade. It was awesome! It had the right amount of sweetness and tartness, without any sugar. I'd get it again. I needed a refill with a quarter of my sub left to devour. I got the peach lemonade. It was okay, but the lemon lime had my heart. I liked adding ice to my drink. The ice cubes kept my drink nice and cold. Another man called my name. He was done putting my sub together. I thanked him and grabbed my tray. I was ready to chow down and found a table to sit down at. I loved my meatball sub. The meatballs were large, flavourful, and a joy to eat. Each meatball had sauce that provided the perfect amount of yumminess and moisture. The melted cheese on top was so good. The bread tied everything together. The pickle spear was juicy and had a nice crunch. I loved it so much that it was gone by the time I had the other half of my sub. I had my chocolate chunk cookie. It had a lot of chocolate chunks. The cookie was chewy, but didn't crumble on you when you ate it. It was yummy. I used the washroom before I left and made tracks home. It's a single stall and the one that I used was nicely maintained. I learned that when a Leafs player scores a hat trick, you can get a medium brisket sub for $5 the day after. The catch is that hat tricks don't happen all the time, so you may be waiting a while to claim this deal. I had a wonderful time here. I'll be back to enjoy a sub when I'm in the area. (418)

Tried Firehouse Subs from their recent 50% off past 7pm promo…read more I'm a huge sub fan and was excited to try this place out. I saw reviews online saying the sub portions were excellent and Firehouse was a cut above the rest. Sad to say I did not find this true on my visit. I ordered the Italian sub before I started driving there and upon arriving ~20 mins later, find that my sub is still being made. It takes me another 15 minutes before I get my sub, which is way too long for a lukewarm sandwich at an off-peak time of day. There was only 1 group of 4 people dining in, also waiting for their food, so no large crowd to explain a huge delay. More importantly, there was no semblance of trying to hurry up by the staff, no acknowledgment of how long I had been waiting. It would have helped if the sub was good. It was mediocre - nothing stood out that made the wait worthwhile. Protein portion size was normal, the bread leans on the thin side, so it was less filling than other subs I've had. I asked for extra lettuce which didn't seem to be done, they forgot my pickle spear, and all in all I got a sub that I could have easily ordered for cheaper & picked up in half the time from my neighbourhood Subway. If anything stood out, it was that I asked for extra sauce and they drowned my sub in it, to the point where it was hard to even hold the sub and it completely masked the flavour of the protein. I don't know if this is standard for Firehouse or the staff at this location just don't care, but it sure tastes like it. Can't imagine myself ever coming back
